I have owned this Suburban since it was new, except for about 2 years (When it was sold to a daycare), and I bought it back from them.
It has been sitting on my son's property for years and has become quite pitiful looking. HOWEVER, it is all there and has a good Turbo 400 trans, but no motor. It started life as a 350 and I changed it to a 454 when it had about 120,000 on it. I then took the 454 out and put it in my pickup.
I had the Cadillac leather seats installed about the same time I changed motors, and as you can see from the pics, the rear seat was custom fitted to the original Suburban seat. It is still in good condition, but the front seats may need to be re-done.
The windshield is cracked from the 'infamous' hailstorm of 2011, the rust is minimal (especially for a '74) .
I am not trying to paint this truck as one you can stick a motor in and head to the social event of the year ! It needs a lot of work but can be restored to be a useful vehicle. I have kept it all these years for sentimental reasons, but it is time to let it go.
I am open to all offers.
This truck is worth about $575.00 at the crusher. SOMEBODY PLEASE SAVE IT FROM THAT FATE !
I am probably going to sell the mirrors before the listing ends, so please keep this in mind when you place your bid. Mirrors do NOT go with the truck.
Thanks for looking !

Automakers score 8 out of top 20 most-watched ads on YouTube [w/videos]
Fri, 14 Dec 2012Who would have ever thought there'd be a day where people are able to skip television commercials only to go to websites to watch them later? Such is the joy of a DVR and YouTube. AdWeek tabulated the 20 most-watched ads on YouTube, and found that nine were car-related including eight coming from automakers.
Volkswagen continued its Star Wars theme with two ads in the top 20, including the highest-ranking car commercial The Bark Side spot at number three with almost 18 million views, which doesn't even have a single car in it. Some of our favorites are from Chrysler with Clint Eastwood in It's Halftime in America and House Arrest with Charlie Sheen for the Fiat 500 Abarth. Chevrolet, Honda, Audi and Toyota were the other automakers in the top 20, but we'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention one of the coolest ads on the list, the Hot Wheels corkscrew jump.
Of all the car videos, only the Fiat ad wasn't played during a Super Bowl. Check out all eight videos - in order - after the jump. Nike took the top spot with its My Time is Now ad that has been seen online more than 20 million times with Pepsi's Uncle Drew posted up in the runner-up; some of the other videos include four Old Spice commercials and an ad in which Snoop Dogg is pedaling Hot Pockets.
GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech
Tue, 24 Dec 2013The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.
