I purchased the truck in 2008 with 90,000 miles. It's fully loaded with every option including the Duramax LBZ turbo diesel engine, the most coveted Duramax made. The LBZ is so popular because it was the first Duramax to be paired with the six-speed Allison transmission but without much of the new emissions equipment that came with 2007.5 and later models. It's efficient, powerful and very low maintenance.

Features and Options:
2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500
Crew cab
Long bed with dual rear wheels
Electronic shift-on-the-fly four wheel drive
LT3 trim (top of the line)
6.6 liter Duramax turbo diesel with six-speed Allison transmission
LBZ engine (360 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque)
Leather seating
Front bucket seats
Power heated seats w/ driver memory
Bose sound system w/ XM Radio
Auto climate control
Power windows and locks
Power heated exterior towing mirrors
Keyless entry (one key and fob)
Auto-dimming rear view mirror
Rear window defrost
On-Star
Cruise control
Driver information center (MPG, distance to empty, etc.)
Gooseneck hitch and factory bumper hitch
Trailer brake controller
Firestone Ride-Rite air bag suspension on rear axle
Please note: The external fuel tank in the photos is not being sold with the truck.

The book value is $22,825 with options and miles.

Interior/Exterior Condition: Although it's not new, it looks really good for its age and miles. The interior is clean and the leather is in excellent shape. Non-smoker owned. The exterior has some blemishes but is in good condition overall. No paint fade. The front grille was replaced at some point and while it looks good, is secured in places with zip ties. There is a scratch on the driver side front and rear doors that may buff out. The passenger side rear quarter panel has a small crack in the plastic behind the duals but not too noticeable. The bed rail cap is missing on the driver side.

Mechanical: It runs well. It hasn't been used much in the past year. It starts up easily even in the cold.  It had new injectors at approx 150,000 miles. The heads were done a year ago. Front tires are better then 60% tread remaining. Rear tires are about 35% remaining. Brake linings all have plenty of meat on them. It gets great fuel economy (18.8 mpg at 65 mph) and still runs strong. The transmission shifts smoothly and the 4X4 works fine.

Shipping/Transportation: I can assist in shipping for the truck at the buyer's expense (I'm a freight broker). I can also pick up the buyer at the Salt Lake City International or Provo Municipal airports. You will need to secure a temporary registration if you plan on driving it home.

Payment:  A deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of the close of the auction via wire, cash or PayPal. The balance is due within seven days of the auction close and prior to shipping/pickup. The title will be sent overnight within two business days of full payment.

GM Design shows what could have been and what might be

Thu, May 27 2021

We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) It's pretty easy to lose hours in the account, but it's always fascinating to see GM's visions of what could have been and what might be. Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.
