1998 Chevy Crewcab dually. Model 3500 Silverado, 1-ton. 2WD with a 5-speed (manual) tranny. 6.5 Turbo diesel FACTORY longblock replacement less than 3,000 miles ago. The original block failed thanks to Dexcool antifreeze, the orange stuff. Anyway, just turned 101,000 original miles. I am the second owner and the motor was replaced 3,000 miles ago by Stateline Diesels in Edwardsburg Michigan. South Carolina truck from new, bought @ Clinkscales Chevy in Greenville S.C. I have the original window sticker. Green with grey leather interior and all available options, tilt, cruise , A/C, CD player, ABS brakes, PW and locks. Leather interior has 1/2 inch rip / tear along the power adjust lumbar switch. Factory gooseneck hitch in the bed. It pulls my 30 foot enclosed car trailer 4 times per year with ease. Always stored indoors . Sprayed in bedliner as well. Remember, This is S. Carolina sheetmetal, zero rust. Sleeper cap along with Luverne runningboards all the way around. New tires & clutch @ 80,000 miles. Stainless Alcoa rims, simulators. 4.10 rearend and it runs great. No issues other than A/C needs to be charged once a season, it was a hot, hot Summer last year. Drips( does not burn) oil , less than 1/2 quart per oil change. Two small dents less than a quarter in size along the rear taillights. Chrome shines like new and highway MPG is 18 unloaded and 16 fully loaded. Factory warranty until 3/13 on the engine. As I stated , everything works as it should. My reason for selling, I bought a 4-wheel drive 3/4 ton . Located in SW Michigan, 45 minutes from S. Bend Indiana. The pictures do not show how clean this truck is. Power Driver's seat , both have lumbar support, dashboard & pad are perfect due to indoor storage. The cover on the hood is to keep the barn cats off of the hood. Never been in an accident and original paint shines nicely. The top of the sleeper cap will need paint. This truck has been well taken care of (by me) and never been driven hard . Not looking for any trades. No warranties expressed or implied. Clear title in my name. This truck is ready to drive coast to coast with no disappointments or surprises. Check my feedback and buy with confidence. Bidders with less than 10 positive feedbacks will be cancelled. $500.00 deposit (non-refundable) due 5 days after auction ends.I can gladly store indoors until April 1, 2013.

General Motors CEO Provides Few Details In Appearance Before Congress
Wed, Apr 2 2014It was only two months ago that Mary Barra, freshly crowned as the new General Motors chief executive officer, visited Washington DC as an esteemed guest of First Lady Michelle Obama for the State of the Union address. On Tuesday, Barra returned to the Capitol under more strained circumstances. For more than two contentious hours, she took questions from members of a House of Representatives subcommittee investigating General Motors years-long delay in initiating a recall of millions of vehicles that contained a defect that has killed at least 13 people. Why did GM accept faulty ignition switches that were below the company's set specfications? Why did GM learn about the problem in 2001 yet take no action until 2014? Will GM compensate victims' families even though the company's bankruptcy may limit its liability? Those were a few of the questions members of the House Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee asked. Few concrete answers were forthcoming. For her part, Barra sidestepped most of the questions, saying she wouldn't have information needed to answer them until an internal review is completed. David Friedman, the administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, testified after Barra. The biggest news that emerged from the hearing was that General Motors has retained attorney Kenneth Feinberg to advise the company on its civil and legal responsibilities. He has made a career of resolving disputes and serving in a 'fixer' role, serving as the chief of the federal government's September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, as an administrator of compensation fund for victims of the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster and a similar fund for victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. Barra, who has been GM's CEO since January but been with the company since 1980, expects to meet with Feinberg on Friday, and have a concrete plan within the next 30-60 days. Yet Barra would not say for certain Tuesday that GM would compensate the victims at all. Despite repeated questions from Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), Barra did not outline the company's intentions. "I assume GM is hiring (Feinberg) to help identify the size of claims and then compensate the victims? Is that right," DeGette asked. "Is GM willing to put together some kind of a compensation fund for these victims that Mr. Feinberg will then administer?" "We've hired him to help assess the situation," Barra replied. "So really, there's no money involved at this point," DeGette asked.
Chevy Bolt officially keeping name, says marketing boss
Thu, Apr 16 2015There might be just a little confusion at first, but the Bolt name is sticking around. After conducting two consumer studies into the name, Chevrolet isn't worried about the similarity of the monikers for the upcoming EV and existing Volt plug-in hybrid. In fact, the brand thinks the resemblance might be for the best. "The decision is made. The name won't be changed." Chevy head of marketing Tim Mahoney said to The Detroit Free Press. The research shows that the compatibility between the two names actually works quite well. With the Volt well established, people apparently already connect the Bolt to the Bowtie, which is just what a brand wants. Both studies indicated the ""same result, it did well," according to Mahoney. Just a few months ago, the future of the Bolt's name wasn't so clear. GM North America President Alan Batey said the company knew there might be confusion, and it was still mulling its options. The Bolt could be a breakthrough in the EV market with a 200-mile range and a possible price of around $30,000 after incentives. Production is set for the Orion Assembly plant in Michigan following a $200 million upgrade there, and the model could be in dealers as soon as 2017. That's just in time to take on the Tesla Model 3 with its claimed $35,000 price and similar driving distance as the Chevy. Related Video:
Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.
