Up for auction/sale here is my 2005 chevy silverado 2500hd. I've owned this truck since it was a year old. (2006) It has 100,254 miles on it. We are selling it to buy a new one. To start, we are located in northern wisconsin, in butternut, wi. We are 1 1/2 hrs north of wausau. or 50 miles south of ashland,wi. This truck has had amsoil synthetic oil in everything since Ive owned it. Motor, transmission, rear end, etc. This truck runs and drives EXELLENT, and needs nothing. This has the 6.0 litre gas motor, has tons of power! Automatic transmission, 4 wheel drive. EVERYTHING on this truck works as it should. It recently had new front brakes and rotors, spark plugs, wires, etc. It has K&N air filter, brush guard, stainless steel grille, stainless pipe nerf bars/steps (I have the NEW passenger side one not yet installed), matching topper, Has power locks, windows, mirrors, cd player, driving/fog lights, The bad is it has a few spots where paint is lifting, (see pics), the hood needs to be sanded and repainted, and there's a ding in the drivers fender/door that we straightened (see picture). Also the topper rear window needs to be replaced as it has cracks. (we will get it done once reserve is met) This also has moto metal rims, the tires are approx 70-80%. Also has the normal chevy tailgate problems, handle surround fell off, and it opens hard closes the same. The interior is good shape, the seats are perfect, we've had covers on them since we've had it. It also has an outside transmission cooler. This is a 4 door extended cab. We will also include the factory rims. If you have any questions , feel free to email me. Once you've paid the deposit, we will be happy to meet you anywhere in wisconsin with this. Thanks

1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28
Mon, Jan 12 2015Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won. Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.
