2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 on 2040-cars
Lexington, Massachusetts, United States
I am selling my 2013 Chevrolet 2500hd Duramax 4x4. It has the 6.6 LML Duramax Diesel Engine. This truck is rust
free. The entire underside chassis and frame have been treated with fluid film which repels water and prevents
rust.
Truck has 49,500 miles on it. It has had religious oil changes with royal purple 15w-40 and royal purple filter. I
keep the oil change intervals short between 5000 and 6500 miles.
Transmission is Allison 1000. Also serviced: with Transynd fluid and Mag-Hytec pan with added fluid capacity. I
change the spin on trans oil filter with every oil change.
Fuel System has the AirDog II 4G fuel prep system. Filters water and impurities out of the fuel. Delivering
exceptionally clean diesel to the pump and injectors. The factory filter has been replaced with a CAT filter setup.
The interior is clean and well kept. Non-smoker or any foreign smells of any kind. The A-pillar has a Glow Shift
gauge pod set up showing Exhaust Gas Temp. Fuel Line Pressure to pump and Turbo Boost Pressure.

Watch the National Corvette Museum sinkhole being filled in by R/C cars
Sun, Jan 11 2015Okay, so not exactly cars, but Bobcats - but still quite cool. You might remember that the National Corvette Museum had that little divot that needed to be filled in. Turns out the construction firm of Scott, Murphy & Daniel doing the work is using two remote-controlled Bobcats to fill the sinkhole with "manufactured sand," which in this case is crushed limestone. It appears that the Bobcat company has offered remote operation since at least 2007 via a wireless transmitter that works up to 1,500 feet away. So yes, that means two SMD employees stand on the edge of the pit and flick joystick levers for hours at a time, one in charge of a Bobcat with a roller-compactor attachment, the other in charge of a Bobcat with a bucket. And that, to us, is a pretty good way to earn the daily bread. Check out the video above for the latest sinkhole update. Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check
Fri, 01 Mar 2013Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
Watch the live reveal of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra [UPDATE]
Thu, 13 Dec 2012UPDATE: The trucks have been revealed. Click here for all of the official details.
As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.
