With much regret, I am listing my 2005 Chevy 2500 HD up for sale. It is a Crew Cab, Short Bed, 4x4 SLT package with power everything. I am the original owner of the vehicle, and has been solely driven by me. The truck has just over 129k miles on it, most of which is from freeway driving. The truck has not been used for towing very much at all. I have made a few upgrades to the truck, and it passes Smog (here in CA) with no problems. Upgrades include: Air Lift Helper Bags (rear bags installed, and manually inflated, compressor is new and needs to be installed), 5" exhaust from turbo back, with CAT welded back in, Bilstein shocks, trailer brake, and extensive stereo system installed. The truck just recently had a complete brake job, as well as a detail. It has never been in an accident, with the exception of my wife backing into the rear quarter panel, which has been professionally repaired.

ONLY KNOWN FLAWS WITH TRUCK:
-Drivers side Center arm rest is in bad shape from me driving with my elbow on it all the time.
-Rear Channel on one amp went bad, leaving you without rear speakers.
-Touchscreen on Avic N-3 flip up screen needs to be recalibrated to touch location
-Small 1/2" tear on the vinyl portion of rear back seat
-Few rock chips in paint on hood
-A few door dings from inconsiderate people
-Rock Chips in windshield, but all have been filled

GOOD about truck:
-Runs and drives great!
-Upgraded sound system with Infinity speakers, Rockford Fosgate amps, and 10" Sup in Pro Box. Everything is hidden and professionally installed. Just needs amp repaired or replaced and you will once again have a amazing sound system. Still sounds good as it is now.
-Chrome H2 Wheels with new BFG All Terrain tires (less than 1500 miles on them)
-New Brakes
-Wheel bearings already replaced, which was a huge problem with this truck, changed at about 90,000 miles
-Clean and clear title in hand
-1 owner truck, owned my a mechanic who performed all fluid changes ahead of schedule
-Everything works, including power seats, windows, mirrors, heated seats etc
-Truck was never used hard, and hardly used for towing.
-LOW RESERVE, wife wants it gone as it never gets used, and she wants to buy a house.

If you have any questions, please let me know. If any interested parties are local, I invite you to come and view/drive before bidding.

Truck is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to pull auction with 24 hours of its end if it sells locally.

If you request any other pictures, please let me know and I will do my best to accomodate.

Thank you, and good luck!

Engine block heater issues force GM to recall 324,226 diesel heavy duty trucks

Tue, May 7 2019

General Motors has issued a recall on 324,226 diesel heavy duty trucks that could be susceptible to short circuits, and consequently, potential fire. The recall affects several models of heavy duty Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierras with optional engine block heaters. GM is recalling seven different truck models spread across three years. The recall affects the 2017-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, 2017-2019 Silverado 3500HD, 2019 Silverado 4500HD, 2019 Silverado 5500HD, and 2019 Silverado 6500HD, plus the 2017-2019 GMC Sierra 2500HD and 2017-2019 Sierra 3500HD. Specifically, it includes these models with the 6.6-liter Duramax diesel engines and the optional engine block heater. The recall technically deals not with the engine block heater itself, but the way it is connected. According to NHTSA campaign No. 19V328000, the engine block heater cord or the terminals that link the cord to the heater could short circuit. A short circuit could potentially damage engine components and result in a fire. According to The Detroit News, 19 fires have been reported but nobody has been injured. GM has yet to figure out a fix, and thus has not yet released a notification schedule for affected customers. If you believe your vehicle is part of the recall, contact GM customer service at 1-586-596-1733 and use reference number N182206310.

Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.

Looking back on our favorite cars of Mad Men

Tue, Apr 7 2015

The second half of the seventh and final season of Mad Men debuted this week, set to cap a run of public and critical acclaim. A decade's worth of interesting cars also made for good television, if you were paying attention. Vehicles didn't often steal the spotlight from Don, Betty, Roger, Joan and the gang, but they added meaningfully to the tone and beauty of the series. We sorted through the wheeled extras from Mad Men's archives, and choose some of our favorites to highlight. The list consists of cars that had at least a small impact on the plot of an episode, though certainly there are worthy gems hiding in just about every street and driving scene. Check out our subjective top five, and then let us know which of the Mad Men cars would be on your list. 1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille – Season 2 Don Draper's Cadillac Coupe DeVille, all 500 feet of it, shows up in a few seasons of the show, but it's the first appearance that sets the tone. A Cadillac salesman, cut from the same cloth as Draper, asks what Don drives right now. "A Dodge," Don admits. "Those are wonderful if you want to get somewhere," allows the salesman, "this is for when you've already arrived." For a man on the move up corporate and social ladders that's a powerful message, and a pitch-perfect car. 1961 Lincoln Continental – Season 3 The most stylish Lincoln Continental ever is perfect set dressing for the mod show, of course. Though it's interesting that the car isn't cast as dapper Draper's ride, but rather his father-in-law's. Grandpa Gene does what all great grandfathers are bound to: lets his granddaughter Sally drive the big Lincoln while he works the pedals. Generational bond secured, in fine fashion. When you go back through the first three seasons of the show, you'll notice that Continentals show up more than once, too. There's nothing quite like them to evoke the best of the early '60s. 1963 John Deere 110 – Season 3 The only non-standard passenger vehicle on the list, no self-respecting gearhead/Mad Men fan should quibble with the inclusion of the John Deere 110 riding mower. For starters, the Deere is lovely to look at; a miniature version of the American Heartland icon in its green and yellow duds. The 110 appears as if milled from a solid block of steel, just the opposite of today's sleek, plasticky lawn minders (we're scouring Craigslist for one to bring home). The John Deere also has dear ramifications to the plot, too.
