So about the truck, It has been my personal truck for the past 4 years. I bought it from Denooyer Chevrolet in Albany, NY when I was employee there. I knew the history of the truck when it was traded in by a local property maintenance company. They would drop the truck off and say “do whatever it needs”. They traded the truck in at about 80,000 miles. It had a 7.5 foot fisher snowplow, I did plow driveways with it for 2 winters, It does have some rust underneath, like some on the exhaust and little parts here and there, it was a NY truck most of its life however it was a VERY clean truck compared to others, and the important parts have been replaced, or upgraded to stainless It also had a really good dealer rust proofing done, and I had it redone when I got it. A couple years after I bought it I sold the plow and moved to southern California. I towed my 16 foot enclosed trailer loaded up with my stuff from NY to CA, 3,000 miles with absolutely no problem, including up the hill out of the Mojave desert in 95 degrees, no overheating, nothing. Towed perfect, watched all the gauges including the transmission temp gage (which is an option) and it was great. Sold my trailer, used the truck to fix up the house I bought here, hauled old carpet mounded over the roof of the truck with little to no sqatting, a full pallet of hardwood flooring, gallons and gallons of paint, and then… parked it in the garage. It rolls out of the garage about once a month, I use it to bring my dirtbike to a riding spot, took it on the fire access roads a couple times, picked up my dad and his luggage at LAX airport twice, other than that it sits. I have put 1,000 miles on it in the past 3 months. I have no use for a 3/4 ton truck anymore, I would rather have half ton to save some money on gas. The other real problem we have is that our other car is a 2 seater sports car that can’t even hold luggage, we have no kids but we do have family come to visit regularly and having 2 vehicles with no back seats has become an issue. I have purchased a 2007 Chevy Silverado z71 1500 extended cab, so this super reliable, clean, work or tow truck is for sale. THE ONLY BUMMER IS IT MAKES MY NEW TRUCK LOOK LIKE A 2WD! IT SITS 3 INCHES HIGHER THAN MY NEW ONE!
I am listing it on local craigslist, and ebay. Feel confident that you can fly in if need be and drive this truck anywhere in the United States. I just changed the oil even though it was not quite due so that you could drive it to the far corner of Maine if you had to and not have to stop to worry about an oil change on the way. With the major servicing 10k miles ago, good tires, new brakes, and a new GM fuel pump, I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere.
CLEAN NY TITLE, NO LIENS TO DEAL WITH, still registered and insured but make arrangements for yourself to drive it before picking up. I am willing to deal face to face, or talk on the phone. Send me a message with your phone number and I will call you. I am reserving the right to end auction early due to local sale! |

Nissan Leaf keeps plug-in vehicle sales crown for 6th straight month
Thu, May 1 2014And Nissan makes it 14 in a row. For the 14th straight month, the all-electric Leaf has had "record sales," according to Nissan's marketing team. What that means is that for that particular month (in this case, April) no matter what year you look at, the car sold more than it ever did before. For April 2014, the 2,088 Leafs sold represents a 7.8-percent increase from 2013. Nissan's director of EV sales and marketing, Toby Perry, said in a statement that the "new market" of Cincinnati made the top 25 list for Leaf sales areas in April, so the car's popularity continues to ebb and flow across the US. Over at Chevy, the Volt sold 1,548 units in April, reaching a year-to-date total of 5,154. The Leaf is outpacing that with 7,272 YTD sales. In 2013, the Volt outsold the Leaf by about 500 vehicles, but Leaf sales are up 33 percent year-over-year while Volt is down 7.1 percent. The Leaf has also outsold the Volt for six straight months. But we're excited for every eco-car sale, and that's why we'll have our monthly detailed write-up of the rest of the plug-ins, hybrids and diesel vehicles available soon. Until then, discuss. Car Club USA: Louisiana Mudfest
Tue, Jun 16 2015There's nothing quite like mudding. Big tires, huge power, and crazy-wild gearheads that like to throw down on a mud pit almost as much as a thirty rack of Coors. In the latest, and some might argue greatest yet episode of Car Club USA, we head to Louisiana to throw some dirt at Mudfest. As Louisiana's one and only Mouth of the South puts it, "If you don't mud ride... go to Texas I guess." Joining The Mouth and friendly rivals The Most Hated Mud Sluts, we dive in. Beyond the obvious V8 blasting and tractor-tire spinning, those who know best describe Mudfest as, "Good cooking, good friends, good fun, and a lot of partying." It's a motorsport spectacle unlike any you're likely to find up North or out West, though no less impressive to behold. Follow along with the fun, the impromptu drag racing, the trash talking, and the mechanical madness. And find out why, at Mudfest, "if we don't tear it up, we ain't done it right." Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. From Main Street cruises to off-road trails, catch all the latest car club activity on Autoblog. Chevrolet Ford Jeep RAM Truck Off-Road Vehicles Car Club USA Videos autoblog black
Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car
Wed, 20 Feb 2013We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
