1999 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Lt Extended Cab Pickup 3-door 6.0l on 2040-cars
Salem, Kentucky, United States
1999 2500 ext cab 3 door ls silverado- 272,000 miles, 6.0 vortec, auto, 4wd floor shift, rear defrost, power windows, locks, seats.
Good running farm truck. I say farm truck due to the use of the truck. It has some small dents here and there and some scratches. Missing a tailgate, rear bumper is rusted out and has dent, its intact but the inner structure is gone on the rear bumper. Ac is not working and the abs isnt working so the abs motor is unplugged(located under driver floor on frame rail)needs parking brake cable.rear calipers replaced and pads and parking brake shoes and backing plates. Has dual electric fans and cold air intake. Needs alignment and font end work tie rods etc.. Will need tires soon. Driver door panel has crack and carpet is dirty and steering wheel has wear. Truck rides rough, has a 2" lift. Moto metal chrome 16" wheels. Cab corners and rocker panels replaced and then sprayed with scorpion bedliner(lower half of truck was gold, ugly) has rhino liner in bed. Truck runs fine and pulls well, I wouldn't want to drive it every day (13 mpg) and it rides rough to me. Understand that you are bidding on a truck that needs some repairs to be 100%. I still drive it regularly so miles will go up. reserve is 3,000$ have any questions call or text 270-703-3325. On Apr-15-14 at 12:48:50 PDT, seller added the following information: The reserve has been lowered to 1300.00 The rear brake calipers have been replaced along with the backing plates and parking brake shoes and one rotor. |

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why
Sun, 27 Jan 2013Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.
Leaked GM document shows GMC Sierra I6 diesel is more powerful than F-150's
Thu, Oct 4 2018GM told us earlier this year that the 2019 GMC Sierra would be getting a 3.0-liter I6 diesel option, but it never mentioned power or fuel economy figures. Hold the phone though, because a leaked GM Canada document just showed up online that lists out the details we've been waiting for. Originally published by TFL Truck, the 3.0-liter oil-burner supposedly makes 282 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. For those who are counting, that's more than the Ford F-150's 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet from its 3.0-liter diesel. It soundly bests the 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque from Ram's 3.0-liter diesel as well. Fuel economy is another story, though. The promotional material states that it will get 28 mpg on the highway, which is 2 mpg short of the F-150's 30 mpg — mind you, it's only capable of that magical 30 mpg figure in rear-wheel drive form. There's another caveat here, too; these are numbers for Canada, so they're not exactly finalized EPA figures. However, we wouldn't expect drastic differences between the two when the American numbers come out. The leaked documents also state the diesel Sierra will be capable of towing 7,800 pounds. That number seems remarkably low when compared to the F-150, which can tow up to 11,400 pounds with its diesel. Extra power and torque would have us assume that GM could get even better numbers than Ford, so we're going to hold our final judgment for official word. A 10-speed automatic will do the shifting on the diesel, just like on the 6.2-liter V8. Since the Chevy Silverado is also expected to get this engine, we can assume the figures would be almost, if not identical, to those we see here. We recently drove the 2019 Sierra and Silverado without the diesel engines, so go check those reviews out if you'd like to know more of our thoughts on the redesigned GM trucks. Related video:
