Supercharged 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Lt Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 5.3l on 2040-cars
Lubbock, Texas, United States
For sale is a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT2 Z71 Crew Cab 4-dr 4wd with a Whipple Supercharger and Snow Performance Water/Methanol Injection Kit. I am the original owner of the pickup and have had all of the work done by professionals. The truck had the whole engine replaced because I kept hearing a knocking sound in the engine and wanted it fixed before the truck was out of warranty(shown in carfax report). I added a Whipple supercharger and Snow Performance water/methanol injection kit around 50,000 miles on the truck, about 20,000 miles on the engine. The truck ran 11.13 in the quarter mile on stock tires and 103 octane (tuned at track) at 11 PSI boost but not sure total power. Mildly tuned on dyno with 93 octane, 570 HP and 678 Ft-LBS. Truck was only raced at the track for 7 passes. The truck was driven to car shows and has not been abused, most of the miles are from travelling on the highway. Truck runs perfectly and still has more power potential by just upgrading fuel delivery and re-tuning but I am starting a family and don't have a need for a hot rod pickup anymore. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me and I can e-mail the CarFax report. I tried to take as many pictures as I could to illustrate everything and modifications are listed below:
-Whipple Supercharger @ 11 PSI -Snow Performance Water/Methanol Injection 75HP shot @ 6 PSI boost -ARP Head Studs -DOD Delete Kit -LS2 Chain Dampener -LS7 Lifters and trays -Comp Cams Custom Camshaft: 210/214 .556"/.559" 114 LSA+2 -PAC Beehive LS1 .600" Lift Single Spring -Texas Speed and Performance chromemoly pushrods -RPM Transmissions Level VII 4L70E transmisison, billet input, pump rotor, and output shaft -Precision triple disk 2500 stall torque converter -B&M HD Coooler -Pillar cluster w/Chevy Logo Boost and Air/Fuel Gauges -3 position booster drive-by-wire throttle delay eliminator for stock, sport, and race mode(without modifying tune) -2.5" dual exhaust with X-pipe and two Flow Master Super 44s Truck comes with: -1 set factory wheels and tires -1 set factory wheels and 33x12.50x18 Nitto Mud Grapplers -Frontier Extreme Grill guard (taken off to run quarter mile)with Hella Off Road lights -Innovate LM-2 Wideband -HP tuner and VCM suite software with 8 GM credits -4 bottles of supercharger oil -7 Gallons of Snow Performance 50/50 methanol -all of the original parts that were replaced ie camshaft, intake, etc. -UWS tool chest -both sets of keys with remote entry Shipping: Will put it on a trailer and ship it up to 500 miles for free from Lubbock, Texas anything over 500 miles please contact me to make arrangements. |

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs
Thu, 03 Jan 2013General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. 2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven
Wed, Feb 8 2023POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods. However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows. Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS. Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence. Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.
