CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS

I'M SELLING OFF MY LOW MILEAGE TOYS TO BUILD A GARAGE

YOU ARE LOOKING AT MY 2012 CHEVROLET SILVERADO CREW CAB LTZ 4WD PICKUP TRUCK. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK LAST JUNE BRAND NEW OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR, SO IT'S HARD FOR ME TO LET IT GO, BUT I HAVE TO IF MY GARAGE PLANS ARE GOING TO GO THROUGH. REMEMBER, THIS TRUCK RETAINS ALL FACTORY WARRANTIES. BELOW IS A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE TRUCK.

EXTERIOR:

THE TRUCK HAS A WONDERFUL FACTORY BLACK PAINT JOB. EVERYTHING ON THE TRUCK WAS BLACK EXCEPT FOR THE REAR BUMPER AND THE GRILLE WHEN I PURCHASED IT, WHICH I THINK DIDN'T QUITE LOOK RIGHT. SO , I ORDERED A GM PAINTABLE REAR BUMPER AND GRILLE ASSEMBLY, ADDED A BILLET BOWTIE, THEN HAD THEM SPRAYED TO COMPLETE THE ALL BLACK THEME. I TOOK OFF ALL THE BADGES EXCEPT FOR THE RED VORTEC MAX EMBLEMS, GIVES IT A NICE TOUCH I THINK. NOT REALLY MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THE EXTERIOR BECAUSE IT IS BASICALLY A NEW TRUCK. ONLY IMPERFECTIONS I CAN FIND ARE A DING IN THE FRONT FENDER BESIDE THE HEADLAMP ABOUT THE SIZE OF DIME AND A FAINT SCRATCH ON THE FRONT OF THE HOOD. GONNA HAVE THE SCRATCH BUFFED THIS WEEK AND I THINK THE DING CAN BE PUSHED OUT BY A PAINTLESS DENT GUY. I ADDED THE FACTORY 22'' WHEEL AND TIRE PACKAGE THAT GM WAS OFFERING AT THE TIME, IT CAME WITH CHROME 20'' WHEELS BUT THERE WAS TO MUCH GAP IN THE FENDER WELLS WITH THOSE I THOUGHT. THERE IS A SCUFF ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL FROM SOMETHING, BUT IT IS VERY HIDDEN ON THAT SHINEY CHROME. THE TRUCK SIT A LITTLE HIGHER IN THE REAR, SO I PUT A 2'' LOWER SHACKLE TO LEVEL IT OUT. LOOKS NICE.

INTERIOR:

THIS BEING SO NEW, THERE IS NOT MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THE INTERIOR EXCEPT PERFECT, STILL SMELLS NEW. BEING AN LTZ IT HAS ALMOST EVERY OPTION AVAILABLE, HEATED SEATS, POWER SLIDING REAR WINDOW, EASY LOAD TAILGATE, ETC. THE ONLY ONES IT DIDN'T HAVE WERE THE POWER SUNROOF, FACTORY NAVIGATION, AND REAR ENTERTAINMENT. I WANTED IT THIS EXACT WAY, I HATE SUNROOFS DUE TO LEAKS, I'VE HAD SEVERAL NEW GM VEHICLES WITH NAVIGATION AND ALWAYS HAD SOME KIND OF PROBLEM, I AM PRETTY MUCH THE ONLY ONE IN THE TRUCK SO REAR ENTERTAINMENT WOULD BE A WASTE. I DID WANT SOME FORM OF COOL SCREEN NAVIGATION COMBO SO I HAD BEST BUY INSTALL THE NEW PIONEER SET UP. NO CUTTING OR DRILLING, WENT RIGHT IN, SIRIUS RADIO, IPOD, ALL THE GOODIES AND TWICE AS MANY OPTIONS AS THE FACTORY UNIT.

DRIVETRAIN:

THIS BABY HAS THE POWERFUL L94 6.2 LITER VORTEC MAX GAS ENGINE BACKED UP BY A 6 SPEED ALLISON AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. SHE PUTS DOWN 403 HORSE POWER AND 417 FOOT POUNDS OF TORQUE ALL WHILE DOING 0-60 IN ABOUT 6.6 SECONDS. IT HAS THE FACTORY MAX TRAILERING PACKAGE WHICH FEATURES THE ELECTRIC TRAILER BRAKES THAT ARE ADJUSTABLE ON THE DASH, ALSO THE TOW HAUL REDUCER ON THE SHIFTER, THIS REDUCES THROTTLE PEDAL ACTIVITY WHEN TRAVELING OVER ROUGH STUFF AND HAULING HEAVY LOADS. ALSO HAS THE TRAILER SWAY CONTROL WHICH SENSES WHEN A TRAILER STARTS TO SWAY AND AUTOMATICALLY APPLIES THE TRUCK'S BRAKES AND REDUCES ENGINE POWER. THIS HAUS WILL TOW 10,000 POUNDS ALL DAY LONG. IT HAS ONLY BEEN IN 4WD ONCE AND THAT WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP THE DAY I PURCHASED IT.

THIS TRUCK STICKERED OUT AT OVER $45,000, $3300 WHEEL & TIRE PACKAGE, $1500 BUMPER/GRILLE ASSEMBLY, $800 NAVIGATION SYSTEM, THIS TRUCK IS JUST RIGHT. IT WOULD TAKE AT AROUND $50,000 TO DUPLICATE THIS TRUCK IN A 2013 MODEL. I SEARCHED THE WHOLE LOWER HALF THE COUNTRY TO FIND THIS EXACT TRUCK WITH THESE OPTIONS, THEN SPENT A BUNCH OF MONEY MAKING IT JUST RIGHT, BUT I'VE STARTED A NEW GARAGE, SO IT NEEDS TO GO. IT'S A GOOD DEAL, BUT PLEASE, I WON'T GIVE IT AWAY. I NEED TO SELL IT, DON'T HAVE TO. CHECK MY FEEDBACK, ALL MY BUYERS ARE VERY SATISFIED WITH THE DESCRIPTIONS OF MY VEHICLES. I'VE SOLD VEHICLES OVER THE PHONE FROM MIAMI TO SEATTLE WITH NO PROBLEMS. INSPECTIONS ARE MORE THAN WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED BUT THERE ARE NO DISAPPOINTMENTS HERE. IF YOU HAVE A FEEDBACK SCORE LESS THAN 10 OR HAVE A NEGATIVE RATING, PLEASE EMAIL ME BEFORE BIDDING OR IT WILL BE CANCELED. SORRY BUT THESE ADS COST ALOT OF MONEY. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND TAKE CARE.

GM finds steering flaw, decides it doesn't warrant a recall

Tue, Apr 14 2015

Guess what? General Motors is back in the spotlight for not recalling something. This time, though, not only does the company have an argument against a recall campaign, but its position is supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to The New York Times, over 50 owners of GM vehicles have reported instances of stuck or seized steering after driving long distances without moving the wheel. One owner complained to NHTSA that the "locked" steering of their 2013 Buick Verano caused a collision with a concrete barrier in a construction zone. Along with the 2013 to 2014 model year Verano sedans, Chevrolet Cruze and Malibu sedans are also affected. Considering the popularity of those models, GM needs to have a reason for not issuing a recall, right? "Based on a very low rate of occurrence – ranging from less than one half to less than two incidents per thousand vehicles – and the fact that the condition is remedied when the wheel is turned, GM determined this was not a safety issue," spokesman Alan Adler told The Times. The company has, however, issued a technical service bulletin for owners that complain of the problem. The fix is nothing more than a software update that is covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles from new. NHTSA cited GM's actions, along with descriptions of the problems from customers, in its decision not to issue a recall, with spokeswoman Catherine Howden saying, "the symptoms described would be a brief, perceptible change in steering feel that has little to no effect on the driver's ability to safely steer the vehicle." "When terms like 'notchy,' 'stick,' 'slip' or 'feel' are used, it does not indicate a meaningful increase in steering effort," Howden told The Times via email. What do you think? Is GM in the wrong here? Should there be a recall, or is the issue so limited as to not warrant one? Have your say in Comments. Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test

Tue, Oct 25 2016

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:

Looking back on our favorite cars of Mad Men

Tue, Apr 7 2015

The second half of the seventh and final season of Mad Men debuted this week, set to cap a run of public and critical acclaim. A decade's worth of interesting cars also made for good television, if you were paying attention. Vehicles didn't often steal the spotlight from Don, Betty, Roger, Joan and the gang, but they added meaningfully to the tone and beauty of the series. We sorted through the wheeled extras from Mad Men's archives, and choose some of our favorites to highlight. The list consists of cars that had at least a small impact on the plot of an episode, though certainly there are worthy gems hiding in just about every street and driving scene. Check out our subjective top five, and then let us know which of the Mad Men cars would be on your list. 1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille – Season 2 Don Draper's Cadillac Coupe DeVille, all 500 feet of it, shows up in a few seasons of the show, but it's the first appearance that sets the tone. A Cadillac salesman, cut from the same cloth as Draper, asks what Don drives right now. "A Dodge," Don admits. "Those are wonderful if you want to get somewhere," allows the salesman, "this is for when you've already arrived." For a man on the move up corporate and social ladders that's a powerful message, and a pitch-perfect car. 1961 Lincoln Continental – Season 3 The most stylish Lincoln Continental ever is perfect set dressing for the mod show, of course. Though it's interesting that the car isn't cast as dapper Draper's ride, but rather his father-in-law's. Grandpa Gene does what all great grandfathers are bound to: lets his granddaughter Sally drive the big Lincoln while he works the pedals. Generational bond secured, in fine fashion. When you go back through the first three seasons of the show, you'll notice that Continentals show up more than once, too. There's nothing quite like them to evoke the best of the early '60s. 1963 John Deere 110 – Season 3 The only non-standard passenger vehicle on the list, no self-respecting gearhead/Mad Men fan should quibble with the inclusion of the John Deere 110 riding mower. For starters, the Deere is lovely to look at; a miniature version of the American Heartland icon in its green and yellow duds. The 110 appears as if milled from a solid block of steel, just the opposite of today's sleek, plasticky lawn minders (we're scouring Craigslist for one to bring home). The John Deere also has dear ramifications to the plot, too.
