From what I can tell the Insurance company purchased it, fixed it and I bought it so I consider it coming from the original owner and I have driven this truck for the last 3000 miles and it drives perfectly. I delivered the truck to a friends shop to align it, we found the upper ball joints showing some wear so we replaced the upper control arm assemblies and sway bar links and then he aligned it. I did this because of slight wear and with new tires I wanted the front end tight so the new tires would wear properly and I take good care of my vehicles. This truck is in perfect working order to the best of my knowledge. It was my intention to keep it and now my circumstances have changed. I personally flew in to Miami and drove it home to Illinois. Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years
Wed, Jun 25 2014A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.
Reuss says GM diesel plans are still on pace
Fri, Oct 16 2015General Motors is not going to let Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal ruin its plans for a new line of efficient, torquey oil-burners, the company's Executive Vice President Mark Reuss said at a recent press event. "No way," Reuss responded when asked about cancelling the upcoming diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze and other vehicles. "The Cruze Diesel is too good not to do it." Slated for 2017, the compact is just the latest member of a diesel offensive that initially kicked off with the first Cruze Diesel and most recently saw the introduction of the oil-burning Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. Reuss also reassured those in attendance that there was "no delay" in development of Cadillac's diesel lineup. Cadillac is working on a line of four- and six-cylinder turbodiesels for Europe. They'd make their way into the US market, too, eventually. "It's a question of timing," Reuss said, according to Car and Driver. Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal has caused automakers across the globe to at least reanalyze their diesel strategy. Jaguar Land Rover, which is preparing several diesel-powered models for the US market, went on record late last month to reaffirm its commitment to diesel. NHTSA approves hybrid rearview mirror display in Cadillac CT6, Bolt EV
Tue, Feb 23 2016The Chevy Bolt EV prototype doesn't just have a fancy new all-electric powertrain. Just outside the driver's line of sight is a newfangled rearview mirror, one that can turn into a screen that shows a moving image from the rear-facing camera. Speaking to NPR's Robert Siegel yesterday, Department of Transportation secretary Anthony Foxx said that NHTSA has now approved this type of mirror/screen for use in vehicles. According to a letter from NHTSA to General Motors, GM will likely use this Full Display Mirror first in the 2016 Cadillac CT6 before coming to the Bolt. In its letter to GM, NHTSA said that the Full Display Mirror will only qualify as a standard rearview mirror as long as there are normal side mirrors in place. The FDM debuted in 2014 and some people hoped it would also make its way into the Tesla Model X. Gentex, which also makes auto-dimming mirrors, says that it has "set out to develop the technologies and core competencies necessary to manage this evolution of the rearview mirror." The Chevy Bolt EV will start at $37,500, before incentives. The 200-mile EV will go into production late this year for likely sale in early 2017. Related Video:
