IT HAS 137K PAMPERED HIWAY MILES AND IT REALLY SHOWS. MY FIRST TRUCK WAS AN 04 SILVERADO WITH THE 5.3 ENGINE AND I DROVE IT OVER 500K BEFORE SELLING. THIS TRUCK IF TAKEN CARE OF AS I DO WILL LAST SOMEONE A VERY LONG TIME. I HAVE CHANGED OIL AND FILTER, LESS THAN 10K MILES AGO REPLACE PLUGS AND WIRES, HAD DEALERSHIP DO A FULL TRANSMISSION SERVICE WHICH MEANT DROPPING PAN AND REPLACING FILTER AND ALL NEW OIL NOT A SIPHONING JOKE AS SOME CALL A SERVICE? HAVE HAD TIRES ROTATED AND BALANCED AND TREAD IS ABOUT 70%  ON FRONT AND 90% ON BACK. DOES NOT SHAKE SHIMMY OR ANY OTHER NON-SENSE.DOES NOT USE OIL BETWEEN CHANGES AND ALWAYS USE 5.5 QUARTS OF CASTROL WITH .5 QUART OF LUCAS SAME AS ORIGINAL OWNER DID. 4 WHEEL DRIVE HAS NEVER BEEN USED BUT TO PUT IN AND OUT TO MAKE SURE IT WORKS ONCE IN A WHILE. NEW BRAKES ALL THE WAY AROUND ABOUT A YEAR AGO. NEVER TOWED ANYTHING OTHER THAN A SMALL LAWNMOWER TRAILER TO HAVE MY MOWER SERVICED AND A PONTOON I PULLED TO RIVER 20 MILES AWAY ABOUT 5 TIMES TOTAL.THATS THE REASON FOR THE SMALL DING IN BUMPER. I HAVE SOLD PONTOON AS MY SON HAS ONE NOW AND I WILL CATCH A RIDE WITH HIM IF NEEDED. YOU CAN CALL ME ANYTIME BETWEEN 7AM AND 10PM WITH ANY QUESTIONS. {{{205 577 5701}}} I AM NOT LIKE SOME WHO TRY TO HIDE THINGS. I WILL TELL YOU EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT THE TRUCK. ONLY REASON FOR SELLING IS I AM RETIRED NOW AND HAVE PURCHASED A SMALL CAR JUST TO RUN TO TOWN AND BACK. LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST AND ENJOYING EVERY MOMENT.

2015 Chevy Colorado takes Motor Trend Truck of the Year calipers [w/videos]

Wed, Dec 3 2014

The final winner of Motor Trend's prestigious Golden Calipers has been named, with the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado taking the title of 2015 Truck of the Year, likely shocking those who thought Ford's all-aluminum, next-generation F-150 would take the crown. But win the Colorado did, beating not only the new Ford, but two other brutish Blue Ovals in the F-450 and Transit. The midsize pickup also bested its brethren from General Motors, beating the heavy-duty Chevy Silverado 3500, GMC Sierra Denali 2500 and the GMC Canyon, the Colorado's fraternal twin. After an unprecedented two-year stint with the Golden Calipers, Ram sat this year's awards out. Most impressive about the Colorado's victory isn't that it simply beat the US market's other trucks, it did so with a unanimous vote. Praise from MT's editors focused on the trucklet's price, spacious interior, fit and finish and performance. Former Autoblog staffer Jonny Lieberman called the Colorado's steering the best he'd "ever experienced on any truck, full stop," in MT's awards article. "After days of testing, hundreds of miles on the road, and our most rigorous truck testing program to date, our editors unanimously selected the Chevy Colorado as our 2015 Truck of the Year," said MT boss Edward Loh. "Colorado is a smart, capable, and refreshingly honest truck that makes a strong value and efficiency statement. It's perfectly sized and suited for the needs of many of today's truck users." The Colorado joins the 2015 Volkswagen Golf and 2015 Honda CR-V among Motor Trend 2015 award winners. Scroll down for video commentary from General Motors CEO Mary Barra, Loh and a clip of the Golden Calipers being handed over. Also, check out GM's full press release on its big win. GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.

GM profits threatened by glut of pickups

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.
