Up for sale is my 2002 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab 1500 HD, the "Heavy Half".   I am the second owner.  It is a 6 passenger truck.  It currently has a PA inspection good thru 4/14.  A little over a year ago I had new towing side mirrors, a new bed liner (and rubber bed mat), bug deflector, tinted window vents, chrome tubular side steps, billet grill, diamond plated bed rails (w/ tie down latches), and a true (manifold back) dual FlowMaster 400 exhaust system installed.  The exhaust system sounds great.  The previous owner installed a KnN Air filter system that you can see in the pictures.  I had a new brake controller installed about a year ago.  And if you didn't notice in the pictures I removed all the decals (Silverado, 1500HD, LS, etc.) on the truck.

Last August I installed four new shocks.  This spring the ball joints (upper and lower) and the tie rods were replaced.  I also installed 4 new Cooper Discoverer 265/75R16 All Terrain Tires (about 1,000 miles now) in April before the inspection was due.  The olds tires probably weren't going to pass PA inspection.

The truck has no rust but does have the occasional surface scratches most trucks that are 11 years old have.  The ABS light is always on so I'm guessing this no longer works but I'm not sure.  The 1,2,4,5 preset radio buttons on the radio work as they should but don't light up when the interior lights are on at night.  Other then that everything on this truck works as it should.  I have never had an issue with this truck since I bought it.

I have it for sale locally (asking $11,900) so the auction could end at any time.  If you are local and are interested in taking a look at the truck please send me a message.  Thanks and happy bidding.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.

2016 Chevy Volt powertrain video teasers

Fri, Oct 31 2014

If there's one thing we've learned about plug-in vehicle fans, you have a thing for seeing your cars get made. The series of videos showing BMW i3 production was strangely popular, as were the shots from inside the VW e-Golf plant. Well, with General Motors pulling the veil off of the 2016 Chevy Volt this week, it's time to take a peek at the production process for that vehicle as well. You're welcome. Up first we've got a clip from CNN Money showing a little bit about how the new Volt's new battery pack and other powertrain components are made. Those of you who are trying to read the lithium tea leaves and see if the new shape reveals that the 2016 Volt will have five seats might want to check it out. Then we've got two clips from GM itself, one showing an animation about the updated Voltec powertrain and another with some B Roll of the old Volt. Since GM doesn't want us to see the new car quite yet, we'll have to enjoy this for now. Watch below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.
