For sale we have my 2000 Silverado 4x4 with only 106,000 miles. I have owned the truck for around 2 1/2 years. It runs and drives great. The truck has the powerful 5.3 V8 engine (many people call it a "327") coupled with the four speed automatic transmission. The truck has an ideal equipment package in my opinion. I suspect it was a special order by the original owner. It has tilt steering wheel and cruise but crank windows and manual door locks. Also the truck has a split cloth seat but no carpet. Instead it has the rubber/vinyl floor covering that easily wipes out if you happen to use it like a truck and get a little dirt in the floor. The truck also has cold A/C, a great heater, sliding back glass, a bedliner, frame mounted tow hitch, 17" aluminum wheels, and a nice aftermarket AM/FM/CD stereo. There are no cracks in the dash and no tears in the seats. Also I park this truck on my concrete drive and it leaves absolutely no drips of any kind underneath. The truck has four wheel disc brakes. The pads and rotors were replaced on all four wheels within the last 7,000 miles. The front hub and bearing assemblies were both replaced in that period of time as well. The truck has a check engine light on currently. I took it to my local Chevy dealer and had it scanned. They said the oxygen sensors on the exhaust need to be replaced. I never got around to getting it done because it doesn't impact the performance of the truck in any way. If you check on EBAY the oxygen sensors can be purchased for as little as $22 each. The tires are not new but have plenty of life left. The truck does have the typical noisy idle that most 5.3 Chevy's have at start up when cold. This generally lasts from several seconds to a minute or so depending on the outside temperature and how cold the engine may be. I have talked to GM technicians and private garages about this. Both tell me it is typical and not to be concerned. The truck uses no oil between changes and as I said before leaks none either. There are of course scuffs and scratches but nothing serious. The worst spot on the body is above the rear tire on the drivers side where the paint has bubbled and cracked. I have included a picture of this area. Also the spare tire is probably original and appears to have been used quite a bit at some time in the past.

The truck is being sold "AS IS" with NO WARRANTY. Any questions are welcome. Just send them through EBAY message. Terms of sale are cash in hand or bank transfer. $500 deposit required at the end of auction via paypal. The buyer will be responsible for tax, title, and transfer fees.  I do not need help selling it and I am not interested in trading on anything.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head

Fri, Jan 30 2015

"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:

Meet the mother-daughter team that's worked on almost every Chevy Volt

Sun, May 11 2014

It's Mother's Day, and we're soft enough we love our mothers enough to share a new video from General Motors with you. In it, we meet Monique Watson (left) and Evetta Osbourne, a mother-daughter team that works at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly where GM makes the Chevy Volt (along with all of GM's other plug-in hybrids: the Opel Ampera, Holden Volt and Cadillac ELR). The two work side-by-side and have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on almost all of those vehicles - nearly 80,000 of them - since GM started making the pre-production Volts in 2009. In a prepared statement, Watson said that she likes working next to her mom, day in and day out, and they the two are totally in sync when it comes to putting the 400-pound, 16.5-kWh packs into the vehicle undersides. They two can also share stories throughout the day, and Watson said, "The arrangement has absolutely improved our relationship." Osborne started working at Detroit-Hamtramck in 1999, Watson since 2006. If you're driving a Volt today, you probably have them to thank for doing a bit of the work putting your car together. See a short video of them in action below. It's Always Mother's Day for Detroit-Hamtramck Duo Mother, daughter install lithium-ion battery pack in nearly all GM electric vehicles 2014-05-08 DETROIT – For Detroit resident Evetta Osborne, every day is Mother's Day. That's because she literally works side by side with her daughter, Monique Watson, at General Motors' Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. They have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on nearly every Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera, Holden Volt, and Cadillac ELR since production began. In fact, apart from vacation days and an occasional sick day, the mother-daughter duo has installed almost every battery pack since the Volt was in pre-production in 2009. The ELR launched earlier this year. All told – including Ampera – that's more than 80,000 electric vehicles. "We're a good team and our relationship is secondary when it comes to performing our jobs – but it's great to work alongside my daughter, said Osborne, a mother of five. Because the battery packs weigh more than 400 pounds each, automatic guided vehicles – robotic carts that use sensors to follow a path through the plant – deliver them just as the vehicle body structures glide into position overhead. The carts then lift the T-shaped packs, and Osborne and Watson guide them into the chassis and secure each one with 24 fasteners.
