Read all before you bid. This is a No Reserve auction!

This auction is for a 1999 Chevy stepside Z71.

Condition of the truck is as follows. The paint is good with no clear peeling. There are some

scratches dents and dings. Small ding on hood see photo. Slight dent in drivers door (thanks to my daughter and her bike). Left rear of the bed down by the tailgate there is a crack. Also shown in photos.

There is a scratch on the right side of the bed that has been touched up.

Ok so the rest of the body is in good shape for a truck like this. Just want to describe the condition the best I can so there are no suprizes. Other than that the windshild has a crack. The drivers seat has a spot the sitching has come loose. All of these things I have taken photos of and can be viewed in the photos.

Now for the good stuff! The engine is a 5.3 V8 it starts right up sounds good runs good no funny smells smoke or problems. Transmission is a automatic it shifts good and pulls good. Push button 4X4 works good to your choice of 4high 4low 2wheel or there is also a selection for on demand 4X4.

Rims are custom 17" Ultras tires are good and still have quite a bit of tread left.

Grey cloth int. is in pretty good shape. Custom sony stereo I use a thumb drive with

my music loaded on it. Also has a Kicker 500watt amp and a 10" sub is under the center console.

A.R.E fiberglass bed topper was painted to match.

Power windows/locks, tilt, cruise, heat/ac, sliding back glass.

for a 1999 this is just a pretty good ole truck id trust it to go anywhere I wanted to go.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

This is a NO RESERVE auction highest bidder and the end will own it.

payment due with in 4days of auctions end. Cash or Check. If payed for with a check it must clear my bank before truck leaves my property.

I reserve the right to end this auction if I have a in-person cash sale for $4995.00

Thanks and good luck with your bid!

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Pushing Back: GM expanding Chevrolet into Korea, Daewoo out

Chevrolet Camaro goes to South Korea - Click above for high-res image
General Motors decided several years ago to begin heavily promoting Chevrolet as its global mainstream brand even in markets where its existing brands like Opel and Daewoo were a dominant force. Today, at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, GM Daewoo president Mike Arcamone announced that the Camaro would lead the way in GM's efforts to market Chevrolet in South Korea.
For now at least Chevrolet and Daewoo-branded vehicles will coexist in the Korean market. However, while we were in China last week GM officials told us that the Daewoo brand, which has been somewhat tainted by past quality issues, would eventually be phased out in favor of Chevrolet. When the new Aveo launches next year it will likely be badged as a Chevrolet even though GM Daewoo is in charge of engineering the car.
