This is my 1996 ext cab silverado 1500 4x4. It has been completely gone through for the most part. The truck itself has 297k but It has a brand new gm crate engine with only 5,000 miles on it and has a 3yr/100,000 mile warranty on it. It runs great and I also changed the spider injection system, radiator, power steering pump, steering box, water pump,o2 sensors, heater core, plugs, wires, distributor, cap, rotor and the entire air conditioning system is completely brand new and ICE COLD! The transmission is a rebuilt unit from orilley's with a 3yr/100,000 mile warranty with about 2k miles on it. The rear axle has also been completely reuilt. It has 4:56 gears with an aurburn locker with all new bearings and seals. The front chunk still needs the gears to be installed though so right now I have the driveshaft removed up front. (The only thing not working is the power locks but not sure why) .I just repainted the entire truck in pcs so its done right including the jams and no paint lines anywhere. Trucks paint is about 8 months old and was wet sanded in buffed out so it looks incredable. I have replaced all the lights up front with the clear front with painted grill, new tail lights door handles, tailgate handle and also has a 2.5 inch cowl hood. The locks are all new including the ignition tumbler with factory gm keys so I am the only one with the keys to the truck. The interior is very nice as well, It has a new headliner, new carpet, seats are in great shape with no tears, new windshield. The truck has a 3" body and 4" rough country suspension lift riding on 35x12.50x15 baja claw radial ttc's. The wheels are 15x10 chrome ultra rims and tires have about 19 k miles on them. The truck is real nice riding and does not ride rough like most 4x4's and it has never been offroad as long as I have owned it and the underneith the truck is super clean. The ball joints are new upper and lower with moog problem solver ones. I might be missing a few things about the build but if you have questions feel free to ask becuase I have personally done all the work on this truck myself so I know everything about it. I am looking to trade for a newer style f150 4x4 like 04 on up . This truck is my daily driver and very dependable. Let me know if you have any questions. Text or call (504) 628-3551

MotorWeek looks back at 1995 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon
Sat, Jun 20 2015MotorWeek's Retro Review series gives us a nostalgic look back at some of the best sports cars and luxury sedans available in the 1980s and '90s. For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.
1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28
Mon, Jan 12 2015Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won. Weekly Recap: Lamborghini to build SUV
Sat, May 30 2015Finally, Lamborghini will build a sport utility vehicle. The Italian supercar maker confirmed this week that it will launch a luxury SUV in 2018. It will be built at Lamborghini's soon-to-expand factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese in Italy, and will double the company's current sales volume. Lamborghini did not announce a name for the vehicle or other details, but noted a concept version, the Urus, was displayed at the Beijing motor show in 2012. It will be sold around the world, but it's expected to be a critical offering in the United States, China, and the Middle East. The automaker projects the SUV will sell about 3,000 units per year, and it will be the third product in Lamborghini's portfolio. It currently sells the Huracan and Aventador supercars. "The introduction of a third model line endorses the stable and sustainable growth of the company and signifies for us the beginning of a new era," Lamborghini chief executive Stephan Winkelmann said in a statement. The project is also a boon for Italy, which will get 500 new jobs in the Emilia Romagna region as Lamborghini's factory will nearly double in size. Ian Fletcher, principal analyst for IHS Automotive, said the SUV will position Lamborghini for future growth. "It could well also bring new customers to the brand [who] may find the dramatic styling of Lamborghini products appealing, but find its typical sports cars restrictive," he said. "If it is a success, the SUV could be a catalyst to Lamborghini broadening its portfolio further." OTHER NEWS & NOTES GM invests in Chevy Camaro factory General Motors is investing $175 million to upgrade its factory in Lansing, MI, to build the 2016 Chevy Camaro. The investment will pay for new tooling and equipment. The improvements include three new paint systems and two new robotic framers. GM will add a second shift at the factory to build the Camaro, resulting in 500 jobs. The automaker had dropped the plant to one shift last year amid slow sales for its products, the Cadillac ATS and CTS. GM is spending $5.4 billion over the next three years to upgrade its US facilities. Last week, GM announced plans to spend $439 million to build a new paint shop for the Chevy Corvette. While the Camaro and Corvette plant improvements are intriguing to enthusiasts, GM also confirmed this week that it is investing $1.2 billion in its Fort Wayne (IN) factory that builds trucks.
