1992 Chevrolet Extended Cab 1500 Silverado V8 Pickup Fully Restored on 2040-cars

Year:1992 Mileage:219982 Color:
Location:

Berryville, Virginia, United States

Berryville, Virginia, United States

Condition: Exterior was professionally painted. There are no known defects to my knowledge. Paint is two tone with pin striping. Interior has new carpet, headliner and suede seat covers. BF Goodrich A/T tires have less than 10,000 miles. Brakes, belts, hoses, tensioner pulley, alternator all with less than 10,000 miles. Anything that was needed was done. Truck frame has 219,982 miles

Features: GM factory 5.7L / 350 engine with 38,000 miles. Rebuilt transmission with 38,000 miles. Reese tow package with electric brakes. JVC stereo with cd player. PW, PL, AC, cruise, tilt wheel, extended cab, 60/40 front seat, custom grille and professionally gone through.

History: I bought it used just after the engine and transmission were done. The intent was to eventually have my kids learn to drive in it. I drove it regularly to determine soundness and had a mechanic do any/all repairs/inspections in preparation of my son/daughter driving. Determined after all of the expenses incurred to restore the truck to the great condition it is in, that it was too big and got them a car instead.  I have spent far more restoring this truck to this condition than I can ever expect someone to pay. Unfortunately, I am now moving for work and cannot take it with me

Shipping and Payment: Truck is located in Northern Virginia. I encourage any/all interested bidders to come drive it and inspect it. I am not a dealer and do not do this for a living nor do I want to. I can not arrange shipping as I don't know anything about it. I am located 45 minutes from Dulles Airport. I would drive the truck any where without any sort of fear or reservation. It runs excellent and looks it as well. Cash or bank cleared certified funds will be needed to release truck.

I have clear title. Truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction at any time. Successful bidder will need to contact me at close of auction to arrange payment and pick up

Thanks for looking and feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Junkyard Gem: 2003 Chevrolet Tracker

Wed, May 22 2024

When General Motors created the Geo brand to sell vehicles designed and — in some cases — built by Japanese partners, the first four models were introduced for the 1989 model year: the Metro (Suzuki Cultus), Prizm (Toyota Sprinter), Spectrum (Isuzu Gemini) and Tracker (Suzuki Sidekick). Geo got the axe in 1997, with the Metro, Prizm and Tracker becoming Chevrolets. Of those, the Tracker survived the longest, with U.S.-market sales continuing into 2004. Here's an example of a very late Tracker, found in a North Carolina car graveyard recently. The 1989-1997 first-generation Trackers were based on the Suzuki Sidekick, while the 1998-2004 Trackers had the Suzuki Vitaras (not to be confused with the much grander Grand Vitaras) as their siblings. Production of these trucks for the South American market (as the Chevrolet Vitara) continued in Ecuador all the way through 2014. The Tracker name has also gone onto some versions of the Chevrolet Trax around the world. This one is a base four-door hard top/rear-wheel-drive model, which had an MSRP of $17,330. That's about $29,789 in 2024 dollars. You'll find one in every car. You'll see. The engine is a Suzuki 2.0-liter straight-four rated at 127 horsepower and 134 pound-feet. A five-speed manual was base equipment, but very few American vehicle shoppers wanted three pedals by the middle 2000s. This truck has the Aisin four-speed automatic. We like it loud. It appears that someone associated with this truck graduated from Julius L. Chambers High School last year. In the United States, the Tracker was replaced by the Saturn Vue. If Tracker can handle (unspecified Middle Eastern country), it can survive the jungle back home. Siempre contigo.

Chevy Corvette Stingray "colorizer" lets you chase the rainbow

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

After you've convinced your better half to let you buy a new Corvette, then comes the hard part... actually figuring out which 'Vette you want. While Chevrolet has yet to release the official configurator for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it did give us something else to kill some time playing around with.
The C7 Corvette "colorizer" recently went online, and it lets you look at the car in all of its available colors and wheel options from four different angles so that when this car does go on sale, you know exactly which one you want. It includes the Corvette's full pallet of colors including Torch Red, Laguna Blue and the hue you see above, Velocity Yellow. Toss in the black wheels, and we're sold. If you have some time this afternoon, be sure to check it out the Corvette colorizer for yourself, and even if you don't have the time, we've put together a gallery with all of the possible color combinations.

Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]

Wed, 15 May 2013

We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."
