95 Chevy S10 Bagged Airbags Air Ride Hydraulics Slammed Lowrider Custom on 2040-cars

This is a 1995 Chevy S10 customized with a '98 S10 front clip, 4 cylinder engine, manual transmission with under 85,000 miles, and full airbag suspension, but has sat in a garage for over a year with no work done to it since put away. The garage fees are getting expensive so I must sell. First the exterior..it has a '98 S10 nose. The inside fender supports have been cut for 20'' rims. It has shaved door handles with door poppers controlled with remote. The bed has been fully shaved including tailgate, gas cap, and has custom license plate bracket frenched into the tailgate. Molded in roll pan, and slim line brake lights. Outside.. has been primered brown, white flush mount Tonneau cover, hood is also in white. The body is in good condition. Has one small surface rust spot on bed and a small crack where the tailgate was welded cause the Tonneau cover was slamming down on it. (Crack is about 5 inches long, an easy fix, it just has to be welded.) 85% of the body work is done, just needs some touch ups here and there, and then will be ready for paint. The suspension..has airbags front and back, tubular control arms up front, spring pockets were cut to accommodate the bags. All that it needed is gussets welded in where cut for added strength. Rear has a road grader kit, 2 five gallon tanks and 2 air compressors. When stored one year ago, both compressors worked. Last week when I checked the truck, only one compressor was coming on. Not sure if it's a wiring issue or the compressor, worst case scenario, you would have to buy a new compressor for $120.00. It also needs a high amp relay for both compressors . Its ran by a CCE 10 switch controller. Interior..its all there but radio and is  in rough shape. Has power Envoy leather seats in good condition, but the power is not hooked up yet. Has a new exhaust and cold air intake. Check engine light comes on and off at times. This started happening after I added the cold air intake. Car runs and drives, just needs some work to be a complete truck.I have no time to work on the truck anymore, so it needs to go. Also, the left driver side brake light is cracked and needs to be re-wired. The original gas tank was cracked so I added a plastic gas tank that is in the bed. Like I said, there is alot of stuff that someone needs to finish. This truck is being sold as is. No returns, no warranty. A $300 non refundable deposit is due at end of auction. A conversation with GM's Mark Reuss on MPG, aluminum and Corvettes

There was plenty to talk about when General Motors hosted its annual mid-December holiday media reception a few months ago. GM had just decided to pull its global Chevrolet brand out of major European markets, where Chevys have competed directly with GM Europe Opel and Vauxhall vehicles, and the US government had sold its last remaining shares of GM stock. But most important was the company's just-reshuffled leadership. Post-bankruptcy CEO Dan Akerson had announced that he would step aside and that 52-year-old Mary Barra would replace him on January 15. Not only would she be the first woman to lead a major automaker, she would also be GM's first engineer CEO since Bob Stempel in the early 1990s. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors" - Mark Reuss Replacing her as executive VP for global product development (and purchasing and supply chain) would be 49-year-old Mark Reuss, who had served a stellar four years as North American president, and elevated to corporate president (from executive VP and CFO) would be 42-year-old Dan Amman. All three are relatively young auto enthusiasts who are liked and respected inside and outside the company, and their collective talents and experience are highly complementary. I've interviewed Barra and found her smart, personable and knowledgeable, though she carefully walks the corporate line in speaking and answering questions. I met and chatted with Ammann for the first time at that holiday reception, and he made a good first impression. But I've known Reuss for some time as a genuinely good guy and a highly capable and inspiring leader, and I believe he is exactly the right person for the global product responsibility once famously held by the outspoken, oft-controversial Bob Lutz. So I jumped at an opportunity to join a group interview of Reuss (with mostly business reporters) at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It was an interesting session of mostly good questions, which he answered with refreshing candor and humor. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors," Reuss said. "We've taken down almost every plant in North America, converted and turned it this last year, and to do that with award-winning vehicles and pretty flawless launches is key. We have to keep the train rolling on great product, because the rest won't happen without the best product, period." A reporter asked whether GM was pushing big trucks, SUVs and Corvettes again because gas is cheap. "No," Reuss said.

General Motors is laying out some serious green to maintain the Chevy Corvette's expansive color palette. The automaker is breaking ground on a new paint shop this summer that's part of a $439-million investment to upgrade the 34-year-old Bowling Green, KY, factory that builds the Stingray. The massive new structure will total 450,000 square feet, nearly half the size of the current 1-million square-foot facility. Construction is expected to take two years and won't impact Corvette production. The upgrades include new robots that save paint and create a better finish, longer, more efficient ovens to bake in the finish, and LED lighting. There's also a dry scrubbing booth technology with a limestone handling system that eliminates waste. GM has invested $135 million in the factory in last four years for the changeover to build the C7 and to relocate its Performance Build Center to Bowling Green. The improvements continue to modernize the Kentucky factory, which has become a tourist attraction in its own right, as more than 56,000 enthusiasts visited it last year. The upgrades are part of a $5.4-billion investment GM confirmed in April that will remake its US footprint in the next three years. The Bowling Green expansion underscores GM's continued commitment to the Corvette, which sold nearly 38,000 copies around the world last year, an eight-year high. "With this major technology investment, we can continue to exceed the expectations of sports car buyers for years to come," North American manufacturing manager Arvin Jones said in a statement. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Takata recall hits 34 million vehicles The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration expanded the Takata airbag recall to an almost unthinkable 34 million vehicles on Tuesday. The recall is part of an agreement reached by the two sides where Takata admitted some of its airbag inflators have a defect, and the deal compels the company to comply with all future regulatory actions and investigations. Takata's airbag inflators were produced with "a propellant that can degrade over time" and lead to ruptures, NHTSA said. Six deaths have been attributed to the flaw worldwide. Investigations conducted by Takata, automakers, and others have not determined the exact cause of the inflator problem, but NHTSA said moisture appears to alter the propellant's chemical structure. It then ignites too rapidly, creates too much pressure that ruptures the inflator, and blasts shards of metal at passengers.

2015 Chevrolet Colorado GearOn Edition is ready to do that outdoorsy thing

Bikes, skis, kayaks... the Chevrolet Colorado GearOn is ready to accommodate all of them, thanks to a trip to the Bowtie's accessories catalog. The special edition Colorado features the basics of Chevy's GearOn accessories, including a bars package, bed divider and tie-down rings, which can be supplemented with other accessories to haul all manner of outdoor equipment. Beyond that, though, Chevy has fitted a few other items to lift up the Colorado's styling, including gloss-black 18-inch wheels, black Bowtie emblems, a body-color grille, off-road assist steps and front foglights.
