Description

2001 Chevy S-10

This is a 1 of a kind Low Mileage CLEAN S-10! It is everything you want when buying a used car. It is a 1 Owner, It has low 74,000 original miles, It has never been in an accident, and it has been cared for.  This was the original owners baby and it shows!

First off, the car has $1000's invested into custom paint, suspension, and Stereo.

Exterior:
The paint is a base coat clean coat two tone. This is no cheap job. It was done right. It was sprayed in the jambs and under the hood as well. The paint shines amazingly and changes color slightly depending on the light from Purple to deep blue. (photos shown in several different lighting) The bed is color matched and looks as though nothing has ever been in it. There are no dents, dings, or scratches. There are a few stone chips to the bumper that have been touched up. (nothing bad) The tailgate handle has been shaved and relocated to the inside of the tailgate and is was done well! The rear over head brake light has a color matched chevy bowtie light cover. The Grille was upgraded and all the headlights were changed out with clear lenses. The factory Xtreme wheels are a gun metal color.

Mechanicals:
It has a brand new battery. The suspension has been lowered. (it is not bagged) just lowered significantly The ride is actually pretty nice. It is not bumpy or stiff like most lowered cars. It is the factory 4 cylinder and automatic transmission that both run and shift great with an original 74,000 miles. It does have a cold air intake. The exhaust is the stock exhaust.

Interior:
It is the Extended Cab with a 3rd Door on the drivers side. (no jump seats) The interior is basically stock. Original carpets, seats, dash and everything else are in great shape. The dash and heater controls are all white faced and backlit.
It has A Viper Alarm with remote keyless entry. The original owner had a high end stereo with amp and subs behind the seats in the extra cab area. (original owner kept the subs and amp) Currently a  CD Head unit with USB, Aux, and bluetooth are installed to door and dash speakers. However, the truck is still wired with Heavy Duty Gauge Monster Cables from under the hood into car and ready to be plugged into the existing had unit and a new amp and subs. The interior dynamat sound deadening insulation under the factory interior and door panels.

This is everything you look for when buying a used car. It is a 1 owner with no accidents, ONLY 74,000 MILES, a clean history report, and well cared for.

The car is VERY NICE, CLEAN, and READY for a new owner!

Although in excellent condition, This is not a new car. So please dont expect one.  There are no issues with the car, just a truly nice well cared for S-10

We are asking $6500 locally. We have it on ebay as No Reserve so please bid to what you feel is reasonable.

If you have any questions please feel free to send them my way.

thanks for looking!!!

Next-gen Chevy Volt will get 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine

Tue, Oct 28 2014

As General Motors gets ready to unveil the new Chevy Volt at the Detroit Auto Show in January, it's starting to reveal a few more details about the updated plug-in hybrid. Today should be fruitful on that front, thanks to an event GM is hosting today that focuses on the new Volt, and we've just had the first bit of new: a bigger engine is coming. Since the beginning, the Volt has used a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine as a range extender when the battery runs dry. The second-generation model will instead get a slightly larger 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that will be built in Flint, MI. That's a step up from the various engines that have been a part of the 2016 Volt's rumored mills, everything from a 1.0-liter or 1.2-liter three-cylinder to a 2.0-liter turbo. The confirmation about the new 1.5-liter powerplant was found in Automotive News, where we also heard again that GM is going to start building the new Volt's electric drive unit in Detroit, moving production up from Mexico. We will have more information on the 2016 Chevy Volt later today.

A conversation with GM's Mark Reuss on MPG, aluminum and Corvettes

Wed, Feb 19 2014

There was plenty to talk about when General Motors hosted its annual mid-December holiday media reception a few months ago. GM had just decided to pull its global Chevrolet brand out of major European markets, where Chevys have competed directly with GM Europe Opel and Vauxhall vehicles, and the US government had sold its last remaining shares of GM stock. But most important was the company's just-reshuffled leadership. Post-bankruptcy CEO Dan Akerson had announced that he would step aside and that 52-year-old Mary Barra would replace him on January 15. Not only would she be the first woman to lead a major automaker, she would also be GM's first engineer CEO since Bob Stempel in the early 1990s. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors" - Mark Reuss Replacing her as executive VP for global product development (and purchasing and supply chain) would be 49-year-old Mark Reuss, who had served a stellar four years as North American president, and elevated to corporate president (from executive VP and CFO) would be 42-year-old Dan Amman. All three are relatively young auto enthusiasts who are liked and respected inside and outside the company, and their collective talents and experience are highly complementary. I've interviewed Barra and found her smart, personable and knowledgeable, though she carefully walks the corporate line in speaking and answering questions. I met and chatted with Ammann for the first time at that holiday reception, and he made a good first impression. But I've known Reuss for some time as a genuinely good guy and a highly capable and inspiring leader, and I believe he is exactly the right person for the global product responsibility once famously held by the outspoken, oft-controversial Bob Lutz. So I jumped at an opportunity to join a group interview of Reuss (with mostly business reporters) at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It was an interesting session of mostly good questions, which he answered with refreshing candor and humor. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors," Reuss said. "We've taken down almost every plant in North America, converted and turned it this last year, and to do that with award-winning vehicles and pretty flawless launches is key. We have to keep the train rolling on great product, because the rest won't happen without the best product, period." A reporter asked whether GM was pushing big trucks, SUVs and Corvettes again because gas is cheap. "No," Reuss said.

GM executive chief EV engineer says reducing cost of plug-in vehicles is 'huge priority'

Mon, Mar 17 2014

As we know, another major automaker investing heavily in electrified vehicles is General Motors, and it's doing things much differently than rivals BMW, Ford or Nissan. The Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV is a modest seller at its $35,000 sticker price but a huge hit with owners. The Chevy Spark BEV, still in limited availability, puts smiley faces on its owners and drivers. The just-introduced Cadillac ELR, a sharp-looking, fun-driving $76,000 luxocoupe take on the Volt's EREV mechanicals, has admittedly low sales expectations. With this interesting trio in showrooms and much more in the works, the third vehicle electrification leader I collared for an interview at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (see #1 and #2) was Pam Fletcher, GM's executive chief engineer, Electrified Vehicles. ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? "We designed [the Volt and the ELR] to go anywhere, any time" - Pam Fletcher PF: I get that question all the time: why not something smaller? You don't really need that much. You use the electric to its ability, then you just need to limp. But we designed those cars to go anywhere, any time, and we don't want their performance to be compromised. If you're driving through the mountains, we don't want you to be crawling up grades, or to be limited on any terrain. So it's optimized to be able to travel literally the biggest grades and mountain roads around the globe at posted speeds. Because what if you can't? Another good reason: when the engine is on, you have to run it wide open throttle, max speed, most of the time. And while we can do a lot with acoustics, and the ELR has active noise cancelation, a small-displacement, low cylinder-count engine at high speed, high load all the time isn't something you want to live with. That's how we came up with the balance we did among the key factors of performance, NVH [noise, vibration and harshness] and range. ABG: Where you go from here? Is the range-extender engine due for an update? PF: We know and love the current Volt, and there is still a lot of acclaim about it, so we think it's a good recipe. But we are heavily in the midst of engineering the next-generation car, which I think everyone will love and be excited about.
