1999 CHEVY S10 PICKUP

4WD  LS   ZR2 OFF ROAD

NO RESERVE!!

UP FOR BID IS A 1999 CHEVY S10 PICKUP.  TRUCK HAS 140 THOUSAND MILES.

I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK ALITTLE OVER TWO YEARS.  MY SON WAS USING

IT TO COMMUTE BACK AND FORTH TO LOCAL COLLEGE, SO IT WAS USED DAILY AND

HAS BEEN SUPER DEPENDABLE.  HE HAS NOW TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER SCHOOL

FURTHER WAY AND PURCHASED A NEWER TRUCK.  IT IS IN OVERALL GOOD CODITION. RED PAINT IS STILL

IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE AND SHINES UP WELL.  THERE ARE CHIPS, SCRATCHES, AND A FEW DINGS BUT FROM 20

FEET SHE LOOKS GREAT.  HERE'S A SUMMARY OF THE TRUCK:  THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY.

THE GOOD:  TIRES ARE BRAND NEW BF GOODRICH RADIAL ALL TERRAIN KO.   BRAKES WERE REDONE LAST YEAR WITH NEW ABS SENSORS ON BOTH FRONT WHEELS.

JUST HAD NEW WINDSHIELD INSTALLED TWO WEEKS AGO TO REPLACE CRACKED OLD ONE.  ENGINE RUNS GREAT. STARTS QUICKLY AND RUNS SMOOTH.  NO LEAKS,

AND NO STRANGE NOISES.  OIL AND AIR FILTER CHANGED TWO MONTHS AGO.   BODY IS VERY SOLID, AND ASIDE FROM A MINOR FRONT BUMPER DENT

IT HAS NEVER BEEN HIT AS FAR AS I KNOW.

THE BAD:  AIR CONDITIONING NEEDS TO BE CHARGED, JUST BLOWING COOL, NOT AS COLD AS IT USED TO BE.   DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW WORKS

INTERMITTENTLY, MOST LIKELY A SHORT OR LOSE CONNECTION.  NEEDS A NEW MUFFLER (CATALYTIC CONVERTOR WAS REPLACED LAST YEAR).  HAS TWO

VERY MINOR RUST SPOTS. ONE IN THE BED, AND ONE ON DRIVERS SIDE FRONT FENDER BEHIND THE FRONT TIRE.  PAINT IS NOT PERFECT, AS I MENTIONED

EARLIER.  THERE ARE DINGS AND SCRATCHES, BUT THE RED PAINT STILL POPS WHEN IT IS CLEANED UP.  THE BED HAS SCRATCHES AND DINGS  (LOST THE BEDLINER

ON THE HIGHWAY LAST YEAR!)  ALSO AS I MENTIONED BEFORE, THE FRONT BUMPER IS DENTED SLIGHTLY.   THE INTERIOR IS PRETTY GOOD, BUT THE DRIVER

SEAT IS PRETTY WORN OUT WHERE SOMEONE WAS SLIDING OUT OF THE TRUCK. THE CUSHION IS PRETTY USED UP.

THE UGLY:   THE  'CHECK ENGINE'  LIGHT IS ON.  WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC THAT IT SHOWS A MESSAGE INDICATING TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE HAS BEEN DETECTED.

I DRIVE THE TRUCK INFREQUENTLY, AND HAVE NOT NOTICED AN ISSUE.  MY SON SAYS THAT OCCASIONALLY IT SEEMS TO HESITATE WHEN SHIFTING, BUT HE ONLY

NOTICES IT WHEN THE TRUCK IS LOADED (HE USES IT TO BRING HIS DIRTBIKE AND EQUIPMENT TO THE MOTOCROSS TRACK).   I TOOK IT FOR A LONG RIDE THIS WEEK

AND IT FELT FINE.   WHEN I HAD IT CHECKED, WE CHANGED THE TRANS FLUID AND REPLACED THE FILTER.

BOTTOM LINE:  THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE TRUCK THAT HAS BEEN VERY DEPENDABLE AND STILL LOOKS GREAT.  I'D LIKE TO KEEP IT, REPAIR IT, AND SELL IT  FOR WHAT IT

IS REALLY WORTH, BUT DON'T HAVE THE DRIVEWAY SPACE FOR IT ANYMORE.

I AM SELLING IT AT  NO RESERVE,  WELL BELOW IT'S BOOK VALUE OF JUST UNDER 5 THOUSAND. IT'S A GREAT DEAL AT THIS

PRICE CONSIDERING I JUST THREW A 1000 BUCKS WORTH OF BRIDGESTONE RUBBER AT IT.  IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK

AND I WILL ANSWER ASAP.  I AM LOCATED IN BRIDGEWATER NEW JERSEY  (CENTRAL JERSEY).  I WORK NIGHTS SO I AM AVAILABLE MOST DAYS

IF YOU WANT TO COME CHECK IT OUT (WHICH I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DO BEFORE BIDDING).  I'M NOT TRYING TO MAKE MONEY ON

THIS DEAL SO IT'S IMPORTANT TO ME THAT YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE  GETTING.  I WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS

AS HONESTLY AS I CAN. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK!!! DAVE

Is this '47 Chevrolet a rat rod or a sports car?

Sun, May 22 2016

These days there are plenty of vehicles that blur the conventional automotive class structures. For instance, was the Honda Crosstour a wagon or an SUV? And what exactly was the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet? Regardless, those line-blurring cars (or trucks) are out there, and though this one didn't roll off a production line, it's still quite the automotive head-scratcher. Hailing from Missouri, this epic creation is one part mad science experiment, one part 1947 Chevrolet pickup, and one part '95 Mercury Cougar. Add it all up and you get an awesome truck-sports-car hybrid, complete with an outrageous wing and a V8 to boot. And interestingly enough, it's up for sale . RELATED: Check out this Wild-Styled Lamborghini Rat Rod So how does it all come together? According to the listing, the Chevrolet truck cab (which had previously been chopped) was sanded down to bare metal and given a thorough shellacking of clear coat. It was then melded together with the front end of a 1995 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck, and set low to the ground on Bilstein suspension drop spindles. Stance achieved. But instead of fielding an engine from either of those pickups, it pulls its heart from a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV—a big 5.3-liter V8 heart, that is. It comes backed-up to a GM Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Towards the rear however is where things get really interesting. A Copper Pearl coated tube frame chassis both attaches the rear independent suspension (a la Mercury Cougar) to the racy spoiler, as well as secures the rat rod's rear-mounted radiator, fan, and fuel tank. I'm not quite sure why, but it just looks glorious. RELATED: Reports Say Mid-Engine Corvette Will Arrive in 2018 Inside the vintage cab, the Chevrolet furthers its racing proclivities (it's said to have won burnout and auto-cross events) with a pair of harnessed racing seats, a drift brake, a detachable steering wheel, and a tachometer with oil and temperature gauges, but oddly no speedometer. The shifter is a crescent wrench. And its shift boot? That's a Crown Royal Purple bag. All in all, this grin-worthy Frankenstein creation tallies up bits and pieces from four different vehicles (five if you include the Camaro wheels), which make it truly a mash-up of epic proportions. Internet, what do you think? Related Video: This article by Zach Doell originally appeared on Boldride. Autoblog fan favorite car ads from Super Bowl XLIX

Mon, Feb 2 2015

Super Bowl XLIX is in the books, and the New England Patriots emerged victorious. Of course, if you're like us, the big game wasn't so much about the battle between the east coast and west, so much as a fight between the world's automotive advertisers. We collected and collated all of last night's new ads and put them together for you to vote on. And yes, we're limiting this year's contest to last night's new features. That's why you aren't seeing Dodge's epic Wisdom among our collection of commercials, and it's a similar story with Chevrolet's Truck Guy Focus Group series, which highlights the new Colorado. You can still vote for your favorites. We won't be closing the voting on our Super Bowl page, so while the winners and losers are correct as of this writing, it's entirely possible that there could be some changes in the rankings as time goes on. So, without any further ado, here are the winning ads based on your voting. Nissan: With Dad Fiat: Ready For Action Jeep: Beautiful Lands BMW: Newfangled Idea Mercedes-Benz: Fable NASCAR: America Start Your Engines As for those ads that failed to impact you, loyal readers, Toyota was the absolute, undisputed loser. The Japanese brand ran four ads in total – two for Toyota and two for Lexus – and all of them have negative tallies as of this writing. Lexus' Make Some Noise and Lets Play and Toyota's One Bold Choice and My Bold Dad both had very weak showings among the commercials that aired, although they weren't alone. Neither Mazda nor Kia scored particularly well, despite featuring celebrity magic act Penn and Teller and former James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, respectively. Chevrolet was the winner of the losers, as of our writing, recording the fewest downvotes for its audience-punking The Big Game ad. If you want to take a second look at the losing ads, you can head back to our Super Bowl page for the complete collection. But for now, head into Comments and let us know what you think of the results.

Sunday Drive: Taking a gaze into the automotive crystal ball

Sun, Oct 22 2017

Mankind has long been fascinated by the future. So it makes sense that this past week's top stories were all about cars, trucks, and SUVs that won't be hitting the market until the 2019 model year. And right at the top of the list is the Ram 1500. We've come to know Ram as the truck maker that styles its pickups with cues cribbed from big rigs, but that look has slowly evolved over time into something uniquely its own. The next Ram 1500 continues this trend, with a newly refined look that we can't wait to see in person. Up next is the 2019 Chevy Silverado. Pickup trucks have been, continue to be, and will remain the best-selling vehicles in America. And General Motors is a leader in the field, with two distinct offerings with which to entice buyers, one from the bread-and-butter Chevrolet brand and one wearing the slightly more upscale GMC badge. The Chevy looks to get LED lighting elements for 2019, which ought to keep the truck from looking dated when compared to the Ford F-150 and the previously mentioned Ram 1500. From there we move past pickup trucks and into SUVs and sedans. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee looks to get toned down a bit with its next refresh, and the '19 BMW 3 Series continues its slow evolutionary journey at the top of its aspirational sales pedestal. Finally, spy shots give way to official production reveals for the 2019 Audi A7 and Polestar 1. This pair of European luxury cars won't compete with one another – one is a rakish hatchback and the other a sports coupe – any further than for the eyeballs of our readers, but both proved popular enough to merit inclusion in our weekly roundup. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2019 Ram 1500 spotted without the classic crosshairs 2019 Chevy Silverado spied with new LED accents 2019 Jeep Cherokee reveals a much more normal face 2019 BMW 3 Series spy shots reveal production lights, new interior details 2019 Audi A7 revealed: More torque, refined styling Polestar 1 First Look | The 600 horsepower hybrid Scandinavian Green Audi BMW Chevrolet Jeep RAM Volvo Truck Hatchback SUV Future Vehicles Hybrid Luxury Performance Sedan sunday drive polestar 1
