1984 S-10 Blazer Project. New 383 Stroker. New Brakes. New Steering. on 2040-cars
Fort Worth, Texas, United States
You may remember this car from my earlier listing. It generated a lot of interest but, obviously, did not sell. So has I said at the time it went into the shop. It is still a low mileage car that sat unloved and untouched for several years. But now it has a new 400 small block with a full Eagle 383 Stroker reciprocating assembly. .525/.502 Lunati roller cam. Lunati roller rockers. 2.02/1.60 210cc Pro-Comp heads with new guide plates, stud girdles, pushrods and screw in studs. The Victor Jr intake was blasted. At the same time the TH-400 was sent out to be cleaned and checked. It is a pretty rare Switch Pitch TH-400. The trans guy said it is in great shape. There is a B@M shifter. The rear is a Ford 9in. with 4.10 gears and disc brakes. With a full ladder suspension. I had all the brake lines and master cylinder replaced along with a new proportioning valve. Also I had the steering rag joint replaced with Borgeson u-joints. The car steers like a go kart and stops like one. I had the Tri-Y headers wrapped in black and the radiator core support blasted and painted black. It still has a Griffin radiator and two fans but now it has two relays for the fans. One fan runs when the engine is running the other comes on when needed. It has a new Holley Street Avenger carb. New chrome alternator with new polished aluminum brackets, pulleys and valve covers. A new distributor, 8.8 wires, new water pump and starter completes the package. It still needs final assembly but the drive train is ready. I have all the invoices for work done and all the front end sheet metal except the inner fender liners which don't fit anyway because of the tire/wheel combo. My reserve is a bit higher than before but still way less than it's worth. If you would like to talk e-mail me and we can set up a time. Somebody is going to get a great car at a great price.

GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles
Tue, 06 Aug 2013General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
2014 Corvette Stingray meets Tesla Model S in drag strip showdown
Wed, Jan 29 2014They come from two different worlds and have little in common. The Tesla Model S P85 is the sportiest version of this paradigm-punching sedan from California, while the 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51 is a performance-enhanced version of Michigan's recently-updated sports car stalwart. The West Coast car seats five adults and eats electrons like Popeye eats spinach, the Easterner has two passenger places and, surprisingly, sips gasoline like one might bourbon. An attribute they do happen to share is extreme quickness. This similarity is all the excuse Drag Times needed to set the vehicles beside each other at the Palm Beach International Raceway for a bit of mano-a-mano quarter-mile combat. Fortunately enough, cameras were rolling for each of two bouts down the blacktop and the results recorded for our edification and enlightenment. The winner? We won't spoil it for you, but let's just say it's really, really close. How close? Scroll below and watch the video for yourself. Just be warned, the results may surprise you. Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
