UP FOR AUCTION IS A 2002 GMC SONOMA.IT IS A 350 BORED 40 OVER WITH FLAT TOPS. I FORGET THE SPECS OF THE CAM,BUT I KNOW IT IS MORE OF A HIGHER RPM CAM. I FIGURED I DID NOT NEED A LOT OF LOW END BECAUSE OF THE FIVE SPEED AND LIGHT TRUCK. IT HAS 373 GEARS BUT IT IS A OPEN REAR END.I BOUGHT EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO SWITCH TO SMALL BLOCK LIKE OIL PAN, GEAR REDUCTION STARTER(3 HP),HEADERS , RADIATOR,CUSTOM EXHAUST. IT HAS A FIVE SPEED OUT OF 86 CAMARO(T5). I HAD TO BUY A SLAVE CYLINDER/THROW BEARING THAT FITS INSIDE BELLHOUSING,INSTEAD OF THE ONE THAT MOUNTS ON SIDE OF BELLHOUSING. HAD TO DO THAT FOR THE EXHAUST TO FIT.THE HEADS HAVE BEEN REDONE ALSO BUT THEY ARE JUST STOCK GM HEADS WITH 194 INTAKE AND 150 EXHAUST.I HAVE EDELBROCK INTAKE WITH A NICELY REBUILT CARB OFF OFA 69/70 CAMARO. IT IS A 750 CFM.IT IS DONE RIGHT. THE BODY HAS BEEN TOTALLY REDONE WITH NEW CAB CORNERS,ROCKERS,FENDERS INNER FENDERS,AND A RUST FREE BED THAT I BOUGHT OFF OF CRAIGSLIST. THE HOOD IS A REGULAR HOOD WITH A CUSTOM SCOOP OFF A 1979 Z28. IT IS ABOUT A FOOT SHORTER AND TOOK A LITTLE MODIFICATION TO MAKE FIT NICE, BUT ALL THIS DONE BY A BODY MAN THAT HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR 30+ YEARS.HE IS VERY GOOD.ALL DOOR JAMS AND FENDER AND UNDER HOOD, AND BEHIND CAB HAVE ALSO BEEN PAINTED. THE ROOL PAN IS A CUSTOM JOB TOO, SO THE EXHAUST TIPS WOULD FIT THE WAY AS SEEN IN PICS.THE BED HAS SPRAYED IN BED LINER THAT ISNT CHEAP.WITH ALL THAT SAID THERE IS A FEW THINGS THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. HEATER CORE NEEDS CHANGED(STEAMS UP GLASS), IT NEEDS BIGGER FAN FOR RADIATOR.IT HAS TWO TEN INCH FANS NOW BUT THEY DONT COOL REAL GOOD ON HOT DAYS,IT DOES OK RUNNING DOWN ROAD BUT WARMS UP IF YOU IDLE VERY MUCH.IN THIS KIND OF WEATHER IT DOES FINE WHERE I LIVE(MISSOURI).I PUT NEW CARPET IN IT AND HAVENT PUT ALL TRIM PIECES BACK ON YET.THE CARPET IS SUPPOSE TO BE MOLDED FOR THE TRUCK BUT ON PASSENGER SIDE IT DOESNT LAY REAL WELL.I HAVE ALL GAUGES WORKING EXCEPT FOR SPEEDOMETER. IT CAN BE DONE BUT NEEDS A AFTERMARKET PART TO CONVERT MECHANICAL GEAR DRIVE TO A ELECTRONIC SIGNAL. IT ISNT PERFECT BUT IT IS REALLY NICE AND WITH A LITTLE MORE WORK IT COULD BE.IT HAS BEEN PAINTED FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS NOW AND I WOULD SAY I HAVE PUT 5000 MILES ON IT. THERE IS ALOT MORE I CAN TELL YOU BUT IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE JUST CALL.MY NAME IS JEFF. 6363580740, I WORK NIGHTS BUT IF DONT ANSWER LEAVE MESSAGE AND I WILL CALL BACK.THANKS FOR LOOKING.

GM announces net 220 job increase as Trump visits Michigan
Wed, Mar 15 2017GM announced today that about 900 jobs would be added (or, importantly, retained) ahead of President Trump's arrival in Michigan, where he is expected to discuss his plan to roll back fuel economy standards. The timing of the announcement is almost certainly not coincidental, as appending it to a Trump visit gives it a higher profile and dovetails with the President's jobs agenda. It's less likely the decision itself was made for those reasons, but the free PR boost is a nice bonus. As for those 900 jobs themselves, they aren't all new jobs. The only net gain is approximately 220 jobs at the Romulus Powertrain Plant, which produces the 10-speed automatic transmission that's proliferating through the company's lineup. The 180 jobs at Flint Assembly and 500 jobs at Lansing Delta Township are retained jobs – that is to say, spots the company found for workers who would otherwise have been laid off. By the way, the Flint jobs will help with production of heavy-duty pickups, and the Lansing jobs are to produce the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave. Finding jobs for manufacturing workers in the auto sector, whether new or retained, is admirable. No matter how GM couches it, the company has created or retained a total of 7,000 jobs this year, and its total reinvestment in US production is around $1 billion. But these decisions are business ones, not political ones – timing the announcements to make them seem inspired by economic policy, or the political situation, is simply smart PR. Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R named Road & Track Performance Car of the Year
Mon, Nov 9 2015With a 526-horsepower, 5.2-liter V8 that roars to 8,250 rpm, it's really hard to consider the 2016 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R an underdog in any fight. However, the Shelby held the lowest as-tested price and was only middle of the pack in terms of power in Road & Track's 2016 Performance Car of the Year challenge. The 'Stang's numbers clearly didn't tell the whole story about the potent coupe because Ford's muscle car grabbed the title in this year's test. A model needs to be new or significantly updated to be eligible for the honor, and R&T found an impressive slate of eight candidates this year. The challengers included the Bentley Continental GT3-R, Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper ACR, Mercedes-AMG GT S, and Porsche Cayman GT4. The Ferrari 488 GTB was the most expensive of the bunch with an as-tested price of $347,942, which is five times more than the Shelby. Once the group was together, R&T hustled them over curving roads and on the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park. There was a lot to love about the Shelby, even in this impressive crew. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," editor-in-chief Larry Webster said in the announcement of the results. The GT350R joins some great company. Past winners include the Porsche 911 GT3 last year and the Corvette in 2013. For some fantastic photography and the complete appraisal of these performance machines check out R&T's website for the full story. The article appears in the December/January issue, on newsstands November 17, and on RoadandTrack.com. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," said Larry Webster, editor-in-chief of Road & Track. "Not only does the car have soul and harness so much firepower with such ease, but the real achievement here is that it's so approachable. It's a car you can't help but love." The Mustang Shelby GT350R was the winner by a runaway vote.
Here's how Detroit is selling more luxury vehicles than Germany and Japan
Sun, Dec 14 2014Now there's an attention-grabbing headline, eh? Although the answer to the riddle - pickup trucks and SUVs - might be somehow deflating, the numbers involved deserve a going over. According to TrueCar's figures (click on the table to enlarge), six of the year's ten best-selling vehicles in the US that sell for a transaction price above $50,000 are body-on-frame, and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the only foreigner to crack the top five. Every enthusiast knows that pickup trucks are 'Murica's most popular vehicle by a colossal margin, and there have been plenty of reports about the popularity of luxuriously appointed trucks and SUVs, but compare these figures from TrueCar: 70 percent of Chevrolet Tahoe sales have a transaction price above $50K, and The Bowtie is expected to make $3.9 billion in revenue on 66,945 predicted high-dollar sales; 95.1 percent of E-Class sales break $50K, so the German company will make $4.0 billion on 67,006 predicted sales in that pricing sphere. It's about the only time you'll see the Tahoe ranked right next to Mercedes' bread-and-butter sedan. Ram is ahead of those two with $4.2B coming from $50K-plus sales. The Ford F-Series does almost as much revenue as the next three combined, with an expected $10.8 billion coming from sales of trucks over $50K - more than a quarter of the model's total sales, when a base F-150 can be had for about $26,000. Yes, the Germans make a lot more money on fewer sales, but considering the comparison, the bottom line isn't too troubled by such facts. Weighing like-for-like, the full-size Ford walks it in every category; elsewhere, the Chevrolet Silverado outsells the Ram, but the Ram outsells the Chevy by 6.7 percent above $50K. And for all the flak GMC takes over swapping out grilles, the Sierra also outsells the Chevy in the well-appointed segment, 16.1 percent of sales versus 11 percent – the Professional Grade brand is a huge profit center for The General. You'll find more info in the TrueCar press release below.
