The winning bidder could not pay his bill so It's up for auction again

This rare old truck metal is the (body only)  and the matching 1942 clear title of a 1942  " WHITE "  semi/ truck /road tractor.   It is 72 years old.
It is not new . It will need some restoration work if you want it to look like new.
It came form Oregon, and has very little rust for it's age.
There is no structural rust that I can see anywhere.. There is a little panel rust here and there, but nothing catastrophic with only a  few patch spots needed.   The  bottom  of the interior of the doors have been removed by the previous owner to allow any rain water to drain down through the doors and prevent rust out of bottom of doors. This rig has  good solid metal to work with and the little rust repair will be easy.,  It has old school, factory and optional gauges in the dash board, along with an antique trailer brake air handle  on the passenger side of the dash that can be used for air suspension.
It's got a huge factory tachometer on the steering column.
It has a few dents , and a little rust too, as you can see.  But, great patina, and Very solid for it's age, and a with flat windshield glass , it's a great candidate for an easy chop.
Because of the huge fenders, they can be used as the back of the truck . (see pic)
The fenders are wide enough ,side by side to reach all the way across the back of the cab.
What you see is what you get ! Sold as is . Does NOT include a truck frame,or drive line.   Body only !
Includes steel cab, with fire wall, and  floor boards, (2) seats, (2) huge steel fenders, (1)  4 piece folding steel hood, front steel grill/radiator housing, with  radiator, and 2 head lights , and clean Oregon title.

If buyer wants it shipped, shipping is at buyers cost , and  buyer MUST obtain shipper and schedule pick up time and date with seller, and within 2 weeks of sale close date unless other arrangements are in made in writing .
There will be additional fee's of $300.00 for preparing for shipping if buyer wants it palliated, and item, and prep work  must be paid for in full prior to shipping .
Pick up zip code is 28752

Third party  SHIPPING QUOTE is NOT available form seller .  BUYER  MUST OBTAIN SHIPPER and SHIPPING QUOTE.
Seller Can  deliver item for  $3.50 per loaded  mile, if item ,and,  any, and all  fee's are paid in full, and ONLY if buyer has equipment to unload items upon scheduled delivery time. $500.00 Non Refundable pay pal deposit within 24 hours of  your winning bid, and balance paid in full within 72 hours of auction close in cash or bank wire unless other arrangements are made in writing prior to close of bidding.
Note,
There are two (complete truck) ,  pictures in the pic group that are NOT part of this truck, and that are NOT part of this auction.
I put them in ONLY so you can see how wide the fenders are , and what the  " White "truck looked like with the front fenders on the front instead of the back.

On Mar-21-14 at 11:30:34 PDT, seller added the following information:

The radiator housing / front grill assembly can easily be modified to match the firewall height .   The lower grill strut valance can be removed and the grill struts ,and housing can be cut the distance to the top of the  "crank hole " , removing  approx, 8" and the lower valance can be re-attached , and it will look factory perfect. The current  front grill housing height is approx,38"  and the firewall height is approx,30". Seller reserves right  end auction prior to closing date.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
