Here is a 1954 Chevy pick up with a four speed hydramatic transmission, a VERY RARE OPTION. It has an original 235 six cylinder solid lifter, full pressure oil system  engine. It has been completely rebuilt with Chevy 350 ex. valves and hard seats installed for unleaded gas. It has the RARE 15 inch wheels with 5 new P235 75 R15 tires. It has been converted to 12 volt with a GM alternator. It has Fenton dual exhaust manifolds with a custom two into one stainless muffler and sounds great. The gas tank has been changed to under the bed with a flush mounted cap in the bed. The bed and tail gate are in near perfect condition. The cab and fenders have had body work done that was done to nice DRIVER quality. The paint job is nice driver quality. The bed wood is solid. It has a new aluminum radiator and never over heats. It has been completely rewired and all the lights work. The distributor has been upgraded with a pertronix electronic unit. It starts up fast and every time even when it is cold. The temp gauge and oil gauge work but don't read correctly. I installed a manual gauge to show the accurate oil pressure. SEE PICTURES.  The gas gauge has been replaced with one that is compatable with the new tank. The interior is clean and nice. ALL the glass has been replaced.

The truck drives and steers great for an old truck. The brakes were redone and work fine.
The hood is another story. At some time someone has welded the seam to make it a one piece hood. It was not done properly and is warped and does not fit well. A nice used hood is included that will need finish body work and paint. The hood now latches fine and does not't affect the driving. It just looks bad.
I have tried to describe the truck as accurately as I can. If you have any questions please ask and I will do my best to answer

On Jul-11-13 at 17:47:19 PDT, seller added the following information:

The transmission shifts hard going into third gear. I have been told that it can be adjusted and is common. The transmission does NOT slip.

There is a small dent in the right rear fender. My fault, backing out of my garage. It is minor and dosen't even show in the pictures.
Most of the work was done by a previous owner and I am repeating what was told to me. The previous owner built the truck for his daughter to drive to high school. The truck was rebuilt here in Payson AZ.

On Jul-11-13 at 18:03:30 PDT, seller added the following information:

The truck is being sold at auction as is where is. The sale is final so be sure it is what you want before you bid. There is no warranty of any kind on any part of the truck. I will not handle shipping on  the truck. This is up to you or pick it up yourself.

Under NO condition will the truck leave until it is paid in full. NO ACCEPTIONS. If you want to test drive it, and I suggest you do, send me a message with your phone # and we can set up a time for that.

On Jul-11-13 at 18:21:37 PDT, seller added the following information:

I installed a Carter YF carburetor in place of the old Rochester. It has more power and responds better but it runs a little rich. This is probably do to the 5000 foot altitude here. It may be just fine at your altitude so I did not try to change it.

Cadillac XT4 crossover to be built in Kansas City

Mon, Jan 8 2018

Cadillac's upcoming XT4, a crossover we've previously known as the XT3 in a long series of spy shots of heavily camouflaged mules, will be built at General Motors' assembly plant in Kansas City on the same platform as the Chevrolet Malibu, Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the plan. That will give Cadillac another entry in the red-hot luxury crossover segment and, GM hopes, help to reverse a sales slump in the U.S. It'll also breath life into the Kansas City plant that makes the slow-selling Malibu, where GM cut a third shift last year, by sharing the assembly line between the crossover and sedan and defraying costs for each vehicle. The XT4 was known most recently as the XT3, with styling cues based on the Escala concept sedan from 2016. It's slightly smaller than the XT5, Cadillac's top-selling vehicle, and will also augment the full-size Escalade in Cadillac's stable of SUVs when it makes its expected debut later this year. Cadillac last week reported its second-highest-ever sales mark with 356,467 vehicles, an increase of 15.5 percent over 2016. But that mark papers over an 8 percent sales decline in the U.S. to 156,440 vehicles. The luxury brand is on a hot streak in China, where sales jumped 50.8 percent last year to 175,489 units.Related Video: Image Credit: Brian Williams Plants/Manufacturing Cadillac Chevrolet GM Crossover sales cadillac xt5 cadillac xt4 cadillac xt3

Huge, pricey trucks haul jobs and profits for the Detroit Three

Tue, Feb 5 2019

DECATUR, Texas — Mickey McMaster is on his 12th pickup truck. The 61-year old farm equipment dealer in Decatur, Texas, two weeks ago treated himself to a 2019 GMC Denali for around $69,000 — a reward for long hours at work. "For me this is the Cadillac of trucks, it's a real luxury vehicle," McMaster said. "I've worked my way up to afford a truck like this and it shows that I've earned it." McMaster is the kind of customer General Motors Co is banking on as it plans to add 1,000 jobs at a plant in Flint, Michigan that will build a new generation of its largest pickups. Demand from Texas and other heartland states for big pick-ups is providing a lifeline to many workers the No. 1 U.S. automaker is laying off at plants elsewhere. The Detroit Three automakers and thousands of their U.S. workers are counting on customers like McMaster to keep buying bigger and more luxurious pickup trucks even if overall U.S. vehicle demand weakens this year, as most analysts predict. At Flint, GM will build a new generation of its heavy-duty Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierras, including luxury models that are some of the most profitable vehicles on the planet. GM, Ford Motor Co and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV's Ram division own the segment and are each doubling down with new or redesigned models launching this year. Sales of heavy-duty pickups in the United States have grown to more than 600,000 vehicles a year, up more than 20 percent since 2013, according to industry data. Prices for luxury models can easily top $70,000. GM on Tuesday celebrated the launch of a new generation of heavy-duty GMC and Chevrolet pickups at the assembly plant in Flint, Michigan, that is now building all such trucks for the company. At the same time that GM is laying off thousands of U.S. workers and planning to shutter five North American factories, Flint is hiring. The plant runs on three daily shifts, six days a week. As the new model's assembly system ramps up, the plant's capacity will increase by more than 25 percent, plant manager Mike Perez told Reuters. The Flint plant plans to add 1,000 workers, more than half of the 1,500 factory workers who have asked to transfer from plants GM has targeted for shutdown as part of CEO Mary Barra's restructuring plan. "We're bringing in 50 to 100 people every week," said Perez. Workers last week were still finishing the job of retooling the Flint factory to build the new heavy-duty trucks as part of a $1.5 billion investment project.

GM under fire from safety advocates over braking problem caused by recall fix

Thu, Feb 6 2020

Safety experts are lambasting General Motors over what they say is the automaker’s slow notification of owners of certain 2019 sedans and trucks that a recall fix could cause power braking to fail and increase the risk of a crash, the Detroit Free Press reports.  GMÂ’s original recall in December targeted about 550,000 Cadillac CT6 sedans and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups, all from the 2019 model year, over potentially defective electronic stability control and antilock brakes. In that case, GM said the errors would not show up as a diagnostic warning on the instrument cluster. But after GM had done recall work on 162,000 vehicles, about 1,700 owner have complained that their power brakes didnÂ’t work after they had the recall done and then used the OnStar app to start their vehicle. GM then issued a supplemental fix for customers whoÂ’d already had their vehicles serviced. In this case, a diagnostic warning should illuminate saying either “Service Brake Assist” or “Service ECS,” which GM says is a signal that a customer should not drive the vehicle and instead call their dealer, which will tow the vehicle and have it repaired. Safety advocates say the automaker hasnÂ’t gone far enough to protect customers. “The fact that you could potentially start a vehicle and not have brakes is a pretty risky proposition,” Sean Kane, president of the Safety Research and Strategies, which works on auto issues for plaintiffs and governmental organizations, told the Freep. “The fact that they wouldnÂ’t notify owners (sooner) is pretty stunning.” GM told the Freep it was required to notify the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and file paperwork before it notified customers about the original recall, which was made Dec. 12. It then had to investigate and resolve the problem created by its original recall fix before alerting customers. GMÂ’s call center and dealers are contacting the remaining 900 customers who havenÂ’t yet had the update made to the original recall repair. GM also hired a vendor to send recall letters to the 550,000 customers affected by the original recall notifying them about the update. There are no known injuries or deaths related to the problem. Read the Freep story here.
