2007 Chevrolet C 4500 (Top Kick, Kodiak, Custom Toy Hauler).We bought this truck new for $85,000 This is one the last trucks of its kind. GM retired this truck so you better get it while you still can. This beauty is hard loaded and ready to haul. We bought this truck new and used it to haul around random equipment. A traveling supervisor came out of a 1 ton dodge to this beast. He hauled a 12' enclosed trailer from location to location. The air ride seats make this truck far superior to any of its competition. You can make 16hr trips and get out with out aching back and legs. If your a truck driver you know what I mean. This is a show stopper, head turning conversation piece. There is not one stop light that goes by that men, women and especially children don't stare. This driver of this truck is an ex big rig truck driver, not one bit of maintenance was skipped, or over looked, he comes from a line of truck drivers, his dad and 2 brothers also drive for a living. We spared no expense on maintaining this truck for instance we just put $2500 into it last week,(New water pump, and hydro booster, full transmission service, oil change, air filter change, fuel filter change) knowing it was going to be but on ebay. So you can buy with confidence. Every oil change was done and with a Lucas oil stabilizer additive. This truck is large and in charge and has tremendous torque off the line, We installed a PPE Computer programmer for better fuel mileage and power. All kidding aside she is quick on her feet, averages 14mpg, and can pull a heavy load out of a hole with out even trying. You will truly be impressed by the power in the motor and the transmission. Don't let the mileage scare you, if you know duramax, you know this motor is just getting broken in, and given they are all highway miles it has many years left in it. The Allison transmission is a true match for this motor and truck, no shutters, or slips at all. Now reminding you we never missed a service. There a set of gently used Michelins 225/70R19.5 XZE, all the way around that cost about 3k. The interior of this truck is truly one of a kind, It is so nice the wife and kids would love to ride around in it. Just check out the pictures. Both front seats are full air ride, the back seat is motorized and turns into a bed, very convenient when on the road for a long journey. Rear entertainment system (DVD, Tv Combo FM modulated or wireless headphones). Wood grain interior accents, wood grain steering wheel. For towing around your toy hauler or just tossing your Harley on the bed this has many options. 2 Cylinder jake break, PTO that was never used and can be converted into your choice, only to keep the motor revved up in colder conditions . Exterior plug for colder mornings, Prodigy Break controller, Back up camera, Gooseneck in bed with 7 pin connector on bed. 4 pin and additional 7 pin on back with regular hitch. Gooseneck ball is removable so you can haul your bike around with no problem. Rear independent air suspension with dump switch in the cab, so hooking up to a trailer is even easier. Heated power mirrors. When this custom package was put together they used a noise dampening dynamat lining in all the doors, aftermarket radio, aftermarket speakers drivers and tweeters. The bed is truly unique, it has 4 independent locking tool boxes, Led lights in every location possible, including the mud flaps. At night there is no missing this beast. Front Billet grille and side ram air grille were installed. Clear led turn signals. Having said all that there are no dents, one aluminum side step has some cosmetic damage, Passenger side rear fender has a bend in it and very few minor scratches none worth mentioning, one pillar piece behind the drivers door is cracked (see pictures, were not hiding anything) It was waxed, washed, and detailed more than I could even imagine, no bug sat on this truck for more than a few hours, We are sad to put this truck up for sale considering all the money we invested. but need to sell it to someone who can use it to its full capacity. You are bidding on a mans mans truck, want to make your neighbor jealous or give them something to talk about this is it, Just park it next to a new King Ranch and watch the other driver walk by his truck to check this one out. Every kid that passes by thinks its from the Transformer movie, slap you an Autobot or decepticon sticker on there and leave a smile on every kid that checks it out. You can pull up in this thing, and instantly have something in common with everyone there. Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

Next-gen Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra may use carbon fiber
Thu, Dec 7 2017It's been generally accepted that the next generation of full-size GM trucks will use some sort of strong, lightweight material for the beds while retaining steel for the cab. While aluminum seems like the most obvious choice, according to Automotive News, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra will incorporate both aluminum and carbon fiber in their beds. The publication cites sources from within GM, though it seems the introduction of this comparatively exotic material mix is still a few years off. While carbon fiber is both stronger and lighter than steel and aluminum, it takes significantly more time and money to produce, essentially relegating the material to small-volume cars. The main benefit for trucks is the resulting reduction in weight to improve fuel economy without sacrificing the tough, rugged capabilities truck buyers expect. The Ford F-150 made the switch to aluminum for the 2015 model year and it's proved highly successful. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before the competition followed suit. Automotive News says that the next-gen trucks will launch with aluminum beds and that it will take a couple of years before we'll see any carbon fiber incorporated into the design. Even then, only look for the composite material on higher-trim models, with a trickle down to lower-spec trucks possible further in the future. In 2011, GM announced it was working with Japan-based Teijin Limited on a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic. There's a good chance that material's introduction will be on trucks.
