You are bidding on one very clean 1968 Chevy C20 pick-up truck, Camper Special, 3/4 ton. Amenities included on this truck are: power steering, tow package, power driver seat, split bench with armrests for both, driver and passenger or you could use it as a (3)passenger.There are some minor dings, nothing major and absolutely NO CANCER, check the pictures. It comes with original '70's camper, just replaced alternator, has very decent tires (all 4) plus spare. Interior flooring original rubber, very clean dash topper with no reaps or cracks, previous owner installed an aftermarket tachometer, this trucks have (3) gasoline tanks although I only filled up the one behind the seat; this truck is also very original, except for alternator that got replaced to internal regulator, as opposed to external regulator as original equipped. According to previous owner engine got rebuilt within the last couple of years, you'll see all his notes on back of sunvisor. I am very sure that it will not take a lot of work to get body to a perfect condition, unlike what is typical for trucks this old, THERE IS NOT rust on cab corners or floor that I can see. Exhaust has been redone also with what appears to be headers. It runs very strong and does not pull on steering wheel as you drive; my loss your gain, I bought this truck to fix for myself but have to let it go, some unexpected expenses showed up that needs be resolved. Mileage should be original for rest of truck (as stated above, engine got rebuilt)
The only thing that may need fixing and I want to state clearly here: There is transmission fluid leaking from transmission pan, replacing the pan gasket should fix this. Other than that I am not aware of any other issues with this truck. Please remember: as with any used vehicle this truck is being sold AS IS, HOW IT IS, WHERE IT IS, with no other warranties or guarantees, neither written or implied, other than vehicle being in good driving conditions, winning bidder/buyer is solely and entirely responsible to arrange for vehicle pick up or shipping, no shipping costs of any kind included on this deal. Check my score and bid with confidence, I have tried to describe this truck to the best of my knowledge, ask as many questions as you may deem necessary, I'll try to reply as best I can. Please, bid only if you are intending to complete transaction, should you be the winning bidder, you will be entering in a binding contract. A deposit of $500 via Paypal is required upon close of auction, with the remainder to be paid within (7) days of close of auction or at time of pick up. Absolutely, no personal checks are accepted, cashier's or certified bank checks are the only method of payment (no money orders either) I have title on hand and I could provide with copy of it, upon request. Vehicle will not be shipped until funds have cleared my bank nor interest be released until same occurs.

Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1

Wed, Aug 20 2014

Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party. Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic

Mon, Oct 24 2016

Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. You can check out Consumer Reports entire reliability roundup, even without a subscription, here.

Why the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder can be illegal in some states

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

The Performance Data Recorder with Valet Mode available on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray seems like a fantastic tool for many owners. Whether they are taking 720p video while lapping the track in their new 'Vette, or just want to protect their purchase from inconsiderate joyriders, the system offers a lot of functionality in one package. However, one of the PDR's features might get buyers in trouble with the law, and it has nothing to do with recording some illicit high-speed driving on a favorite back road. The problem hinges on the various state laws concerning a person's right to privacy.
According to a letter posted by Jalopnik, Chevy dealers are asking 2015 Corvette owners not to use the Valet Mode portion of the PDR because it records audio in the cabin, in addition to performance specs. That's a problem because privacy laws vary from state to state with some requiring just one side's consent to tape sound and others requiring all parties to agree. According Jalopnik, 15 states mandate everyone's permission beforehand, but it's not clear whether these numbers are up to date. (Actually, the report varies, saying 13 states in some places and 15 in a list.)
According to the letter, Chevy is already working on a software update for the near future to rectify the issue. It's possible that simply adding a warning to drivers and the ability to turn off the audio recording function in Valet Mode might solve the problem. Obviously, this doesn't preclude Corvette drivers from using the performance aspect of the PDR, and owners are free tape lap after lap at the track.
