1959 Chevy Apache 32 Fleetside Longbed 1/2 ton, 327, V8, four barrel. Here's your chance to buy a turnkey driver. Been driving this truck for a year as my daily driver. Starts every morning even with below zero temp's. So many things: wheels and tires new, front disc brakes (stops on a dime), power booster master cylinder, 10 bolt rear, new clutch, fresh strong 327, really fun and fast, 3 on the tree shifter, 4 barrel, new battery, starter, alternator, dual exhaust, new aluminum gas tank in rear, tight truck. Everything works, LED lights in rear, heater, reverse lights are there but not hooked up. Tailgate latches on inside, new wood bed, chrome bumpers, entire bed new. Glass is good, original interior, someone put an alpine stereo in, doesn't seem to be hooked up, haven't looked. Floors are solid, rockers are solid. Few dents in back of cab under window and minor rust in cab corners (see photos)(pardon the red hanky hanging out of the bottom of the passenger door). Front fenders lower are rusted, but I have two brand new ones available seperate from the auction. Hood has faux patina. Overall solid truck body, handles great. Only reason we're selling Black Betty (our affectionate term for the truck) is we've got 6 too many. You won't be disappointed, no surprises, just a perfect example of a great old truck to drive as it is, or to finish the restoration. As is. Call 540-514-1013 with any questions. Thanks.

Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon get updated tachometers due to graphical error
Sun, Feb 8 2015After James Bearing bought a Chevrolet Colorado, he noticed a discrepancy between the truck's spec sheet and the truck's tachometer: Chevrolet said 3.6-liter V6 in the little pickup produces 305 horsepower at 6,800 rpm, but the the tachometer indicates a redline at 6,500 rpm. So either he wasn't making as much power as he was promised, or the tachometer display was incorrect. Bearing said he asked Chevy about it but got no response. Until now. A General Motors spokesman said the rev limiter is indeed set for 6,800 rpm, but the tach graphics "are slightly off" in the Colorado and the GMC Canyon, and submitted an SAE horsepower certification to back him up. If you're wondering how such a thing got past quality control... well, let's just say you're not alone. GM is going to fix "the graphics on future trucks," which makes it sound like Bearing will just have to learn to live with the indicated redline he's got. He could always pretend he's driving a sleeper, with four more ponies waiting to be unlocked in the danger zone for those who dare. 2014 Chevrolet Impala [w/video]
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King?
On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog that a full 70 percent of Impala sales last year went to fleet companies for things like rental cars and government vehicles. Logic tells us that this is neither good for resale values nor name equity, so Chevrolet is getting ready to roll out an all-new Impala with improved comfort, styling and technology, hoping to turn the tables on its retail-to-fleet ratio.
Chevrolet's sedans have come on quite strong in the last few months with the introduction of the Cruze diesel and the SS sedan, but while these will likely be low-volume sellers, there's more pressure for the new Impala to perform well as GM looks to slash fleet sales and compete with the wide variety of full-size sub-luxury sedans. Riding on a platform shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Impala will compete against the Hyundai Azera, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon on the more traditional side, while also looking to take a bite out of somewhat sportier models like the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger twins and the Nissan Maxima. We headed to sunny San Diego to see if this totally new Impala can stand on its own without the assistance of fleet companies and rental agencies. [w/video
