1959 Chevy Apache 32 Stepside Shortbed/Flatbed 1/2 ton, 327 Corvette Engine,V-8,Its been a daily driver up to a few years ago. Because of my wife's medical condition in the last years and my care for her it's only been started a few times a year and moved around the property. It needs only a tie rod bar ( cheap fix) to get blasting around again. I bent bar when battery was dead and I towed it on the property and it got caught on a stump and bent it. The 327 engine is strong with the Apache at times seemingly like she's on the warpath trying to keep her rear end on the ground. Apache has clean flatbed conversion. In this auction I am including a Chevy Apache Stepside Shortbed with tailgate and bumper which had been converted to a trailer. This package will make a nice restoration project which was my intention for the old girl but my wife took ill and my time has gone to my wife as a full-time caregiver with three children. Frame on Apache is good being straight and solid. The truck is a Idaho truck located in Coeur d Alene,Idaho which is 8 miles from Spokane,Washington. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION for the Apache Truck and the Apache Stepside Shortbed Box Trailer. Everything is sold As Is with a $500 nonrefundable deposit paid through PayPal needed within 24 hours of end of auction. Full payment is due within seven days from the close of auction and prior to pick up/delivery. Payment is to be cash, cashier's check from major bank or bank wire transfer. Buyers out of the US see my sellers payment instructions on this auction page. I am a very reasonable person so if pickup arrangements are made in a timely fashion I will work with you. This Apache is a very nice piece to restore, don't miss out on this one! The best way to contact me is by phone for I am in the mountains on dial-up Internet which I sometimes do not check daily. Please feel free to call me with any questions at: (304)488-9661.

GM expected to debut two new crossovers at Detroit Auto Show
Thu, Dec 15 2016Next month, General Motors is expected to debut two new crossovers at the North American International Auto Show. That's according to Automotive News and The Wall Street Journal, which reports that the successors to the aging Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Terrain will finally make their debut. The two crossovers have been on sale since 2009 and 2010 respectively and are due for updates as the competition has newer models on the market. Both crossovers play in growing market segments where sales success is crucial for the respective brands. GM, and the automotive industry as a whole, has been shifting its focus towards crossovers in the last few years. The Traverse and the Terrain are some of the oldest SUVs on the market and are in dire need of an update. GMC's Acadia, the former corporate clone to the Traverse (and Buick Acadia), switched to a new platform in 2016. And the Terrain's platform-mate, the Chevrolet Equinox, was revealed a few months ago. Both the new Chevy and GMC models are expected to go on sale late in 2017 as 2018 models. Look for a follow up to the Traverse's sister, the Buick Enclave, to make an appearance soon. 2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.
Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
