1957 CHEVROLET CUSTOM CAB PICK UP TRUCK.

WE ARE OFFERING A BEAUTIFUL FRESHLY PAINTED 1957 CHEVROLET.
THIS CHEVROLET HAS HAD ALL THE EXPENSIVE WORK DONE AND COMES WITH ALL THE RIGHT STUFF.

THIS TRUCK WAS A CALIFORNIA TRUCK BUILT IN THE EARLY 1970'S WITH A CAMARO SUBFRAME AND DIFFERENTIAL,WITH TILT WHEEL,CRUISE AND WORKING AIR CONDITIONING WITH OF COURSE THIS TRUCK BEING OPTIONED WITH THE HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER " CUSTOM CAB" OPTION WITH THE TRIM AROUND THE UPPER DOORS,WRAPPED AROUND THE CAB AND OVER THE DOOR GLASS.

THIS TRUCK CAME TO MONTANA IN THE EARLY 1990'S AND WAS KEPT DRY AND VERY LIGHTLY DRIVEN UNTIL A YEAR AGO WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED AND STRIPPED DOWN TO BARE METAL AND REPAINTED IN AND OUT.THIS TRUCK HAD AND HAS A SUPER SOLID RUST FREE BODY.THE ONLY RUST IN THIS TRUCK WERE TWO SOFT SPOTS THE SIZE OF A SILVER DOLLAR BEHIND THE FRONT WHEELS.CAB CORNERS,FLOORS AND FENDERS ARE AND WERE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

THE PAINT IS DONE WITH METALLIC ADDED TO REALLY SHOW ITSELF OFF IN THE SUNLIGHT.

NOW ABOUT THE DRIVEABILITY OF THIS TRUCK: THE 454 WAS REBUILT AROUND 54,000 MILES AGO WITH A MILD CAM THAT SOUNDS GREAT AND STILL IDLES SUPER SMOOTH,NO RATTLES,AND NO SMOKE WITH PLENTY OF POWER BACKED TO A TURBO 400 THAT SHIFTS EXCELLENT.ALL GAUGES WORK EXCEPT THE FUEL GAUGE AND THE SPEEDOMETER WHICH IS SIMPLY A BROKEN CABLE. THE TRUCK RUNS VERY NICE EXCEPT IT TAKES A LOT OF PUMPS TO GET IT STARTED SO THE CARB SHOULD BE REBUILT AND A NEWER CARB DOES COME WITH THE TRUCK AND THIS TRUCK DRIVES VERY VERY NICE WITHOUT WANDERING AND WITH THE AGGRESSIVE STANCE THAT SIMPLY LOOKS GREAT RIDES LIKE A DREAM.

I AM SELLING THIS TRUCK FOR A LONG TIME 25 YEAR FRIEND OF MINE THAT IS WORKING OUT OF STATE FOR 3-5 MONTHS AT A TIME AND DOES'NT GET A LOT OF TIME AT HOME OR THE TRUCK WOULD HAVE BEEN CLEANED UP FOR THE PICTURES.THIS TRUCK HASN'T BEEN CLEANED OR WASHED  SINCE LAST NOVEMBER AFTER IT WAS PAINTED AND PUT BACK TOGETHER AND PUT AWAY FOR THE WINTER.ONLY TAKEN OUT A FEW TIMES THIS SPRING FOR A FEW RIDES.

EcoCar2 is on the hunt for a better, cleaner Chevy Malibu [w/video]

Thu, Jun 12 2014

The students spent three years transforming an ordinary Chevy Malibu into a revolutionary vehicle. Not far from the building where General Motors once invented the Chevy Volt, a dozen or so college students are standing on the blacktop alongside a test track, watching a professional driver push the limits of a plug-in hybrid car they've built that's far more radical. These students, from Colorado State University, have spent the past three years transforming an ordinary Chevy Malibu into a revolutionary vehicle. At first glance, it still looks like a regular sedan. But under the hood, they've installed a hybrid powertrain that contains both hydrogen and electric power sources. Even by the standards of the Department of Energy competition they're participating in, it's an outlier. That's exactly what they had in mind. "We didn't want to come here and tell them how to build a better Volt," said Tom Bradley, faculty adviser for the Colorado State team. "They already know how to do that. We can tell them how to think about these possibilities in a whole new way." After three years of work, it all comes down to this. The Colorado State team was one of 15 that came to GM's Milford Proving Grounds last week for the final stretch of the EcoCar2 competition, which challenges regular college students who have no automotive experience to do nothing less than reinvent the American car. The teams have come from across North America, and include schools like Ohio State and Virginia Tech that have a long history of participating in similar competitions, and schools like the University of Washington and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University that are here for the first time. After three years of work, it all comes down to this. The teams have operated 24 hours a day for almost two weeks here at the Proving Grounds, running a gamut of tests that include a 310-point safety inspection, emissions and energy-consumption tests and road tests, in which professional GM drivers ensure they're road worthy. The winning team will be announced tonight in Washington D.C. Revolutionary cars, ordinary package While other green-car competitions encourage extreme designs, this one comes with a somewhat constraining twist: Yes, students must improve fuel economy and reduce emissions, but in the end, they still have to have a car that would appeal to mainstream customers. In practical terms, that means they must keep conveniences like air conditioning and trunk space.

Cadillac CT6 production ceases January 2020 as part of D-Ham layoffs

Fri, Dec 6 2019

General Motors filed paperwork under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act with Michigan's Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity this week, detailing events to come at the automaker's Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Starting February 28, 814 salaried and hourly workers at D-Ham, as its called, will be laid off. The 753 workers represented by the UAW will begin receiving offers in January to relocate to facilities in Michigan and Ohio, or buyout offers. As the 4-million-square-foot plant winds down through April 3 to a skeleton crew, the Cadillac CT6 ceases production in January 2020, and the last Chevrolet Impala comes off the line on February 28. The loss of the CT6 represents the end of Cadillac's latest brief, and highly regarded, adventure into flagship sedans. It might also mean the end of the 4.2-liter Blackwing twin-turbo V8 engine, at least for the moment. Both casualties are calamities. The death of the Impala closes the door on a nameplate in production for 52 years since 1957, having started off as a top-tier trim for the 1958 Bel Air known as the Bel Air Impala, once advertised with the line, "Lets you know you're the boss." As part of the new four-year labor agreement with the UAW, GM is keeping D-Ham open to build a new line of battery-electric vehicles, ultimately investing $3 billion and tripling employment to 2,225 workers when fully operational. The agreement described the coming EV as a "van" that would commence production in late 2021, but various reports say what's actually coming is a range of premium EVs in pickup and SUV bodystyles under the program codename BT1. The easy predictions put an electric GMC Sierra and Cadillac Escalade among the EV fold, but not until 2023, according to auto industry forecaster LMC Automotive. Before that, LMC claims an electric van will debut in late 2021, along with a battery-powered rebirth of the Hummer brand in pickup and SUV forms, also in late 2021.

2015 Chevy Colorado gets its GearOn before Chicago

Tue, Feb 10 2015

Complementing the Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show is this, the 2015 Colorado GearOn Edition, which as the name might suggest, takes full advantage of the company's truck accessory catalog. Available on the volume LT trim and in both crew and extended cab varieties and with both the short and long-bed options, the GearOn Edition adds plenty of nifty extras designed to increase the truck's versatility and help accommodate bikes, kayaks and other outdoorsy items. The GearOn bars package, divider package and tie-down rings are supplemented an "EZ" lift and lower tailgate, side steps, gloss black 18-inch wheels, a body color grille, and blacked-out Chevy badges. And although it's not specifically called out in the attached press release, the paint on this special edition looks different than anything else in the truck's catalog. We dig it, especially with the black accents. Prices, meanwhile, start at $31,250, which is not even $1,200 more than a Colorado Extended Cab LT 4x4. We'll have more on the Colorado GearOn when it makes its debut later this week at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, including live images to add to the pair of stocks distributed by Chevy. Until then, scroll down for the press release on the limited-edition truck. Chevy Colorado GearOn™ Edition Brings More Adventure Versatile accessories package maximizes cargo capability; enables more fun DETROIT – Chevrolet today introduced the 2015 Colorado GearOn™ Special Edition, which blends the capability of the all-new midsize pickup truck with the versatility of the GearOn accessory system – and additional popular features. It makes its public debut Feb. 13-22 at the Chicago Auto Show. The Colorado GearOn Special Edition goes on sale this spring with a starting price of $31,250. It's offered on LT models in extended or crew cab configurations, with the long or short cargo bed and available 4WD. "Chevrolet Colorado answers the call for customers who have passions of all types and the GearOn accessory system enables them to bring more adventure wherever they go," said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager. "And with Colorado offering segment-leading efficiency and capabilities, it's a combination that maximizes adventure without compromise." The GearOn accessory system is designed for easy configuration with a multitude of mounting accessories for everything from bikes, kayaks, skis and stand-up paddle boards to a bed-mounted tent.
