1955 Chevrolet pickup Truck StepSide, this great American Classic is ready for a new owner to take care of her. This Chevy Victory Red truck (55 original color) is ideal for the collectors out there. Is a rare find with spare tire on the right and not on the driver’s side view. Only few were made this way and it also has the much desired Vintage California plates that are good and current no need to smog.

This beauty has the bullet proof reliable 235 6-inline along with the heavy duty 4 speed transmission. This classic has been restored from ground up. Interior is in great condition. This truck runs and drives good for a 1955. It’s a 12 volt and the speedometer and cluster gauges work with custom lighting and indicators and cab under dash also has courtesy lighting. The Interior has decent custom upholstery and carpet! Stock bench seat also has a comfortable and nice pleated leather center console with cup holders that can be removed to make more sitting space! Has an original looking retro stock radio with hardware upgrade, so not only is it AM, but also FM and it has integrated aux to utilize with your mp3 player or phone and an integrated LCD that lights up behind stock looking AM Dial.

Has newer red oak wood bed with a Vintage Chevy picnic ice chest. All glass is in great shape some of it is new with seals and also some new door seals will be included ready to install. Door glass rolls up and down, vent windows and vents work, wipers work, blinkers break lights tail lights head lights and high beams all work! It still has the original engine, original transmission, original drum brakes, original REBUILT GENERATOR, original heater and air is in cab but not connected and original suspension with deleted leafs to bring it down and give it a cleaner more aggressive look.

Little things have been meticulously taken care of. Over all is great shape for the year it might need little details here and there if you’re a perfectionist. Paint is very presentable still shines when polished, but It's not perfect has minor chips and dings. Previous owner rebuilt the engine and did his own body work in the typical trouble spots like cab corners hood corners and rear fenders, etc. No noticeable rust or rot on frame, it looks very solid, and I UNDERCOATED it before putting the bed back onto the frame. I also found an owner’s manual in the glove box when I bought it from an old gentleman who stated he was the second owner.

I drive this truck locally almost every other day especially on weekends I go to the plaza or downtown and without a miss, every time, is an absolute Two thumbs up REAL HEAD TURNER!! Some people stop and take pictures.

Texas cops pull armed suspect from burning car

Fri, Jul 29 2016

A high-speed chase through Fort Worth, Texas ended in dramatic fashion earlier this month when FWPD pulled armed burglary suspects from the burning wreckage of their escape vehicle. According to NBC DFW, Fort Worth police were dispatched to Avington Way on the evening of July 16 to investigate reports of a burglary. The burglary victim told police he had arrived home to find three individuals hauling his property out of his house. When he approached them, one of the suspects pointed a handgun at him and told him to stay back. Then all three suspects climbed into a silver Dodge Avenger and sped away. FWPD officers spotted the Avenger a short time later on Sycamore School Road and, after the car refused to pull over, the chase was on. Police chased the burglary suspects through the city at speeds approaching 100 mph until the Avenger blew a red light and was t-boned by an oncoming pickup at the intersection of California Parkway and James Avenue. As the pursuing officers closed in on the disabled car, it suddenly caught fire. One suspect bailed out and ran for it, but the remaining two were trapped inside with the flames quickly mounting. Despite the spreading fire and the threat of armed suspects in the vehicle, police officers rushed to pull the men from the wreck. The driver was removed easily, but the passenger was unconscious and trapped behind a crushed passenger door. The scene was caught on the officers' body cameras as they pried the door open with their bare hands. Eventually the officers got the semi-conscious man out of the passenger seat just as the car was completely engulfed in flames. "It was pretty dramatic. We recruit people that can think on the fly, think quickly, and perform under pressure," FWPD Sergeant Marc Povero told WFAA. All three suspects are facing charges for burglary, and the driver was charged with evading arrest. Nissan Leaf sets another monthly sales record, Chevy Volt remains steady

Mon, Nov 3 2014

Here we go again. Another month in the books and another month of record sales by the Nissan Leaf in the US. For October, the world's best-selling pure EV sold 2,589 units, which is 29.3 percent more than October 2013. That makes it 20 times in a row that Nissan can say that last month sales were better than the same month a year before. All told, Nissan has sold 24,411 Leafs in the US this year, a new record, reflecting an overall Leaf sales rate that is up 35 percent, year-to-date. Nissan isn't stopping, either. A new TV ad, one that, "encourages consumers to kick gas" by saving money on fuel will start airing today in major markets, according to Toby Perry, director of Nissan's EV marketing. You can watch it below. As for the Chevy Volt, things remained steady last month in the face of a new model that's coming in the second half of 2015. Chevy sold 1,439 Volts last month, which is about the same as September (1,394) but down 28.8 percent from the October 2013 despite GM having its best overall US October sales this year since 2007. So far, 2014 Volt year-to-date sales are down 14.9 percent through the end of October compared to 2013. And that wraps up the flash report on monthly sales for these two long-standing plug-in vehicles in the US market. As always, we'll have our in-depth write-up of US green car sales available soon. For now, we await your comments, below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.

GM learning from current Chevy Volt owners as it works on next-gen model

Tue, Sep 16 2014

Details of the second-generation Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in hybrid are coming in at a trickle, and the latest is that the 2016 model-year Volt will be improved in all meaningful areas, including performance and all-electric range, says General Motors powertrain director Larry Nitz. 60 percent of Volt customers only charge using a standard 110 outlet. Nitz was speaking to Autoline After Hours about the current and future Volt. He said that GM has been tracking Volt driving habits and found that about two-thirds of the Volts' collective miles are driven in electric mode, and that 81 percent of all Volt trips were done in pure EV mode. Additionally, Volt drivers plug the car in 10 times each week, on average. Nitz also said 82 percent of the Volt's commuting miles are coming from the plug instead of the gas tank. Oh, and 60 percent of Volt customers only charge using a standard 110 outlet. Last month, GM released a teaser shot of the 2016 Volt (above) and said the car would make its worldwide debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show next January. Earlier this year, the Volt was reported to be getting a new chassis for the upcoming version. The Volt could use a bit of new life. Through August, Volt sales were down 12 percent from a year earlier to 13,146 units, and sales plunged 25 percent alone. That compares unfavorably to the Nissan Leaf battery-electric vehicle, whose 2014 sales have jumped 34 percent to almost 19,000 units. You can see Nitz dish the goods in the video below (Volt comments start at around minute 15). You will also notice AutoblogGreen contributor Gary Witzenburg talk about his history with the EV1 and share his take on the Volt. This content is hosted by a third party.
