This is a project truck I've been working on for a few years  and now  realize I may not have the time to complete it. I purchased a solid western cab with nose from the viking series, which has the larger flared front fenders and different grill then a standard series. And also a longer Step side  bed as well. There is some ares that need repair on the sheet metal ,but it is minimal. I placed the cab on a 2007.5 chevy 4x4 2500 series case, motor and every thing else that comes on a 2007.5 below the sheet metal. The 2007.5  donor truck  was hit on the top and side. It started and ran great ,87K. Also 6 speed auto trans and 4x4 worked well. No frame damage noted as well. The rear  end(limited slip) did take a hit and needs minor  repair but will be full functional with the minor repairs. I have replacement rear leaf springs , all computers, wiring harnesses, steering wheel with air bag, gas pedal (2007.5),a/c parts,cd radio am/fm, bumpers, 2007 seats and all other parts that I have stored will go with the truck. As you can see the project needs to be finished. Bed is not on truck.email any questions,or additional photos.local pickup, at buyer expense, I can hold for a month or so with $200. pay pal deposit.will assist in loading.the motor is a vortex 6.0 with variable timing ,aluminum heads, factory exhaust. the frame of the donor truck will probable need to be cut to fit the steep side bed.
AS YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW, THE PRICE OF A GOOD 6.0 MOTOR,6SP AUTO.TRANS & 4X4 PARTS EQUAL WHAT I'M ASKING HERE.   i have many photos if interested.thanks for looking

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.

GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.
