Before the description a brief history lesson. I have had a lot  cars over the years, mainly V8 Fords, and thought it would be nice to try something different. A nice funky 50's pickup eather Ford or Chevy.  Not a show car but a driver and not to expensive. I found the truck locally owned by a women for the last 15-20 years and only driven occassionally. While it looks like a 53 it is really a miss-mosh of 53 and 55. The cab is 55 and the rest, front sheet metal and rear bed and fenders, are 53.  But I like the look of a 53 over a 55 and bought it. The issue is the truck is bigger in overall size then I really wanted, takes up my whole garage and have not been happy with my purchase since day one. So I want to move on to something else. Because of it's makeup this is not a truck to restore. Streetrod ( how sinfull but ok in this case) or leave alone as a funky old truck to drive around. I always get the thumbs up espically from the women who seem to like old trucks and at my age that includes the older women. Enough rambling with the past now for the description

Like I stated the truck is a mixture of parts But is a nice looking vehicle. Blue paint was done many years ago and has held up well. You can see a few spots where old body work was done but no holes you can look through. There is one spot where the paint is lifting and you might want to touch up but I have left alone. Truck looks nice in a walk around. Interior was done over and in a roll and pleat. 235 6 which starts right and idles like an old Caddy. No smoke and runs strong with good oil pressure. 3 speed tramsmission with Hurst floor shifter and open drive rear end.New front wheel bearings and seals.Wheel cylinders, drums and linings are in great shape and stops beautifully. I put in new wiring and all lights and directionls  and horn work. New Halagon headlamps. New radiator, hoses, belts, fluids, 6volt battery and cables. With it's low rear,4/11??, it pulls strong off the line. There was an old non original radio which is removed and I have not replaced. Wipers work fine with new blades. Frame and underneath while old is in fine shape with no rust out.
I have done some work on the truck but have decided that I do not want to put any more money into this project. I just don't love it enough. I drive around on the present tires but they should be promptly replaced. Drivers door latch should be replaced and I cracked the drivers door glass because I was to lazy to fix the lock and kept slamming the door.Gas gauge and speedo need fixing.Steering should be looked at but I can drive it easily with no shimmy. Probably want seat belts. Have fun and sort things out as you go.
Truck is registured as a 1955 and id plate matches registration.  Current NYS  plates and inspection. Sold with New York State transferable registration and bill of sale. No titles in NY befor 1974. Visits and rides are welcome and I can do a Skype walk around. Ask questions and prefer phone calls over emails. Have I left anything out? Bill

The 2019 North American International Auto Show might have been a little more quiet than past years, but there were still some pretty major reveals, including the Toyota Supra, new Ford Explorer, Shelby GT500, Subaru WRX STI S209 and Kia Telluride. We also saw some lovely concepts like the Nissan IMs and Lexus LC Convertible. Senior Editor Alex Kierstein, Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski and Senior Green Editor John Beltz Snyder join me, Associate Editor Reese Counts — with Social Media Manager Michael Dylan Ferrara behind the camera — on a long walk through the show. We discuss cars, poke around the stands, dress a bloody wound and answer your questions in the Facebook comments. For more Detroit coverage, you can check out Autoblog's picks for the best in show, listen to our podcast or look at the best images from all the reveals. Here are the best-selling cars and trucks from January 2015

Fri, Feb 6 2015

Every month, Autoblog slogs through all the sales figures reported by automakers that do business in the United States, and, after a little bit of sorting, we put it into an easy-to-read chart in an attempt to make it as easy as possible to follow the ins and outs of sales and shipments. But that only covers the brands themselves, not the individual models they sell. And we think you'd all be interested in knowing which vehicles beat their rivals in sales from month to month, so we've put together this handy gallery to keep you in the know. While the leader of the pack may not come as much of a surprise, the order that the top ten finishes in changes frequently – due to automaker deals, the price of gas, etc. – and we've included some statistics to help you see how their current performance stacks up to month's past.
