You just don't get the chance to buy a show quality vehicle like this everyday!

Check out this really nice Restorod restoration of a
1953 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup truck. Stk# 14787 VIN LBM218642
Granny's Wagon is ready to drive to your local cruise, street rod show or just enjoy as a really standout daily driver. Perhaps you want to promote your business, this truck would work perfectly for that too.

A
Chevy 350ci 4 bolt main, high nickel content 010 block ensures that if you want to upgrade and go down the supercharger route, you have the best block that Chevrolet made to build horsepower from. Cam is mild for highway use and it has highway gears, so cruising down the highway is effortless. It is very easy to drive!

From what we can see, it looks like it has been built on a Chevy S10 chassis, but I haven't put it up on the ramp to confirm this.

It drives down the road very nicely, has plenty of power with it's Edelbrock Streetmaster intake manifold, Accel Ignition, tubular headers and new dual exhaust system that sounds great, deep and throaty without being obnoxious!

Tires are BFGoodrich Radial T/As 235/60R14 on the front with 255/60R15 on the back and are in excellent condition. Wheels are the classic looking American Racing Chrome 5 spokes.

The paint is really nice with some subtle pin-striping and the previous owner never drove in the rain and always dusted it down with a soft cloth after any use. Rear camper box is custom made and although was built to stay on, it wouldn't take much to remove it if you prefer the straight pickup look. We don't have a rear tailgate for it if you did this however.

Interior is buttoned brown velour. It is a very civilized truck, an easy daily driver. It has
Power Steering, Power Brakes & Power Windows. Engine runs smoothly, no flat spots, transmission shifts well. Suspension is tight and quiet. Steering is precise. Truck could easily handle a lot more power if that is your thing! You will have to go a long way to find such a nice running truck. Reserve is set lower than we have been asking locally!

You certainly won't be disappointed in this truck!
Drive off the lot and straight into a show, promote your business and use as a tax write off, use as a cool daily driver, supercharge and tub the rear end and make it a street machine, use it as it is or as a great platform for a high dollar show vehicle, It's you choice, it can be anything you want it to be!

GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.

Impala SS vs. Marauder: Recalling Detroit’s muscle sedans

Thu, Apr 30 2020

Impala SS vs. Marauder — it was comparo that only really happened in theory. ChevyÂ’s muscle sedan ran from 1994-96, while MercuryÂ’s answer arrived in 2003 and only lasted until 2004. TheyÂ’re linked inextricably, as there were few options for powerful American sedans during that milquetoast period for enthusiasts. The debate was reignited recently among Autoblog editors when a pristine 1996 Chevy Impala SS with just 2,173 miles on the odometer hit the market on Bring a Trailer. Most of the staff favored the Impala for its sinister looks and said that it lived up to its billing as a legit muscle car. Nearly two-thirds of you agree. We ran an unscientific Twitter poll that generated 851 votes, 63.9 percent of which backed the Impala. Muscle sedans, take your pick: — Greg Migliore (@GregMigliore) April 14, 2020 Then and now enthusiasts felt the Impala was a more complete execution with guts. The Marauder, despite coming along later, felt more hacked together, according to prevailing sentiments. Why? On purpose and on paper theyÂ’re similar. The ImpalaÂ’s 5.7-liter LT1 V8 making 260 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque was impressive for a two-ton sedan in the mid-Â’90s. The Marauder was actually more powerful — its 4.6-liter V8 was rated at 302 hp and 318 lb-ft. The ImpalaÂ’s engine was also used in the C4 Corvette. The MarauderÂ’s mill was shared with the Mustang Mach 1. You can see why they resonated so deeply with Boomers longing for a bygone era and also captured the attention of coming-of-age Gen Xers. Car and DriverÂ’s staff gave the Marauder a lukewarm review back in ‘03, citing its solid handling and features, yet knocking the sedan for being slow off the line. In a Hemmings article appropriately called “Autopsy” from 2004, the ImpalaÂ’s stronger low-end torque and smooth shifting transmission earned praise, separating it from the more sluggish Mercury. All of this was captured in the carsÂ’ acceleration times, highlighting metrically the differences in their character. The Impala hit 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds, while the Marauder was a half-second slower, according to C/D testing. Other sites have them closer together, which reinforces the premise it really was the little things that separated these muscle cars. Both made the most of their genetics, riding on ancient platforms (FordÂ’s Panther and General MotorsÂ’ B-body) that preceded these cars by decades. Both had iconic names.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
