For sale is a 1953 Chevy Truck that I have been working on for qutie a while. Truck has a 5.3L Chevy motor out of a 2006 truck, a matching 4l60E, and with only 60,000 on the odometer. Brand new drive shaft built by Drive Line 1 out of Columbus, Ohio. Harness was bought from and tuned by LSX4U.com out of Maine with the electronic throttle. Has a brand new Tanks Inc. 16 gallon tank and sending unit, with a fuel pump to handle up to 600 hp, and the supporting fuel regulator/filter from the corvettes. All fuel lines and trans cooler line were ran with 6 A.N. line. 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rears Boss 338 Wheels, wrapped in Nitto Neo Gen tires. 10 bolt Non-Posi Rear end with drum brakes. Front big 11.5" Disc brake kit with drilled and slotted rotors. Mustang II front suspension from a mid 70's mustang. New Champion 4 core radiator with 16 " fan and a built in trans cooler. Chassis mounted power brake booster and master cylinder. 32" trans mount Lokar Shifter. Chrome tilt Column with turn and hazards built in. Grant steering wheel. Manual steering rack with borgenson joints and stainless steering shaft. New glass all the way around except for in the doors. ( Do not have glass for those yet). Frame has been POR-15 painted. Has a completely re-built seat with a cream colored seat cover. Installed a full Ridetech air ride system. This is not a cheap put together system, it was purchased directly from Ridetech. The system has the dual compressors and large tank upgrade along with the red billet valves. The mustang II Air-Ride set up is from Ridetech also. The only thing not Ridetech is the rear bags. I used larger Slam Specialties bags for a better ride. The truck still needs Gauges, carpeted, doors put together, door glass bought, bed wood bought and installed, and could use an alignment. I'm getting very busy and someone else could finish this truck the way they would want too saving the labor charges of me doing it. Ive got 100's of hours in fabrication and install between the motor and air-ride. Asking 21,500 as is or will finish with complete interior for 26,000. Thanks for looking.

I will add things as i remember them, The truck has all stainless steel lines other than the hard bends, which we used NIcopp line. The truck now has the front bumper on and headlights going in tonight. I will snag some more pictures tonight of the interior.

On Jun-17-14 at 10:52:28 PDT, seller added the following information:

I wanted the ground clearance so i didn't put the running boards on the ground. But if you would like too i have a step notch kit from gambino customs to go with it. As for the doors not being together, the ones that came with it were shot. I bought bare doors from kansas and they are 100% rust free. Just need new glass and everything else will need to be transferred over from original doors. Have decent door panels with steel frames to go along, new billet window crank, billet door opener, and billet door sill plates. All of those are polished.

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.

Chevrolet To Oversee Restoring Sinkhole Corvettes

Fri, Feb 14 2014

What Mother Earth devoured, Chevrolet plans to resurrect. The carmaker said Thursday it will oversee restoration of the classic cars swallowed by a huge sinkhole beneath the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky. General Motors Design in Warren, Mich., will manage the painstaking work to repair the eight prize vehicles, the automaker said Thursday. The cars were consumed when the earth opened up early Wednesday beneath a display area when the museum in Bowling Green, Ky., was closed. No injuries were reported. The museum was open Thursday except for the area where the sinkhole occurred. Mark Reuss, GM's head of global product development, said the damaged vehicles rank as "some of the most significant in automotive history." "There can only be one 1-millionth Corvette ever built," he said, referring to one of the damaged cars. "We want to ensure as many of the damaged cars are restored as possible so fans from around the world can enjoy them." Just how the cars will be pulled out of the ground remains to be seen, said museum executive director Wendell Strode. The local fire department estimated the hole is about 40 feet across and 25 to 30 feet deep. The hole opened beneath part of the museum's domed section. "We feel pretty confident that most of the cars can be extracted," Strode said Thursday. "And we hope and believe that with just a little bit of luck, that all eight cars can be extracted and be part of the restoration." Chevrolet spokesman Monte Doran said some of the cars look to be in good shape, while others are buried in rubble. "It will likely be several weeks until we can get the cars out and assessed," he said. The GM Design team has helped restore other historic cars, but the Corvette project looks to be its biggest, he said. "These Corvettes are part of our history, and they want them restored properly," Strode said. "We're thrilled they're doing this." The cars looked like toys as they plunged into the hole, piled in a heap amid dirt and concrete fragments. The museum owns six of the cars while two - a 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 Blue Devil - are on loan from General Motors. The other cars damaged were a 1962 black Corvette, a 1984 PPG Pace Car, a 1992 White 1 Millionth Corvette, a 1993 Ruby Red 40th Anniversary Corvette, a 2001 Mallett Hammer Z06 Corvette and a 2009 white 1.5 Millionth Corvette. Pictures of the sinkhole showed a collapsed section of floor with multiple cars visible inside the hole.

This 450-hp electric Lotus Evora is powered by Tesla and Chevrolet

Tue, May 9 2017

When someone mentions an electric Lotus, the first thing that comes to mind is the Tesla Roadster, the California-based automaker's first vehicle. That car started life as an Elise before being heavily massaged and adapted by Tesla's engineers. In a similar spirit, the people at Onpoint Dyno are close to finishing Blue Lightning, a track-ready all-electric Lotus Evora. Blue Lightning uses a Tesla drive unit and a Chevrolet Volt battery pack, both mounted in the middle in place of the Evora's 3.5-liter Toyota V6. It's putting down about 450 horsepower at the wheels. The car was built for time attack sessions, so power is fed through custom forged wheels and super sticky Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires, the same ones found on the last Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. There is a custom digital instrument cluster in place of the Lotus gauges. There's also a regen paddle on the left side of the steering wheel. With a full charge, Blue Lighting should go about 120 miles. While the car runs under its own power, it's only about 90 percent complete. It has no power steering, no firewall in between the seats and the motor and battery pack, no A/C, and a large hole where the shift lever used to be. Other final touches include fine-tuning the brakes and suspension. There is also a custom rear bumper coming that should make it look more like the new Lotus Evora 400. Onpoint Dyno expects the car to hit the track in the next month or so. Related Video:
