1952 Chevrolet Truck 3100 Standard Cab Pickup 2-door on 2040-cars
Daleville, Alabama, United States
Up for auction is my 1952 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup. I purchased the truck locally just over a year ago with the intentions of restoring it. When I purchased it the original 216 ran good. It also drove and stopped well. The previous owner replaced many brake and fuel components and upgraded it to 12v. I replace the plugs, wires, fuel pump, rebuilt the carb and put in a new battery. It ran just as it should before I started to disassemble it. This is a project I started but unfortunately due to military relocation I am unable to finish it. The truck really is not as bad as the pictures make it out to be. This is a southern truck so rust is minimal for its age. I started to replace the floor pans (see pics). The cab corners and rockers are original metal and in great shape. There are various dings, dents and minor rust spots throughout the vehicle. Again, understand this is a project! This truck is complete except for windshield and rear glass, tailgate and some bed ribs. I have extra parts including a set of doors, a rebuildable 235 short block and various other parts. I recently had the seat reupholstered (top and bottom). It's sitting on brand new white wall tires ordered from diamondback tires ($849.00 I have the receipt). The steering wheel has also been redone. I have approximately $1000.00 of odds and ends from LMC truck that will also go with in the sale including but not limited to floor pans (the passenger side is almost done). I really hate to sell this project but I know I won't get it done anytime soon. Due to its current state, the truck does not run. It does roll and stop just fine. It may be running in the next couple days if I find time to mess with it. The truck does not come with a title because Alabama does not issues titles for vehicles this old. It is currently registered and insured in my name. All you need is a copy of the current registration, a bill of sale and if your state requires a title, they will be able to issue one. This is a project that could quickly be put back together and on the road within a of couple days. If you have any questions, feel free to email me and I will do my best to answer them. Also, if you would like to look at the truck in person, please contact me and we can arrange a showing. Truck is for sale locally so I have the right to end auction early. Truck must be picked up ASAP after auction. Like I said, I'm moving and it has to go. The truck is located in Daleville AL, approximately 25 minutes west of Dothan, AL Happy bidding. $100.00 NON-REFUNDABLE PayPal deposit due within 48 hrs. I prefer the remaining balance to be paid in cash at pickup. |

Chevy Trax engineer says GMC version possible
Mon, Dec 8 2014The Buick Encore is doing so well and its platform-mate the Chevrolet Trax has such good reviewer vibes going for it already, that a GMC version hasn't been ruled out. During the recent press launch, Automotive News asked lead engineer Al Manzor if the Trax could wear a GMC-branded suit, to which Manzor replied, "I think that is certainly possible." That's a long way from telling us anything about the probability of a GMC version of the Trax, and a legion of questions would need to be answered before it could happen. How would a GMC version be priced to leave room for the $26,465 GMC Terrain but not eat into sales of the $20,995 Trax or the $24,035 Encore? Or would that matter? Could it primarily be considered to encourage a new faction of The Yukon Set at the compact end, GMC buyers being famously committed to the marque? And of course, would there be a Denali version? It'll probably be a long while before we have any kind of answers, but if you want to see it happen, the door to your campaign of persuasion is at least ajar.
GM profits threatened by glut of pickups
Wed, 05 Dec 2012Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.
Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica
Fri, 03 Aug 2012If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.
