Hello Folks! For your consideration:
1951 Chevy 1/2 Ton Pick-Up Truck ground up restoration.
Features: 1962 - 261 cubic inches inline six cylinder engine with 235 - 848 head for more compression, rebuilt with approximately 12k miles(proven runner). Stock cam, all new parts. Offenhauser twin intake with two Holly/Webber deuce carburetors, Fenton cast-iron dual headers, original Offenhauser valve cover, reproduction Offenhauser side cover, S-10 v6 electronic ignition(looks like original), aluminum retro air cleaners, 3 core radiator(never overheats), S-10 T-5 speed transmission fully rebuilt with close ratio B&M shifter. New clutch and all parts, 95 Astro drive line(uncut), original rear end with '58 Chevy pick-up third member with 390 gears. This combination allows the truck to travel 70-75 mph @ 2000rpm with great fuel economy. Dual exhaust done right with 31" Smitty's, pipes are iodized for rust prevention with chrome dual tips.
Power brake with dual master cylinder below floor board, not on firewall, new shoe brakes and all new hardware(stops on a dime).
History: The '51 was taken down to metal and the body was meticulously massaged, aligning every panel, new bedsides, new tailgate, and new head board. Then it was painted 1951 medium cream with clear coat(everybody has a green one). Bed is red oak, custom cut with no holes in the wood; T-bolts hold the aluminum strips down. This truck has no rust and replaced floor pan to accommodate new position for brake master reservoir and shifter position, so it has a cleaner look.
All electrical is new, wiring, one hundred amp alternator with internal regulator(chrome alternator 12v). All rebuilt gauges with auxiliary temperature gage for accuracy. Speedo is new, but sticks on 30mph and I don't know why.
All new tinted glass and all new rubber trim throughout the entire truck. Interior was all insulated with sound-deadening material even in the doors(closes like a fridge).
I didn't finish the interior because I couldn't make up my mind on what color I should use, however a complete interior kit in black goes with the truck. Also, a new custom Audiosound radio with speakers. New window regulators: I have the handles, but you need to provide the window crank handles. Missing glove box liner. Wiper motor converted to electric for reliability and safety. I also have the new rubber floor mat; you'll have to cut a hole for the shifter. Interior was painted in the original color with clear coat added for protection.
A few things that will need to be done, will be hooking up the spotlight(GM script), heater and horn.
Folks, to sum it up: I've owned the truck since the late 90's and drove it every day. Then I decided to restore it. Restoration was completed just 3 years ago and haven't put 500 miles since then. It was never to intend to be sold. Drives better than intended. Steering is tight & suspension is redone.
Winning: I reserve the right to end the auction early, since this truck is for sale locally. No scammers and no low ballers. Serious inquiries only. Will consider out of country sale. Please call my direct line for further consideration.
Please Note: The license plates seen in the photos are not included in the auction, however they may be purchased seperately. California buyers: back license fees are due on vehicle(approx. $360). Title in hand.
If you have zero feedback please contact me before placing a bid or your bid will be canceled.

General Motors is recalling almost 3,200 of its compressed-natural-gas powered utility vans because of possible leaks. GM and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released a notice last week saying that 3,196 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana CNG vans are on recall, though no accidents have been reported due to the possible issue. The recall is specifically for vans for model years ranging from 2011 to 2014. The recall stems from a potential leak from the compressed natural gas high-pressure regulator, and such a leak could cause a fire or explosion. GM will replace the vehicles' high-pressure regulator in order to fix the problem, will do it free of charge and is instructing owners to contact Chevrolet or GMC customer service to arrange for the parts replacement. Utility vehicle makers like General Motors have pushed for fleet sales of CNG-powered vans and trucks for the past few years and have touted them for their cheaper refueling costs relative to standard gasoline, not to mention the fact that natural gas can be readily sourced from throughout North America (thanks, fracking). According to CNGPrices.com, compressed natural gas sells for about $2.22 a gallon, on average, while the AAA is pegging the average price of gas at $3.34 a gallon. NHTSA has posted information on the recall here. Featured Gallery News Source: NHTSA via Reuters Green Chevrolet GM GMC Natural Gas Vehicles CNG gmc savana
When it comes to our cars, is the Internet of Things a godsend? Or a hidden menace that will create more problems than it will solve? On the same day General Motors announced it will equip newer-model cars with its in-dash Marketplace e-commerce app, a prominent safety group was shooting it down. National Safety Council President Deborah Hersman tells Bloomberg the technology will only contribute to distracted driving and hurt efforts to stem the tide of rising auto fatalities, which grew 5.6 percent to more than 37,000 in the U.S. in 2016. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says distracted driving was responsible for 3,477 fatalities and 391,000 injuries in 2015, the most recent year for which it has data. "There's nothing about this that's safe," Hersman told Bloomberg. "If this is why they want WiFi in the car, we're going to see fatality numbers go up even higher than they are now." Marketplace, developed with IBM, will allow drivers — or more often, one hopes, their passengers — to order coffee or food, find gas stations and reserve hotel rooms from their dashboard screens. The technology is set to be uploaded automatically to nearly 1.9 million GM vehicles model-year 2017 and later that are equipped with WiFi hotspots and compatible systems. By the end of 2018, about 4 million Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles will be equipped with Marketplace. The app will debut with a limited number of participating retailers, including TGI Fridays, Shell, Exxon Mobil and Starbucks, with more likely to join later. Online retail giant Amazon is also partnering with automakers such as Ford to bring e-commerce capabilities inside the car through its Alexa personal assistant. While convenience is nice, one other thing is becoming clear as the IoT wedges its way into our cars: It's taking aim at some decidedly first-world problems.Related Video: Image Credit: GM Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GM GMC Technology Infotainment in-car entertainment marketplace e-commerce
The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television. Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
