What you are bidding on is a 1949 Chevy 5 window Pickup Truck with disc brakes, power steering, 4 speed transmission and a 383 stroker motor that not only looks cool but also drives like a beast. This truck has more power than I know what to do with. I will do my best to describe this truck and please feel free to contact me at anytime for questions regarding the truck.
Interior:
The interior of the truck is mostly new. It has new custom black door panels, new custom black headliner, new black carpet with sound deadening material, etc. Also, new door glass and new windshield glass. The rear cab windows are original. The seats are all power seats taken from a BMW and I believe they have more than 7 different power mechanisms that make it pretty comfortable to sit in. The seats have little wear on the driverside, however no rips or tear and still very comfortable. The dash is intact and is not all cut up. It is still in very nice shape. The heater and dash lights do work. The speedometer does not work, however it has a pretty cool four gauge set up as you can see in the pics. Also the gas, brake and clutch pedals are really cool looking for the style of truck. The heater also works quite well.
Powertrain:
The motor is a very strong running 383 stroker motor with a four barrel Holly carb. The motor has less than 2K miles. It has a lot of power and quick response. The truck also has a very good/strong 4 speed transmission. The clutch is still very strong and has a lot of life. The exhaust is all new and it sounds very good and turns a lot of heads. With power steering and disc brakes this truck is a blast to drive. It also has electric fans and all the lights work. It has a Ford 9" rear end that is very strong.
Body:
The body is painted in satin black (aka Matte Black). The body is pretty straight and it has a great look. I wanted the same look as the truck that was in the First Expendables Movie (I know that was a Ford truck but it still looked really cool). The body may not be perfect but it is still in very good shape. This truck is a great California truck so no rust issues. The bed is a new oak bed with new chrome bed strips. The under side of the truck is in great shape as well and the floors are solid. The battery has been relocated to the underside of the truck and the engine bay is very clean. The rims are American Racing Torque Thrust II 17" rims with beefy tires. The rims and tires are in great shape as well.
I do hold the title and it is clear and registered currently. This is a California Truck. I also do reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Please feel free to contact me at 916-262-6971 via text or telephone call if you have any further questions or follow up. My reserve for this truck is low compared to how much money I have invested.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*
Fri, 26 Apr 2013After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
A conversation with GM's Mark Reuss on MPG, aluminum and Corvettes
Wed, Feb 19 2014There was plenty to talk about when General Motors hosted its annual mid-December holiday media reception a few months ago. GM had just decided to pull its global Chevrolet brand out of major European markets, where Chevys have competed directly with GM Europe Opel and Vauxhall vehicles, and the US government had sold its last remaining shares of GM stock. But most important was the company's just-reshuffled leadership. Post-bankruptcy CEO Dan Akerson had announced that he would step aside and that 52-year-old Mary Barra would replace him on January 15. Not only would she be the first woman to lead a major automaker, she would also be GM's first engineer CEO since Bob Stempel in the early 1990s. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors" - Mark Reuss Replacing her as executive VP for global product development (and purchasing and supply chain) would be 49-year-old Mark Reuss, who had served a stellar four years as North American president, and elevated to corporate president (from executive VP and CFO) would be 42-year-old Dan Amman. All three are relatively young auto enthusiasts who are liked and respected inside and outside the company, and their collective talents and experience are highly complementary. I've interviewed Barra and found her smart, personable and knowledgeable, though she carefully walks the corporate line in speaking and answering questions. I met and chatted with Ammann for the first time at that holiday reception, and he made a good first impression. But I've known Reuss for some time as a genuinely good guy and a highly capable and inspiring leader, and I believe he is exactly the right person for the global product responsibility once famously held by the outspoken, oft-controversial Bob Lutz. So I jumped at an opportunity to join a group interview of Reuss (with mostly business reporters) at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It was an interesting session of mostly good questions, which he answered with refreshing candor and humor. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors," Reuss said. "We've taken down almost every plant in North America, converted and turned it this last year, and to do that with award-winning vehicles and pretty flawless launches is key. We have to keep the train rolling on great product, because the rest won't happen without the best product, period." A reporter asked whether GM was pushing big trucks, SUVs and Corvettes again because gas is cheap. "No," Reuss said.
GM files to trademark name Badlands
Mon, Feb 23 2015If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon.
