This truck is drop dead gorgeous. Completely restored in 2007. This truck has never been in the rain, always garaged (of course), and runs like a champ. I will do my best to describe everything so the winner knows exactly what they are buying. Once the reserve is met, high bidder owns it. If you have any questions or doubts, please ask or just do not bid. This is a beautiful preowned and 60+ year old vehicle. It is sold as is with no warranty implied.

The monster 454 that is crammed in there runs great and strong. Very easy starting and has a great low rumble through the exhaust. It is backed by a Turbo 400 automatic which has a very slow leak at the rear seal, I believe. It is slow and never bothered me because I was going to put a 4 speed auto in it anyway. Just never got around to it. The engine runs nice and cool in part by its two electric fans. The A/C runs ICE-cold and can handle this Florida heat with no problem. There have been many unique touches done to this truck which makes it look flat out cooler than any other out there. The most notable would be the flared fenders. It also has power steering and a parking brake which I've never used because it looks to me as the release mechanism has become disconnected or was never properly installed. As you can see in the photos, the firewall is nice and cleaned up in part because I removed the heater hoses. It looks better without them and I do not need them in Florida. Hook them back up if you like. The brake booster has been moved to under the driver's seat and the battery is moved under the passenger's seat. Boom. Clean firewall.

All the gauges work, but the speedometer is not accurate. All the lights work except the interior left turn blinker. The exterior lights function perfectly. But that one interior one does not. There is a master shut-off. There is an alarm in this truck that absolutely drove me nuts. I took out the blaring siren, but if you set the alarm off, the hazards still blink. It has an airbag-ride system up front so you can select your desired ride height. When you park the truck, you must have the wheels straight as they airbags are designed to leak out slowly over a couple of days. When I parked it for several days, I always put hard rubber blocks under the truck and released a lot of the air so the truck wouldn't lay on the ground and it released some of that pressure. Don't turn the wheels to sharply if you're riding low. It will rub. I usually ran it at about 80 lbs. That kept the wheels the most perpendicular to the ground. This truck has brand new tires all the way around. It has ORIGINAL Boyd Coddington junkyard dog wheels on this truck. You can't get them like this anymore. They were not offered in a chrome finish. The original owner had them chromed, but it is now starting to pit and flake off. I would HIGHLY recommend keeping these wheels and re-chroming them. That was my intention, anyway. The truck currently has 1 inch lowering blocks in the rear. It had 3 inch lowering blocks under there, but it rode a little rougher.

I drive this truck. About once or twice every two weeks. I drive it to work and I drive it to shows. Therefor, the paint is not perfect. There are numerous little chips and a couple of scratches. Some of the larger ones have been touched up. I think this is a testament to the reliability of how well this truck drives and performs. YOU CAN ACTUALLY DRIVE IT. By far the worst scratches are on the running boards, where apparently one of the previous owners thought it was OK to step on them getting in and out of the truck. Thankfully, I believe these running boards can be unbolted, re-shot, and bolted right back into place. That easy. Again, one of the things I planned on doing but never got around to it. Please be aware this vehicle has paint blemishes and is not perfect.

The interior is beautiful and simple. Dash is painted blue, steering wheel wrapped in blue leather, and blue leather seats. It has a radio but it not hooked up. It does have an iPod terminal which is hooked up and works great. The air bag toggles and gauges are located in the center console. None of the panels covered in black fabric are
permanently attached. This is to allow access to the airbag hoses and connectors should they ever need work. Mileage shows 8600 miles, but true milage is unknown. This vehicle does not look like it has been driven 8600 miles. There is wear on the leather that covers the seatbelt sleeve and a tear on it as well. The previous owner installed speakers in the kick panels and he ran speaker wire where the battery access panel is. Kinda the short way out, but it's OK. It's an awesome truck.

I will do my best to make myself available for these inspections, as I am not going to leave this truck alone with anyone. And please, don't have our local Pep Boys or something do the inspection. Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.

GM veteran Bryan Nesbitt tapped to head Buick design

Sat, Jun 6 2015

General Motors styling veteran Bryan Nesbitt (pictured above) took over a new role on Monday as executive director of global Buick design and global architectures. Andrew Smith, who previously did that job and also coordinated the look for Cadillac, has remained in charge of the pen at Caddy with this shift. Nesbitt rose to prominence when he designed the Chrysler PT Cruiser, according to Automotive News. He joined GM in 2001 and has been there ever since in multiple high-level roles. In 2007, he was appointed vice president of design for North America and was later briefly general manager of Cadillac in 2009-2010. Nesbitt took over as the vice president of GM's international operations design in China in 2011. This shuffle also moves Ken Parkinson, currently styling boss for Chevrolet trucks, to China as design vice president there. In addition, John Cafaro becomes the person in charge of the look for Chevy globally, rather than previously splitting that role between cars and trucks with Parkinson. GM Global Design Leadership Changes – effective June 1, 2015. Bryan Nesbitt, Design Vice President, GM China will repatriate to North America and assume the position of Executive Director, Global Buick and Global Architectures. He will be located in Warren, MI. Bryan will be the design Champion for Buick in the US and China. Ken Parkinson, Executive Director, Global Chevrolet Trucks and Global Architecture will assume the position of Design Vice President, GM China. He will be based in Shanghai, China. Andrew Smith, Executive Director, Global Cadillac and Buick Design will assume the position of Executive Director, Global Cadillac. He will continue to be the design Champion for the Cadillac brand. In addition, he will continue to lead the Global Color & Trim team. He will be based in Warren, Michigan. John Cafaro, Executive Director, Global Chevrolet Cars will assume the position of Executive Director, Global Chevrolet. He will be the design Champion for Chevrolet. In addition, John will lead the exterior components and accessories team. He will continue to be based in Warren, MI. The roles and responsibilities of Helen Emsley, Mark Adams, Carlos Barba, Clay Dean, Michael Simcoe, and Teckla Rhoades remain the same. Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
