1949 Chevrolet Pickup Truck **original** Patina** Rat Rod** on 2040-cars
1949 3800 SERIES TRUCK WITH HYDRAULIC DUMP BOX.VERY ORIGINAL TRUCK.
I RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS TRUCK TO USE THE CAB AND FRONT END ON A NEWER CHASSIS SINCE THE CAB AND SHEET METAL IS THE SAME AS A HALF TON MODEL.I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE HAD BEEN REBUILT BY A LOCAL TECH SCHOOL CLASS. AFTER GETTING IT HOME AND REALIZING HOW MUCH MECHANICALLY HAD BEEN DONE TO THIS TRUCK I DECIDED NOT TO PART IT OUT.THE ORIGINAL 216 ENGINE HAS BEEN COMPLETELY GONE THROUGH.REBUILT STARTER,CARB,DISTRIBUTOR AND FUEL PUMP. NEW HOSES AND FAN BELT,MOTOR MOUNTS AND RADIATOR CLEANED OUT.THE CLUTCH HOLDS VERY WELL,IT WAS PROBABLY REPLACED ALSO.REBUILT MASTER CYLINDER.THE TRUCK RUNS AND STOPS VERY WELL!!! THE TRUCK HAD BEEN SITTING FOR AWHILE WHEN I BOUGHT IT,PUT IN A BATTERY AND FRESH GAS AND IT FIRED RIGHT UP. THE CHOKE CABLE WAS STICKING SO I REPLACE THAT.THE PTO ENGAGES THE DUMP BOX WHICH WORKS VERY WELL.I REPLACED THE HYDRAULIC HOSES AND THE ACTUATOR CABLE ON THE HOIST.I INSTALLED NEW FLOOR BOARDS AND SIDE RAILS ON THE BOX.THE FLOOR IS TREATED 2X8 AND THE SIDES ARE TREATED 2X4.I POWERWASHED AND UNDERCOATED REAR FRAME AND UNDERSIDE OF BOX AND PAINTED THE EXTERIOR OF THE BOX SEMI-GLOSS BLACK.BOX IS 7FT WIDE AND 8FT LONG. AS FAR AS THE BODY,I BUFFED THE PAINT WHICH LOOKS TO BE MOSTLY ORIGINAL,YOU CAN SEE SOME RED AND BLUE SHOWING THROUGH IN THE PICS WHICH ADDS TO THE PATINA! WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN SMOOTHLY,SMALL CRACK IN DRIVERS WINDOW,ALL OTHER GLASS GOOD,HAS MINIMAL RUST AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICS.THE AMP,OIL AND TEMP GAUGE OPERATE.THE FUEL GAUGE GOES WAY PAST FULL,IM ASSUMING A POOR CONNECTION BECAUSE THE HEADLIGHTS OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY.THE WIRING WILL NEED UPDATED WHICH IS FAIRLY INEXPENSIVE TO DO.I DIDNT DO IT BECAUSE THE NEW OWNER MAY WANT TO STAY WITH 6 VOLT OR UPGRADE TO 12 VOLT.THERE IS A GOOD USED 6VOLT BATTERY INCLUDED IN THE SALE. I REQUIRE A $500.00 DEPOSIT THROUGH PAYPAL WITHIN 12 HOURS AND REMAINDER IN CASH WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION CLOSE. CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE LESS THE 10 FEEDBACK.LOCATED IN STOUT IA 50673 ANY QUESTIONS CALL ME AT 319-239-5238 THANKS,JIM |

2020 Ford Escape hybrids vs other crossover fuel sippers: How they compare on paper
Wed, Apr 3 2019Along with a new generation of Escape, Ford also reintroduced the world to the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. And if that weren't enough, Ford is adding a plug-in hybrid version. This is a sign of the times: people are more crossover crazy than ever, but are also seeking ways to use less fuel, whether it's for environmental or purely money-motivated reasons. The Ford hybrids aren't the only fuel-efficient compact crossovers on the market. They will be going head-to-head with conventional hybrids including the 2019 Kia Niro, 2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid and 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. There are other plug-in hybrids including the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek PHEV, 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the plug-in version of the 2019 Kia Niro. There are even a couple diesels in the form of the 2019 Chevy Equinox and 2019 GMC Terrain. So we've rounded up the details on all these crossovers to see who leads and lags in criteria such as power, fuel efficiency, space and price. Check out all their details below. 2019 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid View 68 Photos How do their engines and fuel economy compare? Conventional Hybrids and Diesels Let's face it, if you're buying one of these crossovers, one of the things that matters most to you is just how frugal with fuel they are. We'll start off with the conventional hybrids and diesels, and the clear victor is the Kia Niro, which in base FE trim, manages to hit 50 mpg combined. This is thanks to it sharing its powertrain with the Hyundai Ioniq, the Hyundai equivalent of the Toyota Prius. Buyers should take note that only the FE returns such high fuel economy. The LX and EX drop to 49 mpg, and the S Touring and Touring get 43. Even then, the least efficient Niro is the most efficient of the normal hybrids and diesels. It is nearly the least powerful, though, with 139 horsepower. Just behind it is the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. It delivers 40 mpg combined, and it has an ace up its sleeve: it comes standard with all-wheel drive. Every other vehicle in this powertrain group has front drive standard, and the Niro isn't available with all-wheel drive at all. If that weren't enough, the RAV4 Hybrid also boasts the most power at 219 horses. While we can't say anything about Escape Hybrid fuel economy, we do know that it will make 198 horsepower, which is close to the class-leading RAV4. The least powerful of these is the Equinox and Terrain, and they return the worst fuel economy at 32 mpg.

China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division
Wed, Jan 7 2015An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
