1948 Chevrolet 3100 half ton pick-up. This truck is from Kansas and is in what I think is pretty good condition for an un-restored truck that has been outside for 66 years. It is mostly complete and has a patina that everyone is looking for right now. Truck looks to be original un-messed with condition. If you are looking for one to restore this one would be a good candidate because of its original and complete condition. If you want to build a patina hot rod the look of this one is tough to beat. Put it on that S10 frame with modern V8 or whatever. Or just use it for parts for another truck project. Your imagination is the limit. Please review the pictures carefully, ask questions. This is a 66 year old, non-operational truck. You decide its value. MECHANICAL CONDITION: Not presently running nor has it ran for many years. Has what looks to be the original six cylinder engine with original floor shift transmission. I think it’s a four speed. I have not tried to turn the engine over but I assume it is stuck. Transmission seems to go into gear but cannot verify its condition. Brakes don’t work. Safe to assume all need rebuilt, replaced, or at the very least taken apart and inspected. Truck dose roll and steer. I was able to load on my trailer with a small winch without any problem. Tires are in very poor condition but hold air for weeks, I assume they have tubes in them. Original 15” wheels with tabs for center caps-no center caps included with the truck. BODY CONDITION: You be the judge. Some might call this rough others only wish they could reproduce patina like this. Looks to be all original and un-messed with. The exception being the hood. The truck is red and the hood is from a green truck. Hood is included but not attached. No tail gate. No bed floor. Truck has rust in all the usual places for something that has been outside for 66 years. Cab corners, fender bottoms, floor board, kick panel area, etc. Grill bars are dented, missing emblems from hood. Has windshield and driver’s side door glass but they are in poor condition. Passenger side door glass is broken but window frame is there and rolls up and down. Doors shut and latch. I was attracted to the truck because of its patina and being mostly complete. Interior condition: Seat frame, gauges, radio delete panels, and dash chrome all present. Missing inside door mechanism for the passenger side. TITLE: Good clear and current Kansas title. Location: Located in Auburn Indiana (46706). Shipping: All shipping charges and arrangements are to be made by buyer. I can assist in loading but can’t single handedly load it. Truck does roll and steer. Tires hold air. No brakes, does not run. TERMS OF SALE Please remember this is a "PUBLIC AUCTION". As with all public auctions, the reserve price is not made public. Due to the interest these trucks generate on Ebay, we want to be fair to all interested parties who wish to bid on this truck. Disclosing the reserve price to those who would ask would be unethical as well as give them an "unfair advantage" over other bidders who wish to bid on it. It also holds down the bids if the reserve is made public. Please just bid what you feel this truck is worth and wait to see if you have won this auction. What you see in the pictures is what you get, there are no warranties expressed or implied. If you have negative feedback or feedback less than 25, please contact us prior to bidding so that your bid will not be canceled. Only serious bidders please. Please remember that your Ebay bid is a legal contract to purchase should you be the high bidder. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days by Paypal or bank wire transfer to bank. The remaining balance is to be paid within 7 days of end of auction by cash, personal check, cashier check or wire transfer. If cashier check or personal check are used on balance a hold will be put on truck until my bank says funds have cleared. I can not accept Paypal on balance due to the fees Paypal charges on sales of this amount. Truck will not leave till paid in full. photo IMG_0014_zps181816af.jpg photo IMG_0015_zps53a3d317.jpg photo IMG_0016_zpsac17eca2.jpg photo IMG_0017_zpsa939a06d.jpg photo IMG_0018_zps83dc0d75.jpg photo IMG_0019_zps3ff4a4d5.jpg photo IMG_0020_zpsef7d1d24.jpg photo IMG_0021_zps20887976.jpg photo IMG_0023_zps163a23eb.jpg photo IMG_0024_zps0ab707d1.jpg photo IMG_0025_zps20aaec25.jpg photo IMG_0027_zpsc655b706.jpg photo IMG_0028_zps4eecfba5.jpg photo IMG_0029_zpsdb5dd9fd.jpg photo IMG_0030_zps44339cfb.jpg photo IMG_0032_zps6c8a98e9.jpg photo IMG_0033_zps6c8fa101.jpg photo IMG_0035_zps6fd7ea4e.jpg photo IMG_0036_zps6ef9aa69.jpg photo IMG_0038_zpsf26412f5.jpg photo IMG_0039_zps91117d6a.jpg photo IMG_0040_zpsda34b273.jpg photo IMG_0041_zps55fb3eac.jpg photo IMG_0043_zpsc7a19bd4.jpg photo IMG_0048_zpsf3cac5a6.jpg photo IMG_0049_zpseb448086.jpg photo IMG_0050_zpsdb4ae1a2.jpg photo IMG_0010_zps09df5ed3.jpg photo IMG_0007_zps95793ae7.jpg photo IMG_0011_zps78734862.jpg photo IMG_0034_zps6a530b4e.jpg

Chevy Bolt EV, Chrysler Pacifica, Honda Ridgeline take 2017 NACTOY prizes

Mon, Jan 9 2017

Every year the 2017 North American International Auto Show kicks off with the North American Car of the Year Awards. We say "awards" after all those mentions of our home continent because it's not just cars. This year, in fact, the awards spread out to three separate honors: Car, Truck, and Utility. And without further ado, here are the winners. The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is the Car of the Year, the Honda Ridgeline is the Truck of the Year, and the Chrysler Pacifica is the Utility of the Year. Honda's win is perhaps the biggest surprise, upsetting favorite the Ford F Super Duty for the win. The second-generation Ridgeline rides on a unibody platform and is offered in front- or all-wheel-drive, which is unconventional for a pickup. But the layout also offers a cargo bed with an in-floor trunk and solid fuel economy figures of 19 city, 26 highway in its most-efficient form. The Chevy Bolt EV, however, was probably the easiest winner to predict. Its 238-mile range and sub-$30,000 starting price after tax credits make it a breakthrough in the landscape of electric vehicles. With the Chrysler Pacifica available in a plug-in hybrid form, this year's award illustrates the industry's shift towards efficiency and electrification. And with Ford's recent announcement on future EVs, it might not be long will it be until we see a hybrid truck on the award stage as well.Related Video:

GM, Pilot will build EVgo fast chargers at 500 truck stops across U.S.

Thu, Jul 14 2022

All of our maps showing electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S. are going to need an update. Today, General Motors, Pilot and EVgo announced plans to work together on a nationwide DC fast charging network. The plan calls for 2,000 charging stalls that can deliver up to 350 kW to be installed at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centers in the U.S. The goal is to have DC fast chargers available in 50-mile intervals across the country. The new charging stations will feature GM's "Ultium Charge 360" branding and "Pilot Flying J" logos but will not be limited to drivers of GM EVs. The plugs will use CCS connectors and be available to anyone. GM EV owners can take advantage of benefits, including the ability to make exclusive reservations, get discounts on charging costs and streamline the charging process with Plug and Charge and in-vehicle apps that can provide real-time charger availability. The first installation phase will take place in 2023, and "the bulk of the installations" should be completed by 2025, EVgo CEO Kathy Zoi said during a conference call with reporters announcing the plan. "We're gonna get going immediately and commence all of that engineering and planning stuff," she said. "We've got a pretty orderly plan." Pilot CEO Shameek Konar said the company expects the new EV charging stations to coexist with the current fuel infrastructure. "An average Pilot Flying J location is about 10 acres," Konar said. "This will be in addition to all of our gas pumps. The way I think about it is, this is a new source of energy that is going to coexist with gas for quite some time. We can debate how long, but we need to serve both groups of customers." Installing DC fast chargers at hundreds of Pilot's travel centers — aka truck stops — means there should be food, drinks, restrooms, WiFi and even showers available while you wait for an EV to charge. Pilot recently announced its “New Horizons” plan that will invest $1 billion in upgrading Pilot travel centers with more premium amenities, including expanded seating and lounge areas. While the exact amount of time it will take to charge an EV using these new stations will vary on the EV and its current state of charge, most EVs can refill from a low state of charge to around 80 percent in 20-30 minutes on a fast charger. The new stations are future-proofed to deliver up to 350 kW, a charge rate that few EVs today can handle.
