1947 Chevrolet Rat Rod project
I bought this truck with the hopes of making a cool vintage rat rod.I'm selling it because it is to large a project for my mechanical abilities and I simply don't have the time to devote to finishing it, so it's time to sell it to someone who can. This vehicle does not run and is in the condition I bought the truck in.It looks to have had some new and or rebuilt parts added to the motor but I am no expert so look at the pictures and decide for yourself.
I tried to take as many pictures as possible to show the overall condition of this pickup. It has dents, dings, holes, cracks, missing parts, and varying levels of rust from minimal to extensive.Be advised there IS RUST everywhere on this truck and will be an issue. The hub caps look to have been added and the wheels may be replacements that are painted red.Aftermarket red and white bench seat and door pannels. The white wall Firestone tires I assume were also added and give it a cool look. The windows are cracked, the brakes don't work (truck rolls when pushed). The wiring has been disconnected and hangs loose.Spark plugs and wires are gone. The radiator is gone. The carb appears new or rebuilt? Looks like a new horn, air filter, gaskets???Battery is gone.Gauges are gone.Lots of things are gone I think.I have a box of new and used parts I took a picture of but not sure whats there??As you can tell I don't know much about mechanics just trying to be honest describing the condition. Please ask me any questions you have and I will try an answer as soon as I can.

The winning bidder agrees to be responsible for any and all shipping costs. This vehicle is sold as is,where is. $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of auction end. Remaining balance to be paid in full within 7 days of auction end and in cash or wire transfer or Paypal.Winning bidder agrees to remove vehicle within 7 days of auction end.

All that being said I would like to add this vehicle with some money and work could make someone a very cool rig.I would also like to say I don't believe the prior owner put all that money in new motor parts onto a bad engine.I was able to turn the fan blade by hand so I think that means the motor is free? The tires read Firestone Deluxe Champion Gum Dipped made in the U.S.A. The parts alone I think would retail a couple thousand.I hope this helps with some questions but you be the judge.

Nissan Leaf sales get January jump as Chevy Volt trends downward

Mon, Feb 3 2014

The cold January sales dip hit both the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt last month, but when compared 2014 to 2013's first-month-of-the-year sales totals, one of the two early plug-in vehicles obviously came out on top. The top Leaf market also shifted away from Atlanta for the first time in months. Last year, the Leaf sold just 650 units in January, but it managed to move 1,252 last month, a 92.6-percent increase over 2013 but a big drop from the 2,529 sold in December 2013. Paige Presley over at Nissan told AutoblogGreen that the Leaf has now broken sales records for 11 months straight and that, "we see unique seasonality with some December pull-ahead demand based on federal and state tax incentives." The number one Leaf market also shifted away from Atlanta for the first time in months, moving back to San Francisco. That change could be short-lived. "We had some inventory constraint issues early in the month in Atlanta with end-of-year demand depleting stock," Presley said. "By the time we resolved that, the weather hampered sales." There was not as much good news on the Chevrolet front. Last month, the Volt sold 918 units, down from 1,140 in January 2013 and 2,392 in December 2013. It also marks the first time the Volt has sold in the three-digit range since January 2012, when it sold 603 copies. That string of solid months means that the plug-in hybrid has a roughly 12,000-unit lead over the EV since the two cars brought plug-in vehicles back to the mass market all the way back in December 2010. We will have our full report of January's green car sales up soon.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head

Fri, Jan 30 2015

"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
