You are looking at a 1946 Chevrolet short box pickup. VIN 5CK Q5 2371 Please note that the mileage is unknown and is exempt on the title. This is the crem de le crem of these trucks. You cant find too many of these anymore in this shape and having a current title. I purchased this truck from an older gentleman who had driven it to school. It had been in his family for a few generations, but has been sitting for several years since. From what the vin buster on stovebolt tells me, this is a interim model built in Kansas City and has a 115'' wheelbase. Just take a close look at the pictures as this truck speaks for itself. As you can see, there is a large dent on the roof, the wiper motor panel is rusted out as is the upper grille / radiator baffle and some slight rust thru in the beltline. But look at all the positive aspects this truck is offering. That custom spinner knob! Artillery wheels on the back! And the pictures were taken just after I washed the grime off so you could see what it would look like if you just clear coated it as it sits. The floor of the bed has had a steel floor welded into it, but the wood floor remains below. The doors and windows all operate and the key is in the ignition. This is a very solid and mostly complete truck. Sure it has some damage, but nothing that can't be worked out, or leave it as it is and rat rod it. This truck has lots of patina that you just cant find everywhere. This truck does not run, but will roll onto a trailer. I can assist with loading this onto your trailer. I will not ship this truck, but will work with your shipper at my convenience. I may however deliver this up to 200 miles from zip code 68330 for the right price. If you are the winning bidder on this auction and only want parts, that is fine also, but you will pay the final bid. Come take what you want, and I will dispose of the rest. This truck will need to be picked up within 6 months of the auction end, unless other arrangements are made. A $200.00 non refundable paypal deposit will be required within 48 hours of the auction end, with the remaining balance due before pickup, or cash at time of pick up. (the longest eBay option is 14 days) Please ask me any questions you have and I will try to get you the best possible answer. This truck will come with a bill of sale and a title that is clean, clear and current in my name. This truck is selling as is in a no reserve auction. If you are in the area and would like to look at this before you bid please get ahold of me and we can set something up. Please contact me if you are a 5 or less before you bid so I know that you understand the details of this listing. Thanks for looking and please email me for more info or pictures. I am also listing several items that could be used in a 41-46 truck build, so please check out my other listings and see what else you could pick up at the same time. I may also have other parts to sell when you come get this truck.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head
Fri, Jan 30 2015"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:
Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
Chevy Volt sales drop in June, Nissan Leaf inches upwards
Tue, Jul 1 2014Different month, same story. That's the gist of the monthly US sales numbers from the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf. These were the first two mass-market plug-in vehicles to go on sale in the US and we've been comparing their sales numbers for what seems like ages now. So far, the 2014 tale of the tape shows the all-electric once again trumping the plug-in hybrid. The last time the Volt outsold the Leaf was in October 2013. Chevrolet sold 1,777 Volts in June. That was good enough to be the Volt's best sales month of the year, but it's down 34 percent from the 2,698 units sold in June 2013. In fact, it's on par with the 1,760 Volts sold in June 2012. Given the steady sales, General Motors might need to push up the release of the next-gen Volt to gin up excitement, especially if it also offers some of the things that current Volt drivers say they want improved: more range, a lower price and a fifth seat. GM also said it sold 85 Spark EVs in June, an increase of 215 percent over June 2013 Nissan sold 2,347 Leafs last month. The good news continues for Nissan, which says it sold 2,347 Leafs last month. That's an increase of 5.5 percent over 2013 numbers and makes 2014 the best June ever for Leaf sales. Let's credit Texas. Toby Perry, Nissan's director of EV sales and marketing, said in a statement that, "Since the Texas state incentive went into effect in May, we've seen a big jump in Leaf sales in the Austin, Dallas and Houston markets. Our dealers are telling us that they saw more traffic in their stores, and they had their best Leaf sales performance in the last weekend in June." Even with that increase, Atlanta remains the top Leaf market. Nissan has sold 12,736 Leafs in the US so far this year; Chevy 8,615 Volts. Our detailed monthly sales write-up of green cars in the US, including plug-in vehicles, hybrids and diesel cars, is coming soon. For now, we invite you to discuss these numbers in the Comments.
