From collectibles to electronics, buy and sell all kinds of items on eBay Stores Up for sale is a project that I have been working on and off from the late 80's-early 90's.  I am cleaning out due to age, health and other interests.  This will definitely make a nice ride, rat rod-whatever your wants might be!

I had the roof cut off and extended the cab approximately 12".  I made a removable roll bar out of 1/4" thick gas pipe for sturdiness and safety.  The engine is a 327 Chevrolet with a mild cam.  Running a 3 speed with a new Hurst shifter and a 3:70 rear end.  Brakes, shocks, and exhaust are all new.  Front axle is a dropped tube axle (new) with new king pins.  Steering is a stock box with a late model column.  There is only about 100 miles on the odometer since I got it all running.  Engine does have more miles, but not sure how many.  Runs strong!

Has a plastic windshield in it now but sale includes a safety glass insert to go with the truck.  Grille shell is an original and had about 3 new bars put in, straightened and then powder coated the gray that you see.  Has 14" x 6" Centerline wheels on front and 15" x 10" Centerline wheels on the rear.  Fenders are fiberglass all the way around and are like new.  The passenger side would need some work or replaced as it sliced through a post??

The running boards are made out of 16 gauge metal and have been welded to the original boards.
The original boards were cut along the inside lip to allow for drilling of holes in the new covers so I could run side board lights before the new metal was welded on.  NO holes yet!  The running board taper out on each side about 3" wider to make the rear end/fenders  give a tubbed look.  The metal that you see in the photo is for the front and sides of the bed I was going to make as well as the square tubing for the stake pockets.

Mufflers are the quiet type but still have a nice sound.  The hood is a one piece hood but needs to be finished welded.  There are metal side filler panels that go with the truck to finish out the sides.  One has already been cut out so there is a start for a pattern, but would recommend creating a template before cutting. EVERYTHING bolts in/on the frame/running gear.  There has been no welding other than the rear shock mount/cross member.

Wiring panel is from Affordable Street Rods and has some extra terminals that can be used.  The only items wired up are the horn, lights, brakes, mechanical speedometer, turn signals-etc.  Just those items that make it legal and street worthy.

Doors are suicide and need fitting and completed.  The filler panels for both sides are included for the cab extension and to give the driver and passenger more available leg room as well as safety from the roll bar.   Also included is the Inside door skins. I have tried to include photos that show how everything is bolted in.

As shown in the photos, everything is included for the cab that I had to cut off.  I guess you could extend that as well if you wanted  to.  Also included is a top folding assembly off a 1964 MGB that I was going to use for a pattern or re-work to fit on the truck.  There are many other parts-including the original rear spring hangers that go with this truck.

Also included with the project is another fairly complete 1937-1938 Chevrolet cab.  Includes 3 doors and all the hinges.  There is a good driver door and 2 passenger doors to make one good one.  The cab does have the original gas tank. If you don't want to finish the roadster, then put on this cab?  YOU can do what you want and NO I WLL NOT PART OUT THIS SALE! I AM GETTING CLEANED OUT! My Stores Logo

These items must be picked up by buyer as I cannot deliver or ship.  Will sell world wide.  $500 by PayPal due at close of auction.

This is a heck of a deal with all of the hard work done or at least started and will provide many miles of fun and enjoyment.  Rat Rods are in so why not go with the flow?  I will be throwing in any extra parts that I can find and they will go with this auction.  Don't let this one pass you by.

Recharge Wrap-up: BYD unveils 60-ft electric bus, Honda sticking with hybrids in Europe

Thu, Oct 16 2014

BYD has debuted a 60-foot electric bus at the American Public Transportation Association Expo in Houston, TX. The Lancaster bus, as it is called, has a 120-passenger capacity and can drive over 170 miles on a single charge. The articulated bus features low floors and no steps, thanks to in-wheel hub motors. BYD also displayed a 40-foot electric bus that drove the 1,500 miles to the show under its own power (recharging along the way, of course). Read more in the press release below. Honda says it will continue to sell hybrids in Europe, despite the fact that it has stopped selling the CR-Z and Insight due to slow sales. "Our focus at the moment is on our 1.6-liter diesel but we haven't forgotten about hybrid technology," says Honda Europe's Philip Ross. Honda will sell the next-generation Fit (badged as the Jazz) in Europe when it launches next summer, and will sell the next-gen hybrid version beginning in 2016. Honda sold 4,500 of the Jazz hybrid in Europe last year. Read more at Automotive News. XL Hybrids is selling its XL3 Hybrid Electric Drive System in California. The news comes after the California Air Resources Board issued an executive order allowing the aftermarket hybrid conversion for 2012-2014 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans. The XL3 Hybrid regenerative braking conversion increases real-world mpg by about 25 percent. Read more in the press release below. NRG eVgo has finished installing 60 charging stations at the Sony Pictures Entertainment studio lot and offices in Culver City, California. The Level 2 chargers, which will be managed by NRG eVgo, allow employees to charge their EVs during the workday. An average of 90 EVs and PHEVs park at the studio headquarters every day, thanks in part to Sony Pictures' Alternative Vehicles Incentive program for its employees. Learn more in the press release below. Pennsylvania's Public Utility Commission will allow operators of EV charging stations to set prices based on kilowatt hour usage. This change ensures that drivers pay for the actual energy they use, rather than the time they spend charging, since different cars can charge at different speeds. Car Charging Group has already begun using the per-kWh fee structure at its charging stations throughout the state. Other states that allow kWh pricing are California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Virginia and Washington. Read more in the press release below.

2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven

Wed, Feb 8 2023

POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods.  However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows.  Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS.  Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence.  Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino  with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.

Race Recap: Rolex 24 at Daytona was fast and feisty

Mon, Jan 26 2015

Let the record show that victory at the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona went to the No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Target/Ford EcoBoost Riley DP driven by Verizon IndyCar drivers Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan and NASCAR drivers Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson. The winner did 740 laps to cover 2,634.3 miles in 24 hours and 57.667 seconds. That's a statement to this year's pace in spite of 18 cautions, two more than last year: the Michael Shank Racing Ligier got pole with a time of 1:39.194, slower than last year's pole time of 1:38.270; however, the winning car last year only did 695 laps. The fight for top honors was shaved to a four-car battle over the first third of the event. The No. 02 Ganassi car took the lead on the first lap, swapping it well into the night with the No. 01 Ganassi car, the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP, and the defending champion No. 5 Action Express Corvette DP, all of them staying within about 20 seconds of one another. The Action Express car had a fuel connector come loose and lost three laps getting towed back to the pits to have it reattached, but was back in the lead 18 hours in. The No. 01 Ganassi car dropped out with recurring clutch problems 22 hours in, retiring not long after. A race-within-the-race is where the concluding action happened, a seven minute, 30-second dash from the end of the last caution to the checkered flag. During the penultimate pit stops with an hour to go, Dixon was in second place followed Jordan Taylor in the Wayne Taylor Racing DP into the pits but beat him out, taking the lead. The Action Express car was in third. In the last pit stops of the race, Dixon gained even more time, getting a four-second advantage over Taylor. Then a full-course caution came out twenty minutes before the finish when a Prototype Challenge car hit the wall and caught fire, bunching up the field. That closed the pits, but the Wayne Taylor Racing car had to pit during that yellow because of a miscalculation of driver time. No driver can be behind the wheel for more than four hours in a six-hour period but Jordan Taylor was going to go over, so he came in to swap out for brother Ricky. That cost the team any chance of second place, since they took an additional drive-through penalty for entering closed pits. When the track went green again, Sebastien Bourdais in the Action Express car stayed all over Dixon for the final five laps but couldn't get around him.
