Wow, this is the perfect barn find.  It is a 1935 Chevy pickup that was owned by one family since 1938!  Made in March 1935 at the Oakland plant the truck has been in Novato CA since 1938.  I have a copy of the original 1938 title, as well as a lot of original manuals and sales brochures. The truck is all here and there is absolutely no rust.  The wood in the truck is perfect!  Even the bed wood is fantastic, no rot anywhere.  If the bed wood is not original it is at least 40 years old...but it well may be original.  The first photo shows the building that the truck was removed from, first time in daylight since the early 90's.

I have not started the truck but it turns over and has great compression.  It needs the carb done and the points cleaned up. Wiring is all good and is in great shape.  The seat was removed because it was really mouse eaten.  I do have the original seats...so the frames are here.  they are still covered with the original material etc.   It looks to me like the gent who sold me the truck removed some of the original wood base...I'm going to see if I can get it from him... When the seats came out the wood and floor under it looked just as good as the rest of the wood.  Doors are solid and close perfectly. Driver's window is perfect and rolls up and down beautifully, windshield is cracked, passenger window is gone but the mechanism is there and works fine.  I have 7 original wire wheels and 5 tires all mounted on the truck.  I have ordered a radiator cap and the patterns to remake all the glass in the truck.

I worked for a couple of hours on the drivers side of the truck with some wet sanding and then waxing and you can see the results in the pics.  The truck has a perfect patina.  it would be a shame to restore it but would be perfect for a sympathetic restoration and would look great in the survivor class on the lawn at Pebble beach!  No rear bumper I'm afraid.  the front and rear fender on the passenger side are beat up buy there and repairable.

The exhaust is not original and there is no muffler in the system.  I took the air cleaner off and looked into the carb and forgot to put it back before the pics.  This truck is an amazing find.  The paperwork has all been done and I have a new CA title that makes it completely legal.

The brakes are weak but they are functioning.  I hate to sell her but dont' have the time to put into bringing the truck back to life.

Chevrolet Camaro in Korea - Click above for high-resolution image

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.

Supercharged 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 takes the C7 beyond the ZR1

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

The Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."
