know he’s spent a lot of money on the car. It’s a real pretty car being red on
red. 1966 chevy
nova 2 door sport coupe V8 4 Speed This is a
nice little nova someone can have some fun with. It could still use alittle TLC
to get it to the next level but shouldn’t be to bad to do. From what I can tell from the casting number
on the motor it looks to be a 1966 283 with a 4 bbl. Carb. The numbers I found on the back of the block
look to read 3949852. It’s hard to read so come check it out if the numbers are
important to you. The motor sounds nice
with alittle bit of a lumpy cam idle but not crazy. The 4 speed shifts nice and is fun to
drive. The carburetor should get alittle
work or maybe a new one at some point. Most
things work in the car like the blower fan, the emergency brake, and the
wipers. I see the horn and am radio are inop.
Most of the lights look to work but maybe a brake light out? The windshield was replaced with a New
one. The dual exhaust is New. It has I believe
flowmaster mufflers. The battery has also been replaced. Inside the
car has fairly New seat covers, carpet, headliner, sill plates, door panels +
more. Outside the body was very
solid. It did get a new quarter panel
replaced just behind the rear left wheel.
The car has real nice looking base/coat clear paint. It has New bumpers,
door handles, rocker panel chrome, wheel opening moldings and more. The underside has had alittle work in the
floors over the years but looks pretty solid and neat. The rear frame rails
look nice and strong. Probably should have some cleaning up and maybe some
black paint under there. Mileage reads 97,736 but i'm sure that's probably been over All in all a
real pretty car someones gonna have some fun with. I know he’s got aolt of money in it but it's gonna be sold regardless of what it does. This description is mearly my opinion so come verify or check it out however you like. I believe ebay offers an inspection also. Selling as is cond. Connecticut uses the registration and title as one so ownership transfer is done on the back side, we also have a bill of sale. Final payment can be check, bank to bank transfer or cash in person. Please be aware any check must fully clear the financial system before car or paperwork leaves. my bank tells me that can be up to 10 business days. Thanks |

Junkyard Gem: 1986 Chevrolet Sprint Plus
Fri, Jun 16 2023General Motors sold second- and third-generation Suzuki Cultuses with Geo or Chevrolet Metro badging in the United States from 1989 through 2001 model years, and we've all seen plenty of those cars on the street over the years. The first-generation Cultus was sold here as well, with Chevrolet Sprint badges, and I've found a rare example of the Sprint five-door hatchback in a Northern California car graveyard. The Chevy Sprint first appeared on the West Coast as a 1985 model, then became available everywhere in the United States for the 1986 through 1988 model years (in Canada, it was sold as the Pontiac Firefly). It was available here as a hatchback with three or five doors; for 1986 only, the five-door was badged as the Sprint Plus. Soon enough, The General would be selling many more Asian-built cars with Detroit badges here. Isuzu I-Marks were sold as Chevrolet/Geo Spectrums starting in the 1986 model year, while Daewoo provided the Pontiac LeMans two years later. Under the hood, a 1.0-liter three-cylinder rated at 48 horsepower. The five-door Sprint cost $5,580 in 1986, which was $200 more than the three-door (those prices would be $15,445 and $14,891 in 2023 dollars). I've documented seven discarded Sprints prior to this one (including an extremely rare Turbo Sprint), and all of them were three-doors; we can assume that price was the most important factor for Sprint buyers. Gasoline prices were crashing hard during the middle 1980s, but memories of gas lines and odd-even-day fuel rationing from 1979 remained strong. What cars competed with the '86 Sprint on sticker price? Well, there was no way to undercut the hilariously affordable (and terrible) Yugo GV, which cost $3,990. The much bigger (but still pretty bad) Hyundai Excel listed at $4,995, while Toyota would sell you a sturdy (but zero-fun) Tercel starting at $5,448. Even the wretched Chevy Chevette — yes, it was still available in 1986 — cost $5,645. The original buyer of this car was willing to shell out an extra $395 to get an automatic instead of the base five-speed manual. That's about $1,093 in today's money. This car must have been slow. By the end, the doors were held shut with duct tape, but it still stayed alive until age 37. 53 miles per gallon on the highway! It does everything. The camels of the highway.
Here's why automakers roll out those Texas-themed pickup trucks
Thu, Sep 29 2016Every year, automakers with a full-size truck link make a big show of the Texas State Fair, usually involving a reveal of a new model. Sometimes they show a whole new truck, and other times a special edition centered on the Lone Star state. While some people might write this off as a quirk of the industry, others might be wondering, "What's the big deal with Texas?" As it turns out, part of the big deal with Texas is big truck sales. According to Dave Sullivan, product analysis manager at AutoPacific, Texas buys more trucks than any other state in the country. It's not a small margin either. Edmunds.com, one in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. The state also accounts for 15 percent of the country's large truck sales, which is more than twice that of California, the second largest truck market in America. Even when you break down sales only in Texas, trucks are a huge piece of the pie - Sullivan says that a quarter of new vehicle sales in Texas are trucks. One in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. But it's not just sales that make truck builders give attention to Texas. As Sullivan explained, "Pickups are life in Texas." Both he and Hugh Milne, marketing and advertising manager for the Chevy Silverado line, said that trucks are key fixtures in Texas society, as both work trucks and luxury vehicles (or Texas Cadillacs as Milne called them). Milne said Texas is so important in the truck market that if you want to be successful in the rest of the country, "you've got to be successful in Texas." As for the State Fair, it has become a prime location for reveals in part because of the importance of the Texas market and because of how big the fair is. Milne also revealed that the State Fair also hosts its own auto show, so it's an ideal venue for a vehicle introduction. So there you have it. Why do truck builders obsess over Texas? It's because Texas obsesses over trucks. When you have one market that loves your product that much, you give it the attention it deserves.
