I'm relisting my Super Sport Nova. I realized this week-end that I had it priced way under market value. Thanks TLC for making me aware of that. Would like to thank USA race team for their offer. We're not far off. In addition, I appreciate the rest of you guys I've spoken with that have shown what I believe to be a real and sincere interest.
The car actually speaks for itself. Fully documented with authentic original dealership paperwork, Protect-O-Plate, and buildsheet. 100% number matching drive train, 327/275hp 4-speed option with 60k real miles. Runs and drives incredibly well. Everything works as it should. Runs, shifts and drives very smooth.
The top was replaced due to age. Have photos to ensure there are no rust issues. This is an entirely "rust free" car. It sat in storage a number of years. To ensure no internal damage the engine was pulled before attempting to crank it, then hot tanked, replaced bearings and oil pump, polished crank and rebuilt heads. 100% factory spec. Have pictures of all internals. It looked brand new inside when it was opened. Never street raced. The car is 100% unrestored beyond that. Original paint, interior, stainless, head and tail lamps etc etc. It was family owned and driven. I don't want to mislead anyone as the car looks a little better in the pictures, but not by much. The patina is a work of art in its own right. Good luck finding a real deal 327 4-speed option SS that retains original equipment not to mention unrestored and in the condition this car is in if you don't understand that. They are just not around. Those that are restored wish they could be original again. Guys that have restored them wouldn't have if they started with one in this condition. All of the black under the hood is 100% original. Price original hardware and stainless on one of these and you'll get the idea. You Nova guys understand it well.
The billet aluminum wheels and tires are new. Original wheels, tires and SS spinner hubcaps are included.
I spent Labor Day week-end looking at six of these. One with 20k documented miles which was the only true unrestored one of the bunch that wasn't in near the condition as this one. Not even close. Only two of the cars I visited had documentation to prove legitimacy. One was a 6 cylinder so it doesn't count really except the guy was firm at 35k. None of the 327 cars were true factory red although two had color changes made red. Each of them had rust issues or underwent rust repairs. None retained all original hardware. Prices ranged from 35 to 67k. Thus, the guys at TLC were proven correct as noted above and I appreciate their input.
This is not a forced sale. Have title in hand. I'd like to sell but not a must. It basically pays to own it. Cars like this only increase in value. If it doesn't sell before Spring I'll take to a super Chevy show or vacation with it at Pigeon Forge Swap Meet. But I figure Ebay is a great and convenient forum. If your looking for a real deal SS to make the trailered car guys ill, this is one that will. The price is 55k or best offer. Please, serious inquiries only. Thanks for looking.

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.

Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.

5 classic trucks and their polarizing modern revivals

Sun, Mar 3 2024

EVs are helping eliminate Detroit's gas-guzzling problem. Some revivals of gas-powered classics are getting the EV treatment.  But not every revived model looks exactly like its original counterpart. We're in a new era of hulking Detroit metal, and you can thank EVs. Americans can't get enough of their big, beefy trucks and SUVs. But for many years, some of the biggest gas guzzlers fell out of fashion as gas prices rose and emissions regulations tightened. But in the past few years, some of the most iconic American truck nameplates have been brought back to life with electric motors, like the GMC Hummer. In other cases, as with the Ford Bronco, improvements in engine technology and more interest in rugged adventure vehicles made a gas-powered revival possible. Even some revivals that started as gas-powered, like the Chevy Blazer and the Jeep Wagoneer, are now getting electrified spinoffs. (Even if they don't always look quite as sleek as their original inspiration.) Here are side-by-sides of five classic American trucks and their modern counterparts. The Jeep Wagoneer 1975 Jeep Wagoneer and 2024 Electric Jeep Wagoneer SStellantis After a long wait, Jeep released its revival of the classic Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer in 2020. Starting later this year, an electric version of the luxury Jeep SUV will join the Wagoneer lineup. The Chevrolet Blazer A 1973 Chevrolet Blazer and a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EVGetty Images, General Motors The Chevrolet Blazer was first rebooted in 2019 as a sporty family SUV. The modern Blazer shares zero resemblance to its boxy, off-roading older sibling, but it has still managed to become one of Chevy's more popular SUVs in recent years. The Blazer EV came later, and was one of the first models GM built on its new Ultium battery platform. The Hummer A Hummer H2 and the 2023 Hummer EV pickup truckGetty Images, General Motors Once the poster child for Detroit's big, bad gas guzzlers, the Hummer got new life as an electric pickup truck in 2021. The Ford Bronco A 1971 Ford Bronco and a 2022 Ford BroncoFord Motor Co. After a rouge group of engineers and designers inside Ford spent years trying to breathe life back into the Blue Oval's boxy off-roader, the Ford Bronco was finally resurrected in 2020 amid a rise in popularity for rugged adventure vehicles.
