Rare 1969 Chevrolet Nova Ss, 350, 4 Speed W/ Original Broadcast Sheet on 2040-cars
Warner Robins, Georgia, United States
Up for auction is a this rare color and trim combination 1969 Nova true SS. This was a highly optioned car back in it's day. It's equipped with a 300 hp 350, Muncie 4 speed, 12 bolt posi, power front disc breaks, factory A/C, factory console with gauge package, factory tach, bucket seats and deluxe exterior trim package. The tach, speedo, oil pressure, amp, and gas gauges are all in working order. This car is a real attention getter no matter where you go!!! The car comes with it's original broad cast sheet, owners manual and a folder full of receipts. I was told by the previous owner that this is an original 43k mile car and that it had a complete frame off resto back in early 2000, which has held up really nice. On a scale of 1-10 I'd rate this car a strong 9 on both interior and exterior. This is one of the nicest "drivable" 69 Nova SS's I've ever seen. As you can see from the photos the sheet metal underneath the car is solid and shows no sign of rust. I believe all of the panels on the car are original and are very straight, as seen in the photos. The doors, trunk lid and hood all line up nicely, all open / close as they should. The doors don't sag or drop when you open them and the glass rolls up and down perfectly.... this is a solid car. I have receipts showing the car was in Calf. until the late 90's which would explain why the car shows as solid as it does. I'm told it's a three owner with the last owner being a dealer and only owning the car briefly. I was also told it's an all number's matching car. I can tell you the car has the original broad cast sheet, rear end, transmission, bellhousing, pulleys, break booster etc. The engine block has been docked and has no visible #'s on the front pad however, the engines casting date does correspond with the vehicle so, you be the judge. The car has it's original 14x7 ralley wheels with what appear to be NOS beauty rings and center caps, all of the glass, carpet and seats look good on the car with less than normal wear and tear. I could go on and on about the car but, the truth is you can find a lot of really nice 69 Camaro's out there at a much higher price but, I believe you'd be hard pressed to find another 69 Nova, true SS car, as nice as this one, for the price I'm asking. If you don't believe me, come judge the car for yourself, I don't think you'll be disappointed. This car is a "driver", I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere, it is NOT a $100,000 trailer queen, world of wheels show type of car that I'm asking $25k for. It's simply a really, really nice drivable car that you can wash on Friday night, drive to your local car show on Saturday morning and bring home the trophy on Saturday evening. I know of no mechanical issues with the car and it runs, drives and shifts just as it should. Understand this, I am not a car dealer nor a car collector...I am simply a car enthusiast, I have described this car to the best of my ability and believe everything above to be true and correct but, if you have any concerns, comments or questions what so ever, on anything I've disclosed in this ad, I strongly encourage you to come inspect the car for yourself before you bid. If you win the bid, I require a $500 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of winning and the remainder of the funds within 72 hours unless prior arrangements are made. I am selling the car "AS IS" with no warranty. I reserve the right to end the auction early as, I have the car for sale locally. For questions you may call me before 10 p.m. eastern time @ 478-808-7103 or email me at mkbhd2002@yahoo.com Thanks for looking and good luck!!!! |

GM to invest $150 million in Flint to boost heavy-duty pickup production
Thu, Jun 13 2019FLINT, Mich. — General Motors President Mark Reuss said on Wednesday that the automaker is investing about $150 million at its Flint Assembly plant in Michigan to boost production of heavy duty trucks by another 40,000 vehicles a year. Reuss announced the investment at the Flint truck assembly plant wearing a United Auto Workers pin. The Detroit automaker had announced back in February it was adding 1,000 jobs in Flint to build a new generation of heavy-duty pickup trucks. GM did not say that the latest investment would add more jobs at the plant, but Reuss said there could be opportunities to add workers as the launch of the automaker's new trucks progresses. GM has been under pressure from President Donald Trump and lawmakers of both parties to add jobs in the United States after it said last November it would idle the Chevy Cruze assembly plant in Lordstown, Ohio, and likewise had no new products for three other U.S. manufacturing plants. The Flint investment will include upgrades to the plant's conveyors and other new tooling, and will be completed in the first half of 2020. GM has invested more than $1.6 billion in the plant since 2013. Last month, GM said it would invest $24 million to increase truck production at its assembly plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana, which makes Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra models. Sales of heavy-duty pickups in the United States have grown to more than 600,000 vehicles a year, up more than 20 percent since 2013, according to industry data. Prices for luxury models can easily top $70,000. GM's Chevrolet and GMC brands have long trailed Ford's F-series heavy duty trucks in the lucrative segment. The new Chevrolet and GMC heavy duty trucks have been re-engineered to tow heavier trailers, and keep pace in what has become an arms race among the Detroit Three automakers to claim superior torque and towing capability. Chevrolet considering midsize crossover to slot between Traverse and Equinox
Mon, Jan 9 2017Crossovers are the new hotness, and automakers are looking to cash in by offering a size and shape for every customer. With Chevrolet's debut of the new 2018 Traverse in Detroit, which grew ever so slightly compared to the first-generation model, there is now a midsize-crossover-sized hole between the three-row Traverse and the compact Equinox. When asked about that obvious space, a Chevrolet spokesperson told us the company is looking into the possibility of expanding its crossover lineup. It should be a relatively simple thing to do, since all it would take is reskinning and rechristening the GMC Acadia with a bow tie, and we all know how much GM loves platform sharing. Although they're now different sizes, the new Acadia and Traverse still use the same platform; the Acadia is now on a short-wheelbase version of the C1XX while the Traverse uses long-wheelbase C1XX parts. A short-wheelbase Chevy built on the C1XX likely would be differentiated visually from both the Acadia and the larger Traverse. It may seem like flooding the lineup with more and more models would cannibalize sales of existing ones, but Chevrolet said it would rather have customers stay within the brand rather than going to another automaker. There have been whispers that some form of the Blazer name (possibly TrailBlazer) may make a return on a midsizer, but if it does don't expect an old-school body-on-frame SUV like the old one. In the end, if Chevy builds it, customers will come. Related Video:
How GM engineers are using diaper 'snow' to keep you warm
Thu, Jan 8 2015Testing how snow affects General Motors' vehicles isn't really a problem right now for the company's engineers, but in the dog days of summer the process isn't exactly easy. The only real option is for them to book time at the automaker's climatic wind tunnel. However, a flash of brilliance from an engineer allows snow to be simulated regardless of the temperature outside, and the discovery is all because of his daughter's wet diaper. The realization came to GM Thermal Systems engineer Nicholas Jahn while he was swimming with his daughter and noticed how her diaper ballooned in size in the water. He found out the substance that makes this possible is called sodium polyacrylate. When the material gets wet it grows and forms fluffy flakes that are a close imitation of snow. Best of all, the stuff can be prepared easily any time of the year, and it's reusable. The engineering team uses the material to test the effectiveness of the heating systems of GM's vehicles. They spread the sodium polyacrylate over the inlets at the base of the windshield to obstruct the airflow and then crank the heater. After some time, they can see how much is being sucked into the system and design more efficient systems in the future. See how the process works in the video above and read about the diaper discovery in GM's press release below. Diapers Change Chevy Cruze Winter Warm-up Time GM validation engineer uses diaper material "snow" to reduce frigid drives 2015-01-06 DETROIT – An item commonly found on an infant's changing table is helping General Motors' engineers simulate snow year round, ensuring heating systems in cars like the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze can quickly and efficiently warm its interior. Packed snow can prevent air from entering the inlet panel at the bottom of the windshield, obstructing the flow of air into the heating system and reducing the amount of air it can push out. This can lead to less efficient warming of the car's interior and windshield defrosting. "The last thing anyone wants to do when it's freezing cold out is scrape their windshield," said Nicholas Jahn, GM Vehicle Thermal Systems engineer. "The testing we perform on the Chevrolet Cruze with the diaper material allows us to maximize the car's heating capabilities." Ironically, Jahn stumbled upon his diaper-based testing method in the middle of summer. During a swim with his daughter, he noticed her diaper multiplied in size when it came into contact with water.
