For sale is a 1962 Chevy II/Nova Convertible. I purchased this car around 2009/2010. I cleaned the car up and got it road worthy. From then it has been a great around town on a nice day car. This car is not perfect and needs some work. It is a great driver and gets a lot of looks and thumbs up. I will provide the most honest description possible, if you have any questions or think I missed something please contact me. The Nova has a Chevy L6 230, which was rebuilt by the previous owner. The motor runs very smooth with great power and has been upgraded to HEI. The transmission is a factory powerglide and history is unknown, shift great with no issues. The Nova has 4 lug and drum brakes all around with factory wheels and hubcaps. New tires were added and have very few miles on them. The car has the following factory options: Dash Pad, Power Brakes, Courtesy lights, Bumper Guards Front and rear. I have added a factory SS gauge cluster to the car. The oil pressure, fuel and speedometer all work. The temp gauge is not hooked up to the SS cluster and is currently ran to an under dash gauge. All lights and wipers work. I put some new speakers and a radio (in glove box). Very quick job, just so my daughter could listen to some tunes. Has two sets of key, one original GM set and backup set. The body of this car is in overall good shape. All the bodywork was done prior to me getting the car. As you can see it is painted a “Man Purple” color. There is some rust on the car and pictures in description show the trouble areas, so there are no surprises. The hood will need to be replaced, poor paint prep has left some of the areas prone. Please review the included pictures to see the rust locations and severity. None of the rust areas are through the body. The car does clean up very nice. The top on the car is need of replacement; it was outfitted with a glass back window, which is included in purchase. Most cars have plastic back windows, which fade and become a problem. The interior was redone around the same time as the paint, it shows some wear and cracking from sun on the top of the rear seats. Seat belts for four mounted in the car. Carpet is faded, but I have placed a nice NOS floor mat in the front. The car will come with a lot of parts, around seven plastic tubs and many boxes. Parts are not all convertible specific, but Nova 62-65. I believe it will all fit in the car with the top up for transport, if being shipped. Parts included the following and more. NOS Brake light kits X 4, NOS door lock kits, trim, two NOS floor mats for wagon, nice kick panel vents, nice windwing glass, low mileage heater, trim, gauges, hubcaps, window sets (tinted wagon), Pypes SS exhaust for passenger side with muffler, wiring, brackets, misc nuts, bolts, etc. Also included is a brand new California Car Cover custom fit cover, replacing the previous one. UPDATE 9/3/14: I was asked to check the floor pans for an interested party. Pictures have been taken are available via requesting through eBay. The passenger side of the floor is 100% solid and in great shape. The driveride, has few spots that are through, near drain plugs, however the previous owner patched from above and riveted the patch on. I tried to remove the carpet for better pictures, but it is glued so well it will be a full day job. Any questions please message through eBay. Thank for looking. This is a list of thing I know the car needs done if wanted: - Hook up heater o Included is a low mileage heater with a good heater core. (Removed from a 40K car) - Roof to top latches o These will need to be replaced - Vent windows o Driverside is cracked and rusted, have OEM glass will perfect chrome to replace (both side) - Alignment o Car does pull a little to the left - Replace top o If planning on driving in weather, replacement of the top would be smart. Or run with the top down. This has been a great family car for us, but a new project is on the way and the convertible needs to find a new home. I am willing to work with the new owner on assisting with getting the car shipped. I will make sure it is packed and secure for the shipper to pickup. I am the current owner and it has a clean CA title in my name. The car will come with the original CA black plates. I have the records from the previous owner also. Totaling around $4500, which was done in the 1990’s. This is an old vehicle and is sold AS IS. If you would like to see the car in person, it is located in Capitola CA and I can arrange if needed. I have tried to provided an honest and complete description unlike many do on eBay, if you would like specific pictures or have any questions, please contact me through eBay. This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. A deposit of $500.00 via Paypal is required at end of auction within 24 hours, the remaining amount is due within 7 days. Thank you. |

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites
Sun, Jan 7 2024Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.
China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division
Wed, Jan 7 2015An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
Former Fisker CEO has some advice for Tesla Motors
Wed, Oct 22 2014Former Fisker Automotive CEO and ex-Chevrolet Volt vehicle-line director Tony Posawatz has some words of caution for Tesla Motors. The long-time automaker executive questions the California automaker's long-term viability – and gives some praise – in a talk with Benzinga, which you can listen to below. While the all-wheel-drive D that Tesla unveiled earlier this month in Southern California wowed a packed crowd, Posawatz (starting at around minute 4:45 in the interview) says Tesla would've been better off taking the resources it expended toward that Model S upgrade and directed them towards speeding up the development of a more affordable plug-in. Perhaps a number of investors agreed, since the company's stock fell the day after the D was announced. Posawatz says Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of ZEV credits. Posawatz also says that Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of zero-emissions vehicle credits in California for its earnings and questions whether the automaker will ever work at a large enough scale to sufficiently drive down costs and make consistent profits. Tesla CEO Elon Musk would take issue with this characterization. Posawatz first made his mark in the plug-in vehicle world when he was the vehicle-line director at General Motors for the Volt extended-range plug-in from 2006 to 2012. Later that year, he joined extended-range plug-in maker Fisker Automotive as its CEO, though quit that job during the summer of 2013 as the company was descending into insolvency. He joined the Electrification Coalition this past March. News Source: Benzinga Green Chevrolet Fisker Tesla Electric PHEV Tony Posawatz
