Belt, Montana, United States
LOT TO YAK ABOUT SO LETS GET STARTED. WE'VE ALWAYS BE NOVA GUYS. EVERYBODY HAD CAMAROS AND CHEVELLES. BEST PART ABOUT NOVAS YOU COULD GET THE SAME PERFORMANCE OPTIONS AS THE OTHERS. SO WE ALWAYS WENT WITH THE POOR BOYS CAR. WE BOUGHT THIS RUST FREE NOVA ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO. GOT HOLD OF IT JUST TO RESCUE IT. THIS NOVA WAS ALREADY TOTALLY APART LIKE YOU SEE WHEN WE GOT IT. BACK IN THE DAY WE HAD OTHER CARS TO WORK ON AND THIS 1 JUST GOT SHOVED IN A CORNER AND FORGOTTEN ABOUT. THE ONLY BODY EVER ON THIS ONE ARE THE FRONT FLOOR PANS. WERE REPLACED BY US AS THE FORMER OWNER HAD CUT THE ORIGINAL ONES OUT AND BUTCHERED THE REPLACMENTS. AS SEEN IN THE PHOTOS WE REPLACED THEM SO AS TO APPEAR THEY WERE NEVER REPLACED. THAT MEANS TOP AND BOTTOMS WERE FINISHED OFF. THATS IT FOR THE BODY WORK ON THIS CAR. IT HAS NOT HAD ANY OTHER SHEETMETAL WORK DONE. WE TRIED TO SHOW IN SOME OF THE PICS THE ORIGINAL SPOT WELDS. THE ONLY OTHER DAMAGE TO THE BODY IS THE PINCH WELD AREA BEHIND THE REAR BUMPER WHERE A PIECE OF RUBBER HELD WATER. COUPLE SMALL PIN HOLES. WE LEFT IT ALONE AS IS STILL SOLID. THATS IT. YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER 2DR SEDAN BODY ANYWHERE THIS SOLID. ALL SHEETMETAL ON CAR IS WHAT CAME ON IT. CAR WAS STRIPPED TO BARE METAL THEN PRIMED AND SEALED. UNDERSIDE WAS STRIPPED BARE OF UNDERCOAT, CLEANED,PREPPED AND PAINTED PPG 2 STAGE BLACK, SAME AS FIRE WALL. THE BODY IS UNBELIEVEABLE. START WITH THE BEST AND SAVE ON BODY WORK. THIS CAR WITH A COUPLE GOOD BLOCKING DAYS IS READY TO PAINT. TAKE A LOOK AT THE INSIDE OF FENDER PICTURE, INSIDE OF IT IS JUST AS NICE AS OUTSIDE. DOOR PANS ARE THE SAME. NEVER ANY RUST OR PITTING. THEY HAVE NO FILLERS METAL IS THAT NICE. EVEN AROUND WINDOW OPENINGS ARE CLEAN. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL BLACK CAR, WITH TAN INTERIOR. WE HAVE CHANGED INTERIOR TO RED. SEATS HAVE BEEN REBUILT AND COVERED IN NOS, YES NOS MATERIALS. DIFFICULT TO FIND. NEW DOOR PANELS WERE MADE BY SMS FABRICS. HAVE A REAL NICE RED STEERING WHEEL. ALL NEW WEATHERSTRIP IS INCLUDED. ALL GLASS IS PRESENT INCLUDING NEW TINTED WINDSHEILD. ALL THE CHROME WHICH ISN'T MUCH IS IN GREAT CONDITION, GRILL AND SURROUNDS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. ANODIZING STILL LOOKS GOOD. BUMPERS REAL STRAIGHT WITH ONLY ONE LITTLE DING IN FRONT ONE SIZE OF A PENCIL EREASER. HAVE A NEW GAS TANK FOR CAR. AS SEEN IN PICTURES WE HAVE NEW A ARMS, CONTROL ARMS, REAR SHACKLES AND BUSHING, MOTOR MOUNTS. NOW FOR THE RUNNING GEAR, LITTLE CAR CAME AS A 6 CYLINDER, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. AS IS ALWAYS THE CASE THEY ARE LONG GONE. AS SEEN IN THE PICTURES IS OUR CHOICE TO POWER THIS NOVA: JUST REMOVED FROM THE CRATE A 350/350HP RAMJET FUEL INJECTED MOTOR. THIS MOTOR IS NEW NEVER FIRED. ITS A PLUG AND RUN. COMES WITH ALL WIRING HARNESS AND COMPUTER. INSTALL MANUAL. ALL THATS NEEDED TO RUN THIS MOTOR IS A 12V SYSTEM AND FUEL. ALSO INCLUDED IS A SET OF SANDERSON CAST IRON HEADERS, CHROME BRACKETS AND PULLEYS FOR FRONT OF MOTOR, CHROME BRAIDED FUEL LINES. TRANSMISSION IS A 700R, TOTALLY REBUILT WITH NEW TORQUE CONVERTOR. TRANS HAS BEEN POWDERCOATED. REAR END IS STILL THE STOCK ONE THAT CAME WITH CAR. EVERTHING IS INCLUDED TO REASSEMBLE CAR. JUST CAME TO THE CONCLUSION WE'LL NEVER DO IT. THESE 65 2DOOR SEDANS ARE THE RAREST OF THE NOVA BODY STYLES. 1 YEAR ONLY. EARLIER SEDANS HAD DIFFERENT ROOF DESIGN. WE CALL THIS ONE OUR STEPCHILD. PARTS FOR THESE ARE THE HARDEST AND LEAST REPRODUCED. HARD TO FIND A NICER ONE OUT THERE. GUYS ARE PAYING 13K FOR NEW 67-69 CAMARO BODYS, WHY NOT HAVE SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT. EVEN HAVE THE PROTECTOPLATE FOR IT. I WILL NOT SELL MOTOR SEPERATE. WILL SELL CAR WITHOUT MOTOR AND TRANS. PAYMENT AS FOLLOWS NO EXCEPTIONS. MUST BE PAID IN FULL WITHIN 2 WEEKS. TITLE AND CAR WILL NOT LEAVE UNTIL FUNDS CLEAR. CASHIERS CHECK, WIRE TRANSFER, PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED. SEND ALL THE BAD ONES YOU WANT WHEN IT CLEARS WE'RE GOOD. Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

Cadillac Celestiq, Lyriq, Hummer, other future GM electric cars: Here's everything we saw at ‘EV Day’
Wed, Mar 4 2020WARREN, Mich. — Today, General Motors held an “EV Day” event at its Warren, Michigan, campus to present its new “Ultium” battery technology, modular electric vehicle architecture and soon-to-come electric vehicles. Unfortunately, we were forbidden from bringing cameras into the event, so while we canÂ’t show you what we saw, we can tell you more about it. While we saw the previously teased Cadillac EV (which we now know to be called the Lyriq) and the GMC Hummer pickup teased during the Super Bowl, there were a number of other future cars at the event, which GM President Mark Reuss assured us are all real vehicles in the works. The biggest surprise came at the end of the event, though, in the Cadillac Celestiq electric sedan, which Reuss described as a future flagship that would be hand-built “very locally.” It had been hiding under a dark sheet all morning, with the front and rear illuminated Cadillac emblems shining from underneath. When the wraps came off, we saw a long, white, four-seat fastback sedan. The 23-inch wheels were pushed out to the very corners of the car, giving it what appeared to be a very long wheelbase. The model on the stage had no side mirrors or visible door handles. The grille mirrored that of the Lyriq crossover next to it, with integrated lighting in lieu of the usual mesh or slats youÂ’d see in an internal combustion car. The entire roof, all the way until it tapered to the tail of the vehicle, was tinted glass. In back, vertical tail lighting ran down the C-pillar before turning rearward across the top of the trunk. Inside, everything below the beltline of the windows — essentially all but the headrests and top portion of the steering wheel, was hidden from view. Behind the Celestiq, a large digital display showed a rendering of its interior. The dash consists of a pillar-to-pillar curved LED display serving as both instrument panel and infotainment system. Protruding forward between the front seats was another touchscreen that appeared to house some more controls, with open area, probably for storage, below it. The rear seats had the same sort of touchscreen between them. Built into the back of the front seats were a pair of rear-seat entertainment screens, much like we saw in the Lyriq. The door panels blended wood, metal and animated lighting to give character and a sense of opulence. GM interior design manager Tristan Murphy was on hand to tell us a bit more about the Celestiq.
24 Hours of Le Mans live update part two
Sun, Jun 19 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and can hold his breath longer than he can go without swearing. For Part One, click here. Or you can skip ahead to Part Three here. I write about surfing for a living. If you can call it a living. Basically means I spend my days fucking around and my wife pays for everything. Because she's got a real job that pays well. Brings home the bacon. Very progressive arrangement. Super twenty first century. I run a surf website, beachgrit.com, with two other guys. It's a strange gig. More or less uncensored. Kind of popular. Very good at alienating advertisers. My behavior has cost us a few bucks. I'm terrible at self-censorship. Know there's a line out there, no idea where it lies. I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. For contests I do long rambling write ups. They rarely make much sense. Mainly just talk about my life, whatever random thoughts pop into my head. "Can you do something similar for Le Mans?" "Sure, but I know absolutely fuck-all about racing." "That's okay. Just write what you want." "Will do. But you're gonna need to edit my stuff. Probably censor it heavily." So here I am. I spent the last week trying to learn all I can about the sport of endurance racing. But there's only so much you can jam in your head. And I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. While I rambled things were happening. Tracy Krohn spun into the gravel on the Forza chicane. #89 is out of the race after an accident I missed. Pegasus racing hit the wall on the Porsche curves. Bashed up front end, in the garage getting fixed. Toyota and Porsche are swapping back and forth in the front three. Ford back in the lead in GTE Pro. #91 Porsche took a stone through the radiator, down two laps. Not good. The wife and I are one of those weird childless couples that spend way too much time caring for the needs of their pet. French bulldog, Mr Eugene Victor Debs. Great little guy. Spent the last four years training him to be obedient and friendly. Nice thing about dogs, when you're sick of dealing with them you can just lock 'em in another room for a few hours. You don't need to worry about paying for college.
