This nova was purchased 1996 and driven as a street car for a couple years then was taken off the street to become a race car. It was raced from late 97-2004 and then another car was purchased and this one put in storage until 2012 when I decided to rebuild the car back to a race car, well I lost interest once it was pretty much done. It has a 327 CI SBC that is bored .030 with TRW 11.1 pistons with new rings, NEW scat I beam rods, GM steel crank, Crane roller cam with NEW Crane roller lifters, Dart aluminum heads, NEW Roller rockers, Team G intake with Rons flying toilet injection, belt drive fuel pump. The motor is fresh with only break in time on it in fact it stills needs some tuning on the injection. Also MSD 6T ignition box with MSD billet dist., MSD blaster coil, and MSD wires. I installed new headers, new electric water pump drive, pan e-vac system, and a NEW super starter. Then I rebuilt the powerglide with all new seals, clutches, and band I also installed a deep aluminum pan, TH350 hardened input, and a Coan High gear Low gear valve body with transbrake, then installed a NEW ACC 3500+ stall convertor and to shift it all I put a new Hurst quarter stick in. Car also has the factory GM 10 bolt 8.5 with 4.56 gears and a mini spool. New Goodyear slick, aluminum wheels. Jegs switch panel installed were the radio was, new oil pressure and temp gauges. Has a older 8 point roll cage with sub frame connectors. Poly racing seat, with older 5 way seat belts. 8 Gallon racing fuel cell and new fuel lines though out the whole car, mount for 2 batteries, has on in it now, master kill switch. All new Compition Engineering adjustable shocks on all four corners. This car ran 11.80s before I parked it and it will run better now with some new updates I did. Now this car has a clear title and fully street legal but will probably need some work with the lights I am not sure they all work. The only wiring I changed around was moving the ignition switch to a push button. I completely went through the body work in 1998 with new rear quarters, new harwood fiber glass 4inch cowl hood and fresh purple paint, the paint is in ok shape now days has some scrathes and chips from years of racing. The floor pans are not too bad in the front they do have some small rust holes, but the trunk is rusted pretty bad so I put a sheet of metal in and raised the floor up and made it flat. All in all this car can be a nice street car or a great race car. The interior has cheap carpet on the floor and stock door panels, the door panels and dash some wear and cracks. All that I had left to do was fresh paint, work on the interior and have it alingned. The car was an original SS. Feel free to ask any questions. I am willing to deliver the car up to 300 miles for free if it reaches the reserve.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
